  1. About 15 cruises ago, my Autistic son had a seizure at dinner the first night. We never saw our table mates again and, though I never mentioned it, we have never been seated with anyone but our family again. And slightly off the subject, but if someone seated at a large table gets there at the earliest possible time do they have to wait for people in their table to all arrive before ordering and getting their food?
  2. How about a $500 fine on first offense, followed by being dropped off at nearest port and being forced to find a way home on their second offense.
  3. I LOVE the Lido marketplace lunch buffet. I think 3 or 4 entree options are more than enough. The salad bar is fresh and varied, and I love having the soft ice cream, not the gelato on the plate with my cake. I also think the food, both included and extra, are incredible for what we pay for these cruises. I also think that 3 or 4 videos of "drunksgone wild' is not a huge ammount for a cruise that offers the"Cheers" program. Also, when I watched these videos, it seems to me that pretty much everyone who was involved in them did so by choice. I saw no old people relaxing on the lido deck being pulled into any of the craziness or any mothers with small children being forced into them. Here's the biggie. I love the bigger ships but wish they had just a little Joe Farcus in their decor.
  4. I am so excited for it next month! Thank you so much!
  5. Does anyone know what the movies will be in November. We will be on the Panorama on November 12-19.
  6. I do always smell some mj while on a cruise, a few cigarettes being sneaked outside of allowed space, quite a few extroverts who seem to find it neccesary to drink their full 15 allowed limit on Cheers and to seem to want everyone else to know it, some arguments, etc, but nothing EVER that made me feel my life was in danger or anyone elses was either. Or anything so offensive that I felt something "Needed to Be Done." Maybe I've just been lucky. These stories on here sound terrifying though. Are they mostly on super short cruises? We'll be moving next year to an area where we would be close enough to a couple of cruise ports to justify 3 or 4 day cruises, but wouldn't want to chance it if there is a good chance of being attacked as my husband and I are both elderly and my adult son is disabled.
  7. I've read that Marty Andrew will be the cruise director on my Panorama cruise November 12. I plan some of my activities on the cruise based on the style of the cruise director. I am old, in my 70's, and whether or not I plan for some crazy dancing or not depends on the cd style. Can someone tell me about Marty Andrew so I can know if I should plan on relaxing poolside or getting ready for a wild time. thank you
  8. I think they'll keep calling it a brunch until they decide whether the reduced hours are temporary or not. If it is decided to make it truly permanent, I imagine it will be change to Sea Day breakfast. I have the opposite problem of many people here. I still find the selection so varied that it is with GREAT difficulty I keep from gaining weight. [and my BMI is already so close to overweight. kind of wish there were a few less glorious selection, lol]
  9. try to think of it as an extended, romantic, "date night."
  10. where will I find the dreamsicle [or maybe it's called the creamsicle]? I ussually only have three drinks per cruise, a Bailey's Irish cream, somehing chocolatey, and the dreamsickle/creamsickle]
  11. I don't think of a Carnival Cruise as a "dollar tree' or Motel '6' experience. But I do consider it more on par with a Quality Inn or Comfort Inn as far as quality goes. Quality Inn has way more than doubled in price in the past 25 years, whereas Carnival costs pretty much the same. I like Quality Inn's breakfast buffet, free parking, and no "guest service fee," as you find in more expensive places. Quality Inn has no room service fee, as there is no room service. Pricier hotels generally do have room service, generally at ridiculously high costs. Carnival has a low food service fee. We also have a timeshare in Las Vegas, which can be a good deal if you actually use it and don't buy it from a timeshare representative. Our mainenance fee has gone up alot too. We also used to get room cleaning service twice a day, then once a day, then twice a week. Now, if you want someone to take care of your room it's $100 a day. I'm okay with that. Owners were the ones who voted to keep maintenece fees lower by eliminating housekeeping services. It's a cutback that keeps our yearly costs lower. If Carnival needs to make cuts to stay afloat and be a vacation the vast majority of people can afford with some [a little, or alot] of counting the pennies, that's okay with me. It's the only way I'll afford to continue cruising. If you want to get more, then pay more, go somewhere else. That's fine. That's awesome. I just don't get how, if you're "done with Carnival." why not just be done and stop complaining. It makes no sense to me.
  12. On the first formal night of the cruise, everyone in our group dresses up "a little bit." For me that means a cocktail dress, small heels, doing something with my hair and applying a bit of makeup. Second formal night, I wear a simple and loose sundress, flat sandals, throw a scrunchie in my frizzy "cruise hair" [to avoid scaring anyone] and no makeup. I check the rest of the group to make sure no one is wearing flip-flops, muscle shirts, t-shirts or cut-offs and we're good to go. You'll be fine.
