  1. Oddly enough over the years I've found this to be something I've encountered again and again with Oceania cruisers. I'm not really sure it's age related, they simply are not interested in pop or rock music. Not everyone, but enough to make me ponder it over the years. I'm ok with it, when there are rock trivia questions it usually gives me an advantage. I've wondered why the string quartets are always female?
  2. I'm not sure there are any wines by the glass that are not already on the Simply More list. When did you book? What program did you book under? More information needed.
  3. That's what I was asking Pinot, I don't think he's getting ALL the same benefits.
  4. I think the answer is no. The wines by the glass are the same regardless of whichever package you have. I don't think there is any discount on wines by the bottle, but I could be wrong on that.
  5. Just a thought, would you rather be on a tour with 12 people in a 12 person van, or 38 people in a 50 passenger bus? Nobody ever wants to get in the back in those vans.
  6. So did you get stuck on that tour with the couple that were end time preppers that spent most of the tour telling you about their Subaru Outback that is the best car ever made? I thought I was the only one subjected to them.
  7. Just to throw another idea in here. If you are sharing a table in the Specialties being late is rude and inconsiderate. I'm sure the OP is talking about dining by yourself. Just wanted to separate the two things.
  8. I suggest you check the Ports of Call board.
  9. Well, not quite that simple. Actually the time your room is READY is determined by your suite grade. Your time to board is determined by what you select when you do the online check in. For my upcoming cruise I'm in an Oceanview room, yet my boarding time is 11 am. To further complicate the issue those that are Platinum or higher have Priority Terminal Check in, whatever that means. Since I have it I just get in the shortest line and if anyone questions me(which has only happened once) I just tell them I have Priority Check in.
  10. Are you sure you're getting the same amount of SBC? Ours in Feb was $250 if we picked a cruise or $100 if purchasing an FCC, or to make FF happy I'll call it a FCDC, not to be confused with the FDIC or the Federal Communications Commission.
  11. Elvis covered it on a Live album, but it was written by and made a hit record by Joe South.

    Brazilian VISA

I guess no one is trying to get a Brazil Visa anymore, or they're not having trouble with it from the lack of post on this thread. I, along with several others, posted about being charged twice for the visa. I never did anything about it as I didn't want to screw up getting the Visa. Yesterday while checking my credit card account I see an $80.90 credit on my card from VFS America. FWIW, I did receive mine and my wife's Visa in the last few weeks. Today I got this letter. Dear Customer, I hope this email finds you well. Regarding your recent application for a Brazil eVisa, upon reviewing our records, we noticed that a duplicate payment was inadvertently received for your application. Please rest assured that we have promptly taken action to rectify this issue. A refund for the duplicate payment has been processed and credited back to the original card used for the transaction. You can expect to receive this refund within approximately 25 working days, depending on your bank's processing time. Should you have any further questions or concerns regarding your eVisa application or the refund process, please do not hesitate to reach out to us. Thank you for your understanding and cooperation in this matter. Thanks & Regards, VFS Global.
  13. Get back to me when it happens on O. Nothing to do with cheerleading.
  14. No, it's never happened with O. So let's not create issues where none have EVER existed.
  15. This is the Oceania board, what RCL does has no bearing on Oceania, Period. Please stop creating unnecessary confusion.
  16. Ship Board Credit, also know as On board Credit. Not to be confused with Southern Bell Company.
  17. But you can cruise the Caribbean out of Tampa on a few dates.
  18. This is something you need to discuss with your TA or Oceania Rep. It probably is not an issue. FWIW, I agree with the other poster about 4am not being early enough. I wouldn't go so far as to say stay in a hotel, but I'd probably shoot for getting off at 3am. I have no idea how far the airport is from where the ship ports. That might be good information to find out. Of course, handling your luggage will all be your responsibility.
  19. They are a large travel consortium that primarily books Alumni groups. On most cruises I've been on where they have groups they will generally have a table set up with representatives. They have group tours, parties etc.
  20. Or maybe they're all sold out. 75 days is way past when they should be listed.
  21. I have no experience with the hard side, but I do have 4 pieces of the black Baseline soft side. I have had good luck with it, although I did have to send my carry on in to have it repaired. I don't know the weight of the hard side, but if it's lightweight that might be a factor. I am worried about some of the new restrictions as my carry on is the shorter, but wider international version with 2 wheels. If I had it to do over again I'd get the 4 wheel spinner that is narrower, but a little taller. I do like the compression feature.
  22. I have dress Clarks and I have Clarks men's leather sandals, I can see how the confusion could exist.
  23. I'm huge proponent of quality luggage, worth every penny. I like Briggs & Riley, Rimowa, Tumi and down from there Travelpro. I have B & R bags that have traveled for years and still look brand new. And of course they have that lifetime guarantee, for any reason. It doesn't get any better.
  24. Assuming you do go on Oceania have you narrowed down a ship, itinerary, and room category? Most rooms are not really set up for multiple occupancy.
  25. What you're seeing is the price from when you could book cruise only, and that is the full price. So yes, their website is not up to date, but don't expect it to be anytime soon. The actual upgrade price for those that book under Simply more, which is any cruise booked after Sept 1 2023, is $30 pp per day. You can have your TA book it, call Oceania to book it, or wait until you're on the ship to book. Both people in the cabin do not have to book it. Many of us wait a day or so to see if we need it. First day is usually pretty busy, second day is usually Captain's Welcome party with open bar for about 3 hours. So I would recommend playing it by ear to see what you think.
