We were also on this sailing
“Future MD dinner menus on the app. I spoke to two dining room managers early in the cruise. Both confirmed that this wasn’t right and both promised to address it. Nothing ever happened. Only the current day’s menu appeared, regardless of which date you were pulling up.”
we minded this at first and then later didn’t mind the surprise every day. Some new entrees and desserts appeared which were nice surprises.

Captain Paolo Arrigo announced he is disembarking the Ruby tomorrow in Barbados. I’ll update with the new captain’s name.

Does anyone with an upcoming cruise see events in the new app? I have a cruise on Saturday and neither app shows any events yet.

Noro generally spreads among elderly people very quickly due to several reasons.
They have weaker immune systems due to age primarily.
The majority of people with a normal healthy immune system will not be floored by Noro....they will, however, if they are super sanitised and have weakened themselves that way.
Buffets dont cause Norovirus
Buffets don't cause norovirus but buffets spread norovirus.
Norovirus 2024: Highly Contagious Stomach Bug Is Spiking In US (today.com)
An entire school closed down because of Norovirus. Elderly people and people with compromised immune systems are more likely to die because of norovirus but it affects all the same (I believe there was someone from Cruise Critic a couple years ago who's partner died of Norovirus a couple weeks into their bucket list world cruise). 24-48 hrs of making the bathroom your living area.- 2

My recent cruises had never shown MUTS in the daily schedule before we embarked but were in the daily event listing once onboard.
We sail on 3/8 and the daily schedule is still empty 😅

A small note on "Free at Sea" things from NCL - the taxes/fees tend to be prohibitive. Also, we found some things that are cheap on Princess (bottled water) are much more expensive on NCL.

No. The Majestic does not have a pizza bar near the main swimming pool. Pool pizza is still free.

What venues are you thinking will be closed?

On the Caribbean now. Seems back to pre-Covid levels even for non-essential crew functions (I swear there are 20 photographers on board - they've even restarted photographers at dinner, something I really hoped died with Covid)

I don’t have the unlimited premium dessert package but am usually successful in asking the crew at Coffee and Cones for a cup of ice cream with a little bit of strawberry syrup on it - which is what I want more than the abominations that the premium desserts are.

Sophie Gideon just made an announcement for this evening so she is indeed on the Caribbean. Probably picked us up today in Boston.

You replied to my post so I replied to yours. I thought we were having a conversation but I’m apparently mistaken. Apologies.

On our cruise in April, it was the ED whose picture was missing (she was new to the ship that cruise). It later appeared. I was told that they do not display the officer until the have a Platinum Studio photo of the officer.
I’m not sure Sophie actually made it on board. The announcements are from the ED and the wake show has been just a 10 min video from the ACDs.

We’re currently on the Caribbean Princess and not only do they have the new coffee in the IC and buffet but they also have cans of cold brew in the IC and coffee and cones. This is huge for someone who can’t stomach iced americanos (too acidic) and has been lugging on concentrate for the last 5 years.

I brought cards, books and my iPad with some board game adaptations for our cruise to Hawaii (where it was much too cool to be outside)
-
I had the original R and a 100-300 EF lens w/ the adapter for my first alaska cruise. I would say it was... adequate. I took my 100-500 lens the last time and loved it. Keep in mind the 100-400 is not as weather resistant. It all depends on how you look at the trip. Is it "once in a lifetime"? Do you want those memorable shots?

$5 for someone to buy an envelope, print a label, tape it up and drive to the post office, not to mention their time, you're not going to find any takers. Not to mention fees for the transfer, PayPal goods/services, Venmo, etc. Offer $20, then you'll cover fees and supplies, gas and the person will probably net around $10 for their valuable time.
I kind of meant to imply that for "+ shipping +" - and being honest, I was kind of banking on human kindness a bit too but, sure, if more money helps the issue, I can offer more.
Speciality desserts on Princess Plus - any substitutions?

I typically just have been asking for a cup of ice cream with a little bit of raspberry/chocolate syrup on it rather than trying to get them to remove a bunch of things.