  13. I miss schwartz. I will epecially miss his "dirty dancing" leap. we were lucky enough to have him for a full 2 week journey cruise and he had this old lady dancing with moves hadn't thought about since the disco era. so, our next cd is marty andrew on the panorama. i've never heard of him. does anyone know much about him?
  14. Our 14 year old grandson will be with us on our Nov 12, Panorama cruise. He is super excited and was wanting to know if there will be any scheduled dance parties in the circle c. Thanks
  15. I love the idea of a steakhouse brunch! I personally won't use it but for those looking for a little more "class" or an upscale feel on their cruise it could be a great thing. If Carnival would make $10 or $15 on each meal, it got popular enough to be available 2 or 3 times a cruise, multipled by the number of people partaking in each ship, times the total ammount of sailings each week, it could add a sizable bit of revenue to help payoff the debt Carnival is carrying now. I know, just a "drop in the bucket," but every bucket is filled with [a multitude] of drops anyway. Gotta start somewhere.
  16. Thanks. According to the message sent to our phone we are to check in 90 days before our cruise. It actually says August 14 is our earliest chek in day. I was a bit freaked out after I read that and when I went to my online booking, because of the mesage sent, I accidentally read the check in date as August 27 rather than october 27. I still don't understand the reason for the message sent to our phone, though.
  17. The deluxe ocean view bathtubs are deep and not long at all, but I love them! I just sink my torso into the water and relax my legs against the wall. I ussually take 2 baths a day when on a cruise with a bathtub. We live in a small village with extreme water restrictions so we take very brief showers and we don't even have a bathtub in our home. when it's my turn to decide between a bathtub and a balcony I always choose the bathtub.
  18. We will be sailing on the Carnival Panorama for a week cruise on November 12. We are platinum so I guess we get to check-in 2 days early. Online, it says I can check in on August 27 but Carnival keeps sending messages to my phone that I can check-in 90 days before my cruise, which would be tommorrow/ WHich is correct? And should I check in over the phone or on their site? Thanks
  19. Since we started cruising on Carnival 26 years ago there have been so many cutbacks and so many additions. Balancing them out I would take current cutbacks and additions. Bring in the price, adjusted for inflation, and we get so much more today than back then. Right now Carnival is fighting for survival. Covid, and now inflation has impacted many of us. Carnival much more than most of us. I always loved teatime so we're thinking of putting our own together with daughter, grand daughter and great grand daughter if they come with us on our November 12 Panorama cruise. We will have a couple of teen boys with us, so we will get a couple of sandwiches and cookies from the deli and put in fridge. If they aren't eaten that night they can be breakfast the next day. We always order coffee on boarding day. I keep the tray and the coffee pot so that I can fill both of them for later in order not to cause more extra work for those who deliver room service. We'll be better than good. We don't expect luxuries because Carnival is not a luxury cruise line. I prefer it that way. I remember when they would pull our chairs out to be seated for dinner, there were tablecloths that my kids [or I] would invariably spill drinks on, and would take one sip of water and immediately someone would be filling my water glass up which actually made me uncomfortable because if they were looming that close they could probably hear all private conversations as well. I'm glad that Carnival is not a luxury line and I'm also glad that there are luxury lines for those who enjoy that experience.
  20. I would never go in a nudist cruise for several reasons and I have been a nudist for about 6 decades now. I wouldn't go for a variety of reasons. For years people at our resort would ask us, knowing how much we love to cruise, why we never went on the annual nude cruise. For one, they're easily three times more expensive. Two, ussually take place on older ships when I prefer newer. Three, It's a totally different atmosphere than our grounded club was. our grounded club was very family oriented. no swinging, no physical interaction other than hugs. children well protected. everyone in the club was well vetted when anyone can go on a nude cruise. Four, and most important, there are no kids allowed, which is fine because I don't like my kids to be surrounded by strangers. But when we cruise we ussually bring a kid or a grandkid along [and soon, great-grandkids, we have 5 now] So, despite being a nudist, no to a nude cruise.
  21. I would like to bring a blender so I can make my smoothies in the morning. I couldn't find it on the prohibited list so should I bring it?
  22. I also love the oceanview deluxe rooms with the 2 bathrooms and a bathtub. I love the comedy club, the changing scene "thingy" in the atriums on the Vista class, the jogging track, the ambiance at tea time and the skyride. When I want some solitude without going to my cabin the library is ny favorite place on the ship.
  23. I keep reading about the funfetti cheesecake and the creme brulee. I'l have to try them on my cruise in November. I keep promising husband I'll try new things. These 2 are at top of list
