Rest assured you are not the only one bidding for an upgrade on your cruise. I suspect a large number bid the minimum and cross their fingers. I have also read here that folks who got the same message as you and didn’t up their bid still got an upgrade. That may not be the norm though. Are you that kind of gambler? I guess it depends on how badly you want it. I’d bump 5 or 10 bucks and hope that lifted me above the masses.
We’ve ended up skipping a few shows rather than deal with the crowds even arriving 30 minutes early. It was clear the remaining seats were singles or nonexistent. I would pay to have a seat waiting for me up until 15 minutes before the show starts. It doesn’t have to be in the best location. I just want to arrive at the theater knowing I have 2 seats together.
Well, there is a couch. It sleeps one if opened. There is a second television set. And extra space. With a curtain for privacy. I think that’s about it.
The difference between categories is based on location.
I just booked 2 nights post cruise in April. Per my TA, nothing was available through Princess. I booked the Hyatt downtown on my own at around $300 a night. You can pay less in other areas but I have not found Vancouver hotels to be priced cheaply as a rule.
We chose a balcony for last year’s Alaska cruise. There is nothing like standing just outside the cabin sliding door wearing that thick terry robe and sipping on a glass of wine while viewing the majesty of our 49th state. We value comfort and privacy. Your values may differ.
Has anyone gotten credit for watching the video in a friends cabin? I made my grandkids watch with their parents rather than in my cabin and risk having to do it over. But it would make sense that they got credit for watching wherever their medallions were.
I don’t know that you can trust the app prior to boarding. It does show a muster station, but mine changed after I boarded. It may just be a placeholder.
Was there no third or fourth choice? I have been under the pool deck on another Princess ship and it was quiet (it was Alaska) but Enchanted in June would have been another story. But I’d rather deal with noise during the day than at night.
