  1. Do I have to get off the ship? Can I leave my stuff? Is it safe to leave stuff in the safe? How long should I expect to be off the ship? Do I have to go through security again? Recheck in, etc? Thanks.
  2. They say embarkation begins after about 1-2 pm and not to arrive before then. We will be in Los Angeles early in the morning. We have taken other cruises, but not princess. Additionally, we don't have a suite or anything special. Can we arrive at 10ish AM and have any expectation to get on reasonably quickly, or are they strict about the 1-2 time frame?
  3. Realistically, what time should we be off ship on the last day? We are going into Vancouver and I assume we will have to go throug customs considering we are American. When should we be out of the port with our bags in hand assuming normal wait times?

    Oceanview Cabins or Interior Rooms?

Thanks for the reply. To clarify, I meant a room with a window or just anainterior room without a window. I wasn't talking about rooms with balconies.
  5. Worth the extra money, or not so much. Real world advice appreciated.
  6. We are taking the Island Princess in a couple weeks. Others ships have something like Skywalkers Nightclub. Are there any party / nightclub venues on the Island Princess? Looking for something for a younger crowd that isn't simply a piano bar type environment. https://www.cruisecritic.com/articles.cfm?ID=3153 Thanks!
  7. My wife and I are taking a vacation without kids in two weeks. We are both in our 30s. The timing is late April and the cruise is 4 days. Will there be others like us, or are Princess cruises mostly older folk? And for extra credit. It's a short cruise. Any advice on meeting people similar to us quickly? We requested a table for 6 at the late dinner time to meet others. But of course we don't know who they will be. Any advice appreciated!
  8. Taking a Princess cruise in the next couple of weeks. I want to drink on the ship, but don't want to spend a lot of money doing this. I HEARD that Princess allows each adult to bring one bottle of wine (750 ml) in their carry-on. On their website they seem to give a hard no to outside wine. What is their 2018 policy around this? Has anyone brought wine in their bag? Anything I should know about procedure, how to do this, etc. Thank you!

    US Inmigration @ Vancouver?

I just got my passport for the first time (US Citizen). We are cruising in two weeks out of Los Angeles and arriving in Vancouver BC. Do I need just my passport and a driver's license to do this? And moreover: Do I need something from Canada BEFORE making this trip, or can I just show up in Canada? We are NOT flying straight out of Vancouver, but rather taking an Amtrak to Seattle after a couple days. Is this ok? Will they be ok if I stay in Canada after just showing up for a few days? Do I need a VISA? Not exactly sure what this is, except the passport has places for this? Anything else I should know? Thank you!
