  1. This afternoon, I was missing the Caribbean, and decided to head over to a local Jamaican restaurant called Irie Mon... Ironically, we have several Jamaican places here in Atlanta that are better than anything I've ever had in Jamaica, including the "famous" Scotchies... I went with my "usual" jerk chicken with rice & peas, and a side of cabbage...
  2. I agree... I don't think any of us will take it for granted ever again, once we're able to sail again...
  3. I can't believe it's been almost an entire year now since my last cruise... It was exactly a year ago this week, that I embarked on what turned out to be my "last cruise to date"... If I would have had any idea the situation would've turned to this, I would have tried to sneak another one in before the "stuff hit the fan"... I'm hoping and praying that we are all able to cruise again sooner than later, but we'll see... Until then, I'm trying to re-live some of my old memories of the "good 'ol days"...
  4. Since we can't be doing the "thing" we love most (Cruising) I've been re-living some of my past memories on the high seas... I was supposed to be heading out next week on the brand new Carnival Mardi Gras, but now I've had to rebook for next Thanksgiving... Hopefully sometime between now and then, we get this corona thing under control enough to return to cruising... Until then, I'm having to relish my past experiences...
  5. I would get on a ship right now in a second if given the opportunity... Make us sign a waiver, or whatever, just let me sail...
  6. I was supposed to be sailing the new Mardi Gras next week, but of course now it's been further delayed... I've now rescheduled for the same week next year, God willing...
  7. Visited JVD on what turned out to be my last cruise prior to the pandemic on the NCL Encore... Good times...
  8. It was supposed to be the Mardi Gras at the end of this month... Now I booked the Mardi Gras for the exact same week next year... My next booked cruise is a back to back on Virgin Voyages Scarlet Lady in June 2021... Hopefully, things get to the point where we can all sail again sooner than later...
  9. I book with Crescencio with Black Hat Cozumel, and have always had a great experience... He will take you wherever you want to go, and he won't try to convince you to go somewhere that you don't want to... Great guy, and a lifelong local who knows everything and everyone on the island...
  10. I haven't received the offer, but I do have $650 in OBC, so it's going to cover the cost of my Cheers and then some...
  11. I would volunteer in a second for anything that gets me on board!... Where do I sign up?...
  12. Last couple of glances towards the Port before flying out today...
  13. All the action has been going down over in the Floataway Lounge if any of you are interested in getting away from the crazy things we're all dealing with right now. There's a link further up in this thread, or you can just go over there and look for Sid's Ay Tee El (ATL)... There are a few pictures of the ships from as close as I could get to them without actually going inside the port area...
  14. I'm glad someone is enjoying these... I have blisters on my feet from the long walk across the bridge, but I really wanted to get as close as I could to them... It's been wayyy too long...
  15. I'm currently on vacation down in Miami, and I took a long and grueling walk across the McArthur causeway earlier, and got a glimpse of the NCL Gem in port at the new Norwegian terminal... We've all been jonesing for some cruise ship action for awhile, so I thought I would share a couple of real time ship photos... I know it helped out with my cruise addiction... Yes, I walked across the bridge from Miami Beach to downtown Miami to get these shots...
  16. I'm in Miami as we speak, and I would dang sure get on any ship right now if given the chance... In fact, I was "this close" to a couple of ships today...
  17. Hopefully, everyone has made their way over to the real action via the link I provided above to the Floataway Lounge... They moved the thread I started on the Carnival board about an hour after I started it...
  18. Who ever imagined that we would all be deprived of the thing that we love most, cruising... Something that I used to sort of take for granted, and now it's the one thing I look forward to the most... Hopefully, one day, we'll all be able to tackle the high seas again... Until then, this is the best thing I have going. I only wish that Miami had an "all you can drink" package... The drinks and everything else down there are absurdly expensive...
  19. Now that I've got this thing rolling in three different places, hopefully I can keep up with it all...
  20. If they end up moving this entire thing, the shenanigans will continue in the Floataway Lounge on page 940...
  21. What a long, strange trip it's been… There were ups. There were downs (mostly downs) And then, there were times that it went completely sideways… Even worse, there was the time when time seemed to stand completely still, altogether. By now, all of us on these boards have "had it up to here" with cancellations, no sail orders, and refunds and rebookings altogether. In fact, if someone doesn't begin sailing soon, Cruise Critic itself is in danger of becoming extinct. I have personally been cancelled on and rebooked, only to be cancelled on again, several times this year already, and
  22. Ok, I admit that I only clicked on this because of the title... I've sailed all the BA and BA+ Class ships, and there is only the little stool... As for luggage under the bed, pretty much all cruise lines have designed their bed platform to accommodate luggage underneath, even the Studio cabins...
