  1. Just a quick question - We've finished online registration for our Feb 16 2020 Allure cruise. We can print out our boarding pass, but not our luggage tags. Does RCI not allow them to be printed out til a certain time? If so, why? When can we expect to be have them available? Inquiring minds want to know 🙂
  2. We'll be arriving on the Allure OTS on February 20, 2020. We will be the only cruise ship scheduled that day. My question is, which of the piers will we dock at? On the maps I see Cruise Pier 1, Cruise Pier 3, Cruise Pier 4, and Cruise Pier 6. Anyone have any idea which one? TIA!
  3. Once again, thank you for the information 🙂 Much appreciated.....
  4. We last cruised RCI in 2015 (Serenade OTS out of NOLA). We're sailing on the Allure next February, and I was wondering what the process is to request a table for 2? We have the early dining selected, which I think means we will be dining in either the Silk or Grande MDRs. Do we contact the maitre 'd after we board to get a table for 2, or is it something we do when we are allowed to finish our in-processing at 90 day out? TIA for any answers you might have...
  5. Well, we were notified yesterday that our Feb 16 cruise on the Allure will be going to San Juan instead of St Thomas. A little disappointed, but we've never been to either port, so we still get to experience something new. We booked originally because we've never been on an Oasis class ship before, so we still have that going for us 🙂 But, with only 6 hours in port, we will probably not be doing an excursion. So, for those that have been to San Juan before, what is there to do near the port? I know the fort is close by, which I will probably be interested in. Is there shopping close by? Restaurants? Are there taxis available to go to other parts of the town? Any info you could give would be appreciated 🙂
  6. Thanks for the information. 🙂
  7. If anyone has been on the Sunshine since 5/17/2019, could you confirm who the CD is? The listing I have shows Adam Cornes as CD until October 10, when Michael Gibson replaces him.
  8. DW and I, along with our niece and her 11 month old daughter will be at Half Moon Cay August 26th. Are there beach umbrellas available for rental? Some shade for the baby would be nice....
  9. Hmmm, guess I'll buy them separately and keep checking to see if the price changes....
  10. They have offered a Soda plus VOOM package for our February Allure package. But, if you purchase them separately, they are actually $12 cheaper. It doesn't say on the web page, but I'm wondering if the VOOM package being offered is the Surf & Stream package, and not the Surf only package? That would make the package less expensive...
  11. So, wouldn't taking the Allure out for a week to fix the azipod problem have less economic impact to St Thomas that several months worth of missed port calls?
  12. We're booked on the Allure for February 16. Appears to me that RCI is trying to limp along without addressing the propulsion problem, hoping the other azipods will last until the March dry dock. Hopefully we don't see any "Allure Adrift At Sea Due To Propulsion Failure" headlines anytime soon....
  13. Tru dat 🙂 I think our biggest worry right now is the azipod problems on the Allure. Alot of summer cruises having their itineraries changed, droppping St Thomas or St Maarten, and substituting San Juan. Since the Allure is scheduled for dry dock in March next year, seems like RCI is trying to limp along til then...
  14. Good point about cancelling and reordering when price goes down. Thanks!
  15. A quick question for you seasoned Royal Caribbean cruisers. RCI has just posted the VOOM packages for our Feb 16 Allure cruise. Are the prices for these packages pretty well set, or will they fluctuate, like the Deluxe Beverage package does? Right now VOOM Surf package for one device is $12.99 per day, curious on whether it will stay at that price...
  16. DW and I are sailing on the Sunshne in August out of Charleston. I was wondering where one enters the port? I've heard that passengers with private vehicles enter at one place (Concord and Laurens) and cruisers in taxis, vans, and buses enter at 32 Washington St. Is this correct? Have also heard that the port won't accept passengers till 11 AM. Might have to adjust our arrival time to avoid the 11 AM rush...
  17. Glad I found this thread, it was beginning to look like ther were only threads about sailing out of NYC 😝 DW and I, along with our 11 year old nephew, will be sailing on the Sunshine on August 24. Have never sailed out of Charleston before, hopefully you all can answer a few questions from this Illinois Yankee 🙂 1) We're stopping overnight in Columbia, expect to get to the port around 10:30. When does the terminal open to allow passengers to enter? We can adjust our arrival time to accommodate the opening time. 2) How quickly does the indoor parking at the port fill up? Outdoor parking is not a problem, but if we can get indoor parking that would be nice. Going to spend some time this evening going thru this thread to get some information, any additional you could give us would be greatly appreciated...
  18. We are planning a cruise in August on the Sunshine, and considering having our 11 year old nephew sail with us. Other than a notarized birth certificate for him, and a letter from his parents giving us permission to take him, what other documentation would we need?
  19. We'll be driving to Ft Lauderdale for our Allure OTS cruise in February 2020. Our planned route will be using the Florida Turnpike. For those with experience on using the turnpike, would it be a good idea to open a Sunpass account and get a transponder, or just use cash at the toll booths? The Sunpass seems to be very convenient, just want to see what everyone thinks. Thanks!
  20. My wife and I are looking for ways to keep our items secure at the beach while swimming. We've heard about the KYSS bags, but we're wanting other people's ideas on the subject. We were looking at this "safe" on Amazon, anyone have an opiniob/advice? https://www.amazon.com/FlexSafe-Portable-Packable-Resistant-Version/dp/B07GVRTZH9/ref=pd_ybh_a_3?_encoding=UTF8&psc=1&refRID=G7RTZJFMWGJS728SEG1T
  21. Yeah, our cruise is in February 2020, the app says to check when we are closer to our cruise time. Guess I'll do some searching here and on some Allure pages I found on the site that shall not be named 🙂
  22. I have downloaded all the menus for the MDR ( Mojo, Saffron, Jasmine, etc). Is there a set rotation for these menus? Such as, Sunday is Mojo, Monday is Saffron, etc. I was hoping to find out prior to our cruise so I can plan other activities on nights we find the menus lacking. Thanks!
  23. I was wondering if Montego Bay had a shopping area at the port, similar to Falmouth or Cozumel? We're doing a Great River rafting excursion in the morning, and wanted to do some shopping in the afternoon. I've heard that Montego Bay doesn't have much right at the port. Any info would be appreciated 🙂
  24. Well, there are now some excursions posted. Guess I'd better check the St. Maarten and St Johns boards to see what excursions are recommended. At least it's something 🙂
