  1. We'll be sailing on Oceania in November. Stopover in Cozumel will be 0800-2300. Plannig to arrange a private tour. Question is: is it possible to do Chicken Itza within that time frame and if possible will it be too rush?? Grateful for any input. Thanks!
  2. Woow.......clearly this hits the nerves of some of our fellow Cruisers! As I said right upfront when I raised the question, I do know this can be a controversial (and emotional!!!) subject.......My personal take from all the exchanges is that yes perhaps we should always pay the Gratuity irrespective as there are indeed a lot of staff who work behind-the-scene and a lot who are good even if we may have received not so good service from a few, and it is unfair to penalise all for a perhaps just a handful bad minority. Beyound that, may be we just leave it to individuals and one just follows what you heart tells you :).
  3. Dear Paulchili, thank you so much for the enlightenment! Yes, totally understood now. Makes perfect sense! Didnt' realise Oceania allows guests to make one reservation per specialty; thought each couple is only allowed to book a max of two only. Thank you again!
  4. Sorry.....am still somewhat confused :(. Question remains: if each couple is allowed to book only two specialty, given the quota is already used up by joining the other couple, how can four nights be reserved? Did you mean one can book a table of four under his/her quota but the quota of the "invited" couple will not be used?? Grateful enlighten me.
  5. So, on Oceania, with another couple, we are allowed to book up to 4 nights pre-cruise then?? I thought once another couple had booked two nights (for table of four) "inviting" us to join, our quota will already be used up as well and we are not allowed to book any more - that is the case with Regent Seven Seas. Is that not the case with Oceania??
  6. Tipping is always a controversial (and at times emotional!!) subject I know, but I'll ask anyway! Can fellow frequent Oceania Cruisers advise if it is a common practice to tip Room attendants and waiters in restaurants in Oceania, over and on top of the Gratuity? Regent adopts and advocates a No-tipping policy (any extra guests want to contribute goes to a common pool); other Cruise lines don't have such policy and I do know many Cruisers tip extra. So, any advice specifically for Oceania will be much appreciated.
  7. Dear flossie009, thanks! Understood. Thank you for the response.
  8. Hahahaha so basically no limit at all!!! Sounds great! But are additional bookings can only be made each morning for that particular day? Grateful for your enlightenment.
  9. Dear Travelcat2, thank you for your quick response. Does that mean there is literally no limit as to how many additional dining reservations I can make, as long as I am flexible on time :)??
  10. Am going onto a 12-nite Voyager cruise. I understand that we are only allowed to make one reservation booking per Specialty restaurant prior to boarding. But after we get on the Ship, is there any limitation on how many bookings we can make in the whole trip, in total and/or per Specialty? Grateful prior fellow Voyager cruisers can share your experience. Many thanks!
  11. Am going onto a 11-nite Marina cruise come May. I understand that we are only allowed to make one reservation booking per Specialty restaurant prior to boarding. But after we get on the Ship, is there any limitation on how many bookings we can make in the whole trip, in total and/or per Specialty? Grateful prior fellow Marnina cruisers can share your experience. Many thanks!
  12. Dear fabnfortysomethin, thank you for your advice. Understood!
  13. We shall be ending our Cruise in Barcelona and will spend a few days there. We shall be staying in town in Gran Hotel Torre Catalunya. We are a party of four with four large luggage. Will there be taxis large enough to hold all of us and the four luggage, or is it better to arrange private transfer to the hotel?? Ditto question from the Hotel to the Airport when we depart. Any advice will be greatly appreciated!!
