  1. Thanks so much. It has been a rewarding career but I am glad I do not have to deal with the school situation right now. The online learning was tough for the students and the teachers this spring. We did our best. Congratulations on your retirement. I hope we both can have a celebration of retirement cruise soon. 2020 has been a tough one!!
  2. Isn't it the truth about business class? Once we started we cannot stop lol. I suppose the upgrade availability will last until early next year. I do not want to pay until it is a fairly sure the cruise will be a go. I just retired from teaching and so now we can finally travel in off times like October. Well let us hope we can all travel soon. 🙂
  3. Yes, $1000 deposit does make the idea more appealing. I will think about it because that cruise does look like one we would like. I would also like the business upgrade but I have a feeling that would be available for awhile so we could wait a bit to pay for that. I think the 2022 are up to June on the website. I am waiting to see the September October sailings. We think fall would be a nice time to go to Europe. I suppose they will release them in not too long. We all are left to take our best guess at what is going to happen.
  4. That cruise sounds really great. It is very much like the one we were going to do this September on the Spirit except that one went from Lisbon to Barcelona. I really like that Oct 2021 cruise but still debating whether to wait until 2022 to cruise. Just not sure since so much is in the air. I wish we all knew where things were heading. I am not sure when September and October cruise itineraries for 2022 are released for I would like to see if there are any similar cruises then. I really want to plan a cruise but it is so difficult now.
  5. We have canceled our September voyage as well. I am hopeful though in the future to finally take our first cruise on SS. I hope everyone stays safe.
  6. We do not have a cruise until later September but I am leaning towards canceling. I just think that we might get waves of illness even with our efforts to suppress the curve. Not a time to be caught out of the country. Things might not be totally normal until the end of 2021.
  7. Thanks Bucephalus53. I will definitely check on my own situation. I hope everything works out well with you.
  8. Thanks for the information. We do not travel until the end of September, Lisbon to Barcelona. We also booked the business class upgrade. I guess I can plan to wait it out to August and hope the situation improves. My next thoughts are to shore excursions. The 180 day mark is coming up soon and I was planning on purchasing a few from SS. I wonder whether than money is refundable or hold out awhile to book? I would imagine they would not sell out with all this uncertainty.
  9. I hope so too! I see you retired! That is great!! I have until June 5. 37 years teaching high school math. I am ready for a nice cruise, lol.
  10. Thanks for the link. We are traveling Lisbon to Barcelona on the Spirit in September. Our first Silversea cruise to celebrate my retirement. We have time to wait and see what happens in the next few months. I am hopeful we will be able to still take our trip. I hope people's cruises here will not be impacted.
  11. We are traveling on my first Silversea to Europe in September this year. We upgraded to Business class for our flights. I was originally told we could get out flights around 270 days out. It is now around 230 days but I cannot seem to get any response from my Silversea consultant. I want to make sure to get good flights but I do not want to be a big bother if waiting is no big deal. For most of you who get flights, how close to the cruise date do you usually book them? Any suggestions would be appreciated. Thanks.
