  1. This is a random question and a long shot but I’m wondering if anyone knows the brand and name of the bar snack mix they give you at the Martini bar on the Ascent? It has corn nuts, little bread sticks, rice cracker things, and has a nice seasoning flavor on it. We loved gobbling it down while enjoying our martinis each night. I want to see if I can order some if anyone happens to know what kind this is. Thanks!
  2. @chiguypaul are they enforcing boarding times at Port Everglades for the Odyssey? We got a 12:30pm boarding time but I’d like to try and get to the port around 11:45.
  3. Technically you are correct, however I would never do it that way because if the customer were to make a payment on their cruise with a different credit card it could then put the OBC in jeopardy of being revoked. I just don’t chance it, so that’s why I wait until after final payment is completed.
  4. Just saw a news report on this tonight. The renewal times are indeed back to normal!
  5. yes you have to wait until final payment. They need to see that you made all payments with the applicable Platinum Amex card.
  6. Just book for two passengers. Take your friend George Glass who has something suddenly come up and doesn’t show up for the cruise.
  7. E class ships don’t work like other ships. You just go to any of the four dining rooms any night, at any time. No reservations needed.
  8. Amex often has offers where if you spend like $1,500 you get 25,000 Amex points. I just paid off two Royal Cruises and of course now the offer is showing on my card. So purchasing OBC is kind of a loophole here.
  9. Can I load all $1,500 to the slot machine at once and cash out? (Yes, I realize the casino will freeze my account from any further loading).
  10. Just bumping this thread a bit to see if anyone has purchased OBC recently and then cashed it out on the ship if not used? I need to purchase some to redeem an AMEX offer but want to make sure there are no issues with getting it refunded once onboard.
  11. Yes, Only on E class. On Equinox (S Class), if you selected the early 6pm dining, then you will have an assigned dining room and same table every night.
  12. Exactly. The website just has old standard language. Once onboard it’s totally up to you where and when you dine.
  13. On E class there are not set times or assign dining rooms, you just go to any of the four at any time. If you like the traditional approach, just pick one of them and ask to have the same waiter each evening. They will put you down for reservations and the same waiter.
  14. Definitely keep the sunset veranda! It’s so nice to be able to relax outside on an actual balcony and enjoy those views.
  15. Nope, slight warmth and nothing. I stood in there for a minute to see but no. No one ever was in it.
  16. We are in Aqua Class on Ascent on this first sailing so we have it included in our room, but I would not pay even $10 for access to it if we didn’t get it as part of our room. The sauna is cold, the other two crystal and salt rooms are cold, the hammam room was the only decently warm one, the steam room was meh. The walk through shower thing was fun and smelled super good though. Heated loungers were decent. It’s really too bad because it’s a nice space and very relaxing atmosphere but the rooms are worthless.
  17. We are in Aqua Class and the colors in those rooms are bright orange. I like the yellow better.
  18. No charges for the sandwiches. Again they are TINY. They are in the normal case with the rest of the pastries. Not sure how cool it is.
  19. We are on Ascent also and can confirm the little sandwiches at Baccio. Don’t get too excited about these, they are very small maybe like two bites and pretty basic. Good if you need a little bite with a coffee but that’s about it. Lemon tarts are present today too and boy are they good as ever!
  20. We are on the Ascent right now and our Thanksgiving menu is exactly the same.
  21. We are onboard this sailing as well and our biggest gripe at this point is our cabin steward and the lack of service. It’s almost 10pm and our room has not been made up yet. We have been out of the room since about 5pm so I’m not sure why it’s taking this long. I tracked him down as he was cleaning another room and I asked for fresh towels and got them. Bartenders can be a bit slow in some bars on the ship, which is also a bit odd. I would have thought they would have brought over the best of the best crew from other ships onto their new ship. Hopefully things will pick up. Food has been good so far and good service in MDRs and in Blu.
