  1. Thanks so much for the information - I am fine with cool and rainy.
  2. Greetings, Experienced cruiser from NCL who decided to try the 4-Day Long-Beach to Ensanada itinerary. I have read a few posts regarding this itinerary. Has anyone sailed during December? What kind of weather did you have? Are the ships decorated for Christmas? I understand there could either be a party vibe, but that does not bother us. Boarding times - seems like Carnival you book a time to show up? Parking options besides the garage? Whats the earliest you have gotten off the boat? Thanks in advance for any responses.
  3. Days 5-6 Sea Days Spent our mornings working out, having breakfast at Haven and lounging around the pool. Evening cocktail hour at the bar and dinner and a show. And maybe some time in the casino. Our final night we saw Choir of Man – a MUST. A total MUST for any cruiser. Some couples commented they saw it several times. Thoughts – A great cruise as always. Met some great people. After sailing on breakaway class ships the last two cruises, we are ready for a smaller experience. I am excited to learn more as the Leonardo class comes out in the next few years. A blend of the breakaway experience with the jewel class size. Our concierge could have been more attentive. His assistance was more involved in out day to day lives then he was. The two Haven bartenders Bronko and Shah were the best we have had. Very attentive, personable and made great drinks. Food at Cagney’s and Le Bristo excellent as always. We tried Tapas and it was also very good. Teppanyaki is – well teppanyaki. Sent from my iPhone using Tapatalk
  4. Day 3 – Great Stirrup Cay. Awesome experience. Purchased a small cabana. A little pricey, but enjoyed that our breve age package worked on the island. Buffet lunch of burgers, hot dogs provided near the beach. Did not make it to the larger buffet of Abado Taco. Day 4 – Nassau Canaveral had two boats in port, so it wasn’t TOO crowded. Excursion to Blue Lagoon. After some chaos (there were probably a few hundred of us) loaded onto boats and after a 20-minute boat ride arrived at the private island. BEAUTIFUL. They first dock and let the “animal” excursions of first and pivot the boat to let the beach goers off. Off to the right is a private “VIP” area with day beds for $56 and a buffet lunch. We opted for this upgrade. But in all honesty, you could find a beach chair almost anywhere and have a great time without purchasing upgrades. They have umbrellas, clam shells, water sports and other beach areas available for purchase. They are completing some upgrades and adding onto Serenity Cove. Sent from my iPhone using Tapatalk
  5. Day 1 – Sea Day Sea days, my favorite. Woke up and made it to the gym. The work out facilities on Escape are very night. They had plenty of cardio machines and never had to wait. After working out we headed to Haven and had breakfast. The food in Have is always top notch. Also had our cruise Critic meet and mingle Day 2 – Cape Canaveral We arrived two hours early to assist an ill passenger in leaving the ship. No excursions. Spent our day laying around the Haven courtyard. Tried some slides in the Aqua Park (not the free fall one). Something that was new to us was lunch service around the pool, like pool service at resorts. Very relaxing to be able to stay in your lounger and stuff your face with burgers and fries (LOL). Of course, throughout the cruise we experienced a couple of chair hogs, but plenty of space for everyone. Sent from my iPhone using Tapatalk
  6. They have an option (on board) now where you can buy premium unlimited internet per device, about $25 per device per day. If you wanted multiple connected per day that might be an option, or switch between each device Sent from my iPhone using Tapatalk
  7. They had two different offering, one in the super club with dinner and the other in the main theater. Hope that helps Sent from my iPhone using Tapatalk
  8. Well - having issues uploading photos - so again I will wait till I am back on the ship or on land. Till next time. Sent from my iPhone using Tapatalk
  9. Greetings from Blue Lagoon Island in Nassau. Some quick updates while we have good WiFi. I’ll post more when I get home. We made it to Great Stirrup Cay - the first time in four weeks. Amazing island, though still littered with areas of construction. Crew said the contractor indicated six months for the Haven area to open up. I commend the crew for having to schlep all the food and drink to the island twice. Of course having a great time in Haven. Found our favorite bartender Shaw Haven Area Sent from my iPhone using Tapatalk
  10. Sail Away We left Pier 88 around 1545 and were off. It was freezing. There is something majestic about a city skyline trimmed in clouds. During our muster drill the captain announced that we would be sailing through a squall. Our luggage arrived around 1730. We unpacked and proceeded to have some drinks before our show. I love a good martini and appreciate that Haven bartenders stir a proper martini. We saw David Gleason, comedic magician, in the Supper Club. Dinner was complimentary. Consisting of three courses, one of which is salmon. They had a non-fish option. Spare ribs. Very good. The show was also funny and interactive. Off to bed - as mentioned. The boat was a rocking last night. Sent from my iPhone using Tapatalk
  11. Embarkation We hailed an Uber and started our adventure to the port. Traffic was backed up, not only from the passengers debarking but those of us trying to get there. NYPD was our and directing traffic, took about 15 mins to get through traffic. Luggage taken by the porter and through security with ease. Checked in with The Haven. The area for pre boarding was small, and they kept running out of glasses. We were Haven boarding group 5. Once onboard we explored The Haven, met our concierge David and made some reservations we forgot about. Lunch in Haven - delicious. Sent from my iPhone using Tapatalk
  12. The 250 minutes is valued at $125, and is subtracted from the total unlimited value of $244. Decided not to upgrade and used our money towards some other excursions. Will post along as I can. Sent from my iPhone using Tapatalk
  13. Thank you for the tip ! Just downloaded it before we started leaving. Sent from my iPhone using Tapatalk
  14. Hello Fellow NCL Cruises Tomorrow my husband and I are leaving from NY on the Escape for a 7-night Bahamas cruise and I thought I’d try and do a semi-live post and review of our experience. This is our 6th cruise with NCL and third time in The Haven Bear with me - I miss the third party blog apps that use to function with Cruise Critic. Background: Like I said our sixth cruise with NCL. We are from Tucson AZ. We flew into NY yesterday and have had a fun time exploring the city (this is our second time here). Ship: We are booked in an H7. I also plan on upgrading our WiFi to have unlimited so I can post onboard. We are booked for a small Cabana in GSC and the Aquaadventure at Atlantis. Here is slme photos of our NY adventures.
  15. We have the 250 minute promo on our sailing Escape 2/24. Do they still offer the upgrade option to unlimited for xx $$ ?
