I watched a lot of videos on YT about Taino Bay, the pools , the lazy river, the monkeys, etc... and nobody mentionned lockers.

The lazy river is new, in the past few months, so it may still be a work in progress.

Guess I'll find out when we get there on Saturday...

I could only get OBC to use once on board, and by then, it might be too late to get the desired excursions. I now have to pay for excursions and then get a statement credit.

Choose the “cruise discount” instead of OBC, and then once applied to your reservation, book your excursions using that credit balance to pay, as long as you haven’t made final payment yet.

You do not choose a boarding time. You choose a check in time. Boarding begins around 11:30 and is based on numbers given out when you check in, unless you have a priority.

Yep, I could have been more specific... your boarding time will be determined by your check-in time, which you can choose when you complete your e-docs. Chalk it up to Monday morning brain, with just 1 more work-Monday before cruising.

Hi everyone, new to Norwegian and first time cruising as a Florida resident.  We will be driving to PC and planning to arrive around 9am or earlier.  I believe check in will begin around that time, what time does boarding begin?  Also, how does the process work...will we board based on when we arrived at the port or some other way?  Thanks everyone, we are excited!

You will choose your boarding time when you complete your check-in online 21 days before you sail.

Michelob Ultra most of the time.   Mudslides, Chocolate Grasshoppers, Bushwackers, and just about anything with a  decent quality vodka in it when I want something different.

Looking at the most recent bar list (just put out last month) Ultra isn't on there any more... can anyone confirm?

I found "Dark and Stormy" on a Princess cruise, but everyone makes it.  Simple, Ginger Beer, Dark Rum and a splash of lime.  All depends on the type of rum.  Definitely call out Goselins.  Meyers is acceptable substitute.  Great for pre-dinner.

A proper Dark 'N Stormy is ALWAYS Gosling's Rum... they created it, and it's trademarked.  Anything else is just not a Dark 'N Stormy. (And it's how I start EVERY cruise, within 5 minutes of embarkation! 😉 Cheers!

I have a couple of questions-

When you do this can you still select your balcony cabin or is it assigned by NCL?

Do you get the same "free at sea benefits" as if you booked the balcony direct (2 specialty meals)?

When you book the inside room, book for the same subcategory that you want for a balcony room. (i.e, if you book the lowest inside category, you’ll get the lowest balcony category.) I always have an idea of exactly which room I want, I make sure it’s still available, and then when I call the rewards people (with the deck plan up on my computer for reference) I specifically ask if I can have that particular room. I’ve always had good luck with a good phone rep.

You do NOT get the additional specialty dining, but, do the math. On our upcoming 10-day cruise, through the upgrade alone (before the $900 in additional discount reward credits) I saved over $2k… for that savings, I’ll pay for my own additional!

  8. I put absolutely EVERYTHING on my NCL card (cell phone, internet bill, car insurance, medical bills, EVERYTHING), to maximize my points. Have been doing this for years. Pay it off in full every month so you don't have any interest charges.

I do the double meta upgrade (from inside to balcony) for 60K points.

You book the inside stateroom, then call the rewards # to use your 60K in points and update your reservation to a balcony. Then, you take whatever else you have in points at the time, and apply it to that same reservation # as a cruise discount.  (Remember, you're going to get triple points for your deposit and for pre-paying your gratuities, so do this before you make your final points redemption)

Don't make your final payment until the due date, so that you can keep redeeming your earned points for additional discount to be applied.  We're doing 10 days in June for a ridiculously small amount thanks to this!

oops, I meant shore excursions. Looking at Bliss or Encore anyone want to give me a recommendation? Also looking for recommendations on do it yourself shore excursions.

Best excursion we did was the Yukon Bus Tour with Frontier Excursions and Adventures.  All-day small-group tour that was worth every penny! https://www.frontierexcursions.com/tour/yukon-discovery-tour/

When the courses at home are covered with snow, it's worthwhile writing about anywhere you can play!

You've definitely got a point there. Enjoy!

Coconuts for tee box markers, certainly don't see those in Ontario!

Key West Golf Club is the closest golf course and is on Stock Island, about 6 miles away.  I know nothing about it beyond its existence

That's the only one there is.  It's OK... nothing to write home about.

  12. Following, as we are on the 6/8 itinerary as well.

So far, we've booked a rainforest/volcano hike in St. Kitts, and a day-long small group eco-tour in Antigua, (but not through NCL) and will download a waking tour guide for San Juan.  Not sure what else we'll do yet. We live near beautiful beaches 24/7/365, so we'd rather get out and explore.

Same experience. Booked on the Sky for June 8th and there have been only 36 excursions since we originally booked in August.

We're on June 8 as well!

(My plan is to ditch the NCL excursions altogether and book on our own.  We've already got a few things booked privately.   The $50 just isn't worth it to us.)

Yeah, tried looking at the map and these old eyes wouldn't focus that well.  Thanks for the information.

Click on the "DOWNLOAD MAP" button on their page, which will download a PDF that you can zoom in on as much as you want...

My first priority when visiting KW was to head to Kermits - not the one at the pier, but the shop further away and get a frozen key lime pie, dipped in dark chocolate, on a stick  - best lunch ever!  Have someone take your picture in front of the big pie wedge out front of the shop. Lots of other foods to sample too.

    Darcy

The big pie wedge is currently in front of the Front Street location (which is close to Mallory Square). At the harbor location, where you can get lunch, you want to get your photo taken with the man himself! He's generally there til 3'ish every day.
