  1. On RCI there are cafés selling Starbucks coffee. There they don´t accept gift cards. On the Oasis Class ships they have Starbucks as full franchise and there they do accept gift cards. The one on the Bliss looks like a full franchise not just selling coffee but all regular Starbucks specialties including cakes and more (I had a cake pop) plus they do sell Starbucks mugs (big ones and small Espresso size ones), thermo mugs and more.

(sorry, I can´t tell you more but first I´m German and I do not have a gift card and second everything was free of charge on the pre inaugural)

I don't know if this has been answered yet or not, but the Bliss Starbucks did accept Starbucks gift cards and also had the app scanner. I pre-loaded a few cards and used them specifically for the cruise. They made everything from coffee to frappucinos. They also had the pastries and such, but I don't recall them having the breakfast sandwiches, salads, etc. as you might find at the land-based stores. I always received very good service there too, no matter if I went in to get a basic coffee or something more complicated.

  2. Here's the menu, I think I'll have the Edo.

Thanks for posting the menu (and the drinks look amazing). I’m going to Teppanyaki as one of my specialty dines so let us know how it was and your favorite. [emoji846]

  3. So far so good, although not too fond of the oysters. Doug says they're better were you can get them fresh.3008e1db50614663c6ddea09c0bda097.jpg90ea3495a2a0d8789ec65157daa43cfd.jpg9a1edc91085f2d348f6c94fb21dd06c5.jpg709f0e3b670728ddb9a40c88398c4334.jpg

I’m glad I saw the comment. Thank you! I’m an oyster ‘snob.” I’ve had the Gulf Coast ones, which are outstanding, so I’d rather spend on something else if these are not “just right” [emoji3]

  4. That’s what I thought, but if this is the Starbucks onboard, why would they mention Starbucks Rewards? That would be highly misleading as you have to use your Starbucks card to make your purchase to receive stars... Interesting that’s all...

That’s exactly what I was thinking too. The sign is going to lead to a lot of confusion unless it’s specified that yes, you can use your Starbucks card. Because as you said that is the ONLY way one can earn reward points. Here’s hoping someone on the TA can advise during their cruise. I always keep a balance on my Starbucks gift cards so if I can use them onboard that would be great.

  5. Hi. Been watching your roll call for a year. You have done a great job. I may join. Going with another couple I will see if they would like to.

Just let me know if you all would like to. I’ll be officially taking names for the M&G/M&M until the last week in April when I need to give NCL an approximate number of attendees.

I saw you were on the PC cruise and wanted to make you welcome. This has been a great group. I’m happy to be part of it. [emoji846]

  6. The Countdown is On! 35 days until Panama Canal Cruise! It's been a busy and stressful year and we need a break. The pics I've seen so far of Bliss looks awesome. Looking forward to hot days and warm nights, or is it the other way around?:halo:

Are you on the roll call for this one? I’m the thread-starter and we’ve been going strong for over a year. [emoji846]

Looking forward to the cruise as well. It’s been a long time coming!

  7. What’s this about a murder mystery lunch? Is this new or done on several ships?

My sister, niece and nephew and I went to the murder mystery lunch on the Epic and it was fun. You have a set menu. The show was fun (it was some of the Second City people when they still had that). A bit of audience participation. And as it was near the end of the cruise, a lot of the inside jokes clicked with the audience. They’re not for everyone, but we had a nice time.

  8. I am on the May cruise from Miami to LA. When I do the online check-in they offer Specialty dining packages from 2 to 15 days.

Will these work in all the special restaurants? The note with most restaurants say "

Items on menu are individually priced. An 20% gratuity and specialty service charge will be charged at time of payment."

How does this work when you have prepaid and the menu is individually priced?

I saw you mention you're on the May Bliss cruise from Miami to LA. I can't recall if I've seen your username on the forum or not because we have so many members now, but if you're not, check out http://boards.cruisecritic.com/showthread.php?t=2442447

The dining. This was one of those online glitches I wondered if they had worked out yet as I hadn't checked anymore. It was also confusing when you spoke to a rep by phone because some told you one thing, and others told you something different. When we hit the 90-day window and I tried booking dinner reservations by phone (because you couldn't do it online), they wanted me to prepay $30 per person to Cagney's although Cagney's is a la carte with no flat rate. Why would you need to prepay? The only place I had "prepaid" in the past was the upcharge at Bayamos. Everywhere else I got charged when I dined if I didn't have the package. When a friend on the same cruise called, they had no issues setting up all of our dinner reservations; weren't even asked who all had dining packages. It was very odd. And right now, I haven't read for certain that the newer specialty locations like Q's and Los Lobos are included under the package or not. I'd think they would be, but that's speculation on my part.

One specialty which shouldn't be under the dining package is Food Republic, as it wasn't when I sailed on the Escape. I don't believe Margaritaville is either. (And NCL was experimenting with a flat charge at Margaritaville on 1 or 2 ships as opposed to a la carte, and I haven't heard what they've decided on for the Bliss).

So I don't know if that helped any or muddied the waters even more. It often feels like a "work in progress".

  9. And more news today

Miami is getting a beautiful new NCL Terminal November 2019 in time for the arrival of the line’s newest ship, Norwegian Encore, 28577475_10214414204703321_6011358834337673498_n.jpg?oh=83fe816e0d2eb21ff988aaa19f9e7cac&oe=5B02CA8728783167_10214414201663245_1995404093425218688_n.jpg?oh=ed4961bec43784dd3da2496656a20e25&oe=5B0C3AF428958441_10214414207023379_3907792062427549557_n.jpg?oh=9f18b1303b0839d6a6910b4c22a5ecbe&oe=5B48BF12

Oh my gosh! [emoji847] I was wondering when they might update. So many are getting updates at Port Everglades, etc. I’ll see this in February 2020!

  10. Did you click all the way through? I’m seeing 1399 and 1449 for studios late February, but it won’t let you pick any of the perks, so they are still tweaking things 4fbd20a681f173535fa34c23b694b6f7.jpgbc3c4ca5554011fd2d173765f70e5cc5.jpgbde8e35f2052b5cfe38f5bb3956ab743.jpg

Nah, I figured I’d give them a day or two to work things out. I didn’t even get as far as the perks portion....I'm editing this because I noted the date in your mock reservation. The February 23rd is the one I was originally looking at a few hours ago, so the price now seems more...normal? I guess? LOL

I know we had some issues last year when the bookings first opened for the Bliss, but the prices were still dead on. No $3000 studios. [emoji23][emoji23]

  11. I agree with you. Will maybe do a Bliss Alaska or something totally different. :)

I did a mock booking and my head went 🤯🤯 on seeing what they had for a studio. I checked one for late February and they had $3000! An interior, an ocean view and a basic balcony were priced sometimes hundreds lower for 1 person! I’m sure it’s a mistake, but the itinerary isn’t exciting me. I had hoped for a full day in San Juan. A few hours? Meh. I might still book if my friends do, but I’d stay on the ship.
