What if the individual cruises are on sale but the Grand Voyage cruise is not ?

Exactly, I ran in to this situation on my most recently booked cruise. The two segments were already on sale, but the combined one wasn't. I wanted to get two credits out of it anyway, so it worked for me. I have one booking number, 2 Cruise ID numbers. I have double Oceania Club credits, $500 each segment as well as $250 SBC per segment for booking onboard.

The real bonus though is that I get TWO bottles of that delicious Oceania Club wine, one for each segment.

JMHO, our tastes are all different and some are more food adventurous than others.  I do not “try” things even though I can on the ship. I order what I like and that is “my” decision. I must say however that after over 15 years of sailing on Oceania, I have NEVER gone hungry or walked away from the table in need of finding something to eat.
I must say I do have my favorites so in Jacques, I go for the Pumpkin Soup, the Dover Sole, the Sea Bass in Puff Pastry. In Toscana I can not pass up the Oil and Balsamic trolly with the bread basket and focaccia, the Lasagne, the Dover Sole and virtually any Chef’s Pasta Special of the night and YES to me it makes a difference if the Chef is Italian. Red Ginger, it MUST be the Watermelon and Duck Salad, the Miso Glazed Chilean Sea Bass, the Rack of Lamb, DW loves the Teriyaki Beef.  Polo, DW goes for the Filet Mignon, Waldorf Salad, various potato offerings and the Giant Shrimp Cocktail and also the Table made Caesar Salad. Ember, while not gourmet, all of the entrees have been very good. GDR, good meals but DW always orders Jacques Chicken to take a break from the meals served in the Specialties. Terrace Cafe, B L D there are always delicious offerings, best buffet dining we have ever had aboard any line.

Well, that is my $0.03, Inflation you know. With this said, it’s time to “Drop” my mic and fade into the sunset.

But how did it compare to Regent?

Unfortunately, our first visit was last year.  We were accosted at the cathedral by a young Frenchman and a few others who decided to also have some fun.  The incident supposedly involved us not only taking cuts where there was o line, but also pushing babies down with their strollers and pushing people to get into the front of the line for Le Petit Train. This was all a stunt to get my purse that was wrapped around me.  My DH and I stood our ground, yelling at the Frenchman and letting him know that we were not allowing for any of this nonsense.  There were no police, or anyone else in security or law enforcement.  Although, someone approached me yelling someone I did not understand.  anyway,  I ended up losing my new Maui Jim sunglasses, but that was the extent of loss; however, I was exhausted afterwards.  Since we both have silver hair, it was obvious that we were targeted.  Self defense classes and karate are both great ways to learn how to defend oneself and not become victims.  This was the first time ever that anything like this has happened; I hope it is also the last!

    No Marseille for me!

    That's just crazy@#

Good luck with either of those things.   Policing people (done by passengers and not cruise officials) is a thankless job and not likely to change anyone's behavior.  Non-washers will continue to not wash, and chair hogs will continue to hog.  Maybe it makes you feel better to publicly correct them, but still...good luck.

The only people I ever publicly correct are those at Terrace that try to serve themselves. I always tell them, "They'll get that for you". Fortunately my wife is generally not with me as she would crawl under the table when I do stuff like this.

    @ORV

I was on the Regatta last September with Jan.  I remember that Adrian was the Concierge.  Our CD was Carson Turner.  Both very fine people.

I was on Regatta last Sept with Jan and for the life of me I don't remember Carson Turner. Or maybe it was 22, not 23. At any rate whenever it was the CD was Leslie Jon.

  6. I've cruised with English John before, I think his last name is Clelford, or something like that. I do hope he's done at the end of this cruise. I'd almost rather have Dottie. When we last cruised with him he had a tendency to have the speaker system turned up so loud it would literally knock you out of your seat when he did the announcements.

Oddly enough I have never, in 15 years of cruising on Oceania, not seen the CD run the daily Trivia team games. Including when I cruised with him before. I'm wondering if maybe he might have something and not be able to interact up close with the public.

    It is the Vista.

I was actually asking Traveling Gert which one they were talking about. For people new to Oceania they don't realize the difference in rooms and bathrooms between the R ships and the newer ones.

All of the noise in this post about the small bathrooms and showers are moot points unless you're going on an R ship. That's why I keep asking people which ship.

After reading your first post I would say you might want to consider how much you might want to eat in the room. The Concierge cat really doesn't have an acceptable place for eating, where the PH will.

Judi666..  thanks for your comments.  I'm also boarding on Sat in LA and wondering who is serving as cruise director?  Thanks.

Are you following the Roll Call for that Cruise? Jan mentioned that Adrian is the CD for the 4-20 cruise. I don't know Adrain but she said he's very good.

OOPS, never mind, I see we've already had this conversation on the Roll Call. My mistake.

Hopefully CoolBlueGreenSeas won't mind me tagging onto their post here.

Please elaborate on size a bit. My husband is six foot six and dad-bod, so he takes up a certain amount of space just by necessity. I found videos of a six foot six fellow not quite so dad-bod who demonstrated he fits in the showers even in the Ocean View cabins on several different Oceania ships. This is going to be a big anniversary cruise for us so I really think at least a concierge veranda room, but that nice space in the bathroom in the PH cabins really looks nice.

Which ship are you considering? It makes all the difference.

Hmm, booked Vista last year for next year.  Vista layout shows all the extended balconies as A2, except for a few Solo Verandas, so this must have been something already in the works.

I think Vista was categorized that way from the start. Marina & Riviera on the other hand have gone through a couple of changes. Seems I remember when they came out those may have been B4s.

Different cruiseline, different corporation, but several times when Princess reclassed additional vanilla mini-suites as Club Class, the lucky folks with existing reservations got upgraded.

    There is hope.  🤞

Historically that's not the way Oceania has handled this. There is a date that it is changing. If you booked the room to sail before that date then you would be in the old category. If you booked to sail after that date then you would get the perks associated with the new level. On the Oceania website for Marina if you look at deck 7 on the deck plans you will have two choices, pre 2025 cruises which show the Extended balconies as a B3 and View Deck Plan, which show them as an A2.

And Nautica. Either Miami to Cartagena or Cartagena to Miami. Both 12/2024. 10 nights. $2999 veranda or $1899 inside stateroom (both no airfare).

I have both of these booked as a Combo cruise that gives me two credits. D Category, no air. My price is $1800 cheaper than the current sale for the whole 20 days. I also have $250 SBC per segment for booking them while onboard. I also have the simply more perks plus the Club perks.

Thanks for the sale info though.

Seems like it has been different on every voyage for us. I prefer sparkling water.

On Riviera 12/2021 there were various cans and bottles of both still and sparkling water in our fridge and in the bars and elsewhere. Same for Sirena 11/022.

But on Riviera 10-11/2023 seemed a bit harder to easily find it. So I'd go up to Horizons every night around 8 or 9 pm and pick up some cans or bottles of sparkling water from the bartender. He looked forward to talking with me because it was always empty. He quickly learned what I liked and he'd have it ready for me nightly. Got to know the singer for the house band, too. (My wife smokes as did the singer, so I'd get my water and meet them in the smoking lounge.)

So do you mean like Club Soda or Seltzer Water? I see this all around the ship.

Are Pelligrino and Perrier both sparkling, or is one of them still?
