  1. There is no way to book excursions on our Dec 24 cruise....even though they are shown. I've tried going through the pencil/paper icon or just clicking on the cruise and the excursions show, but there is no way to book them. Hey, it's only been a year since the new management has taken over...but I digress. We actually have some excursions booked...but now, we can't add any new ones....we can just look at their descriptions. Oh, just as an aside, excursions are shown for our stop in Bonaire that has been removed from our sailing.....I guess we swim to shore to take those excursions....and yes, we have one booked.
  2. I am wearing my Azamara pull over and looking at my Prada sunglasses in front of me.....we had to spend the OBC on something....$1400 OBC in the Caribbean....
  3. one shareholder credit per room.....even if you both have 100 shares of stock
  4. Yes, two can use the multi device on one plan.....in fact two can share multiple devices each on the shared plan....and it's easy IF you remember to sign off each device before you sign on again with another device. Here's what happens if you have two devices on one plan package:: User A signs on to phone and gets connection 1 User B signs on to laptop and gets connection 2 User A signs off the phone leaving connection 1 disconnected...then signs on and gets the free connection. By signing off each time, there is always "your" connection free so you can connect any other of your devices without bothering user B If you don't sign off.... User A is on connection 1 and connects first User B is on Connection 2 and forgets to sign off user B then tries to sign on from a different device and there's no free connection...so the system disconnects the user who has been on the longest...in this case User A.
  5. Thanks for all the responses so far. Who helps with logistics when you get off the ship...hotel room, flight home for you and who arranges sending the body home, do you have to contact a local (foreign) funeral home, coroner, ???? None of this is a financial question....it's a process question....who has to do what...or really, what/how much would my spouse (or I) have to arrange vs the insurance company, consolate, Holland America, shore agent, etc.
  6. If my spouse were to die on a cruise, I know that cruise ships have mortuaries.....but what I don't know is what I would do and how the ship/cruise line would assist. Assuming we have travel insurance, I'm sure they play a part. Who would I contact for assistance? Do travel insurance companies help or do they just pay expenses? Does the port agent step in to help? I hope the answer isn't "you're on your own" because while we've travelled extensively, this is not something I could handle without some significant assistance. It's a reality that can happen to any of us....and I've not seen any posts here (or elsewhere) on this topic. Does anyone know what happens when when the ship arrives at it's final port (or wherever they offload the body)
  7. often (usually) a phone call works better....just call and innocently tell the agent you want to check if it's been applied correctly......then wait while she contacts whoever she contacts and see what happens. In this case, you don't want to use email. Note: don't say "others have received the benefit" if you are rejected....just thank the agent and hang up....try again tomorrow.
  8. We have found that the AARP offer is applicable to a) cruises booked before the offer was announced; b) with casino fares; c) applies to multiple cruises in the same year. You mileage may vary.....It seems to be automatically applied for b and c......for a, I had to call multiple times and the call that worked was to my TA asking if had been applied....perhaps it was the way I phrased it that made the difference. Instead of "does it apply", I asked if it "had been applied". As with most other things cruising....if you don't like the answer you get...call back in a couple of days. If you do like the answer you get, call back in a couple of days, just to check if you the answer is good information or a guess. And get everything in writing....a verbal answer is the same as asking your gas station attendant for their opinion.
  9. Be a little cautious of paying in full, in advance. I think you want to make sure that if you cancel the cruise prior to the original due date, that you still get a full refund.....
  10. I've used a travel router on many cruises. It's usability is dependent on the wifi system installed on the ship. It's not a "plug and play" solution....but with some networking skill, it does allow two or more connections at the same time as long as everyone is within range of the router. It doesn't help if one is walking around the ship and the other is in the cabin. It's most useful if you buy one package with one device....and then share the connection in your cabin.
  11. NO.....that's if we buy two plans. I am asking about one plan with 2 devices. They are different (and 1 plan is less expensive).
  12. I understand that if we have one internet plan with two devices, and my wife uses one, I the other and we logoff from one device before connecting to another, there should be no conflict...unless one of us forgets to logoff.. In the likely chance that my wife and I are both using our laptops and I decide to wander around the ship and leave forgetting to log off my laptop....and I try to logon from my phone...I'll get a message something like "you have used up all my devices....would I like to disconnect one" (at least that's the way they have done it on other ships). Do I get to choose which one to log off or does the system just pick one? If I do get to choose, how does the system identify the connected devices so I can disconnect the right one?
  13. I'm not trying to run three devices.....I want to run two devices at a time. HIA is different...each person has their own account. In my case, it would be one account....shared by two people.
  14. How are the devices identified....so I can decide which to log off?

  16. Can I book "we pick the room" and then get club orange? or do I have to pick a room which costs more?
  17. My wife and I both switch between our computers and our phones.....and we've always had internet thrown in on packages, so never thought about the difference in the packages. This is a short cruise with family and we don't have a package...we're on our own.. If I am on my laptop in the cabin and my wife is on her laptop in the cabin....I leave the cabin and now want to connect through my phone....presumably, I will get a message that I have used all of my devices and ??? What happens now....how do I disconnect my laptop and not effect my wife? Do I get a choice of which device to disconnect....or does the system decide...or ???
  18. Prices are lower if I buy one internet package for me for two devices.....than if I buy an internet package for 1 device for both my spouse and me What is the difference? I don't care if she uses the same userid/password I use. If I'm travelling with my son and his wife....why not save money and buy one package with four devices and let them use two of them?
  19. I'm getting both....free inside cabin offers come by email (one a couple of days ago)...and if I go to book a cruise and then log on before actually booking, the price goes down due to a casino discount (just checked on a cruise today).
  20. Do you have to use the stockperks application? Carnival corporation's stockholder relations says you can send them the usual information and they process the OBC.
  21. We are on the onward in an n2 suite on the way to San Juan. No issues other than grey sky and roughish seas
  22. You should be able to add hia for $55 a day, but it may take a call to Hal or your ta, if you used a ta to get that price.
  23. I expected a bad review....but the bads were essentially about the Azamara Web site and any interactions (or lack thereof) between Azamara and passengers before the cruise. The reviews of the ship were very positive (I didn't read every word)...and map to our experience earlier this year BCN-VCE....and hopefully again on tomorrow's 10 day Caribbean cruise. If I notice any differences worth noting, I'll start an Onward 12/12/2023 thread....and I will avoid repeating our similar pre-cruise experience.
  24. One wonders whatever happened to the ancient practice of "testing" changes, before making them live on the internet. I understand that cruise companies subcontract their IT...and some even subcontract their ship operations (Azamara is one), but signing a contract doesn't absolve HAL management from insisting that changes, that customers will see, are tested. Signing a contract does not mean....I don't have to pay attention to what the subcontractor does. If I'm wrong and HAL actually uses it's own IT department...well, that's easier....they need new management in that area. Like others, HAL has apparently decided we no longer have the three cruises we've booked, etc. They also can't determine my sex any longer in my profile, so my title is not Mr or Mrs, it's "Null". With luck, these issues will continue and tomorrow's issue will allow booking a cruise for $0.....one can always hope.
  25. At that time, they weren't allowing folks who booked the no frills, non refundable fare to book the HIA. When we booked HIA was $7000+ more than the non HIA, non refundable deposit fare we were offered on the HAL site. We wanted to do the upgrade but couldn't.
