  1. Thank you so much for that reply. I always prefer a cab and your answer answers my question. After getting off a plane, the quicker I get to a hotel, the happier I am. :D
  2. We are on the 2nd and the 9th sailings. I only need the hotel for the first sailing. I am glad I do not need it for the 9th. I just posted a message below yours asking for more help. I booked mine yesterday at the Seawall for Oct. 31 there until Nov. 2 and I am not paying anything in that price range for our room. Balcony room, etc. I was very pleased. Two nights cost less then what you posted. Then a tiny more for extra fees. But, we are seniors and do get AARP discounts. Sounds like I might stay on the ship on turn around day too. :D
  3. If anyone reads my above post and is flying into Hobby airport Galveston Texas and cruising from there before I do in November, could you post on here how it is getting cabs or shuttles from the airport to where the ships leave from? Our Seawall La Quinta Inn is located now far from the piers in the same area. Cost for two would help me plan also. Thanks for any info. Alexis
  4. Yes, that is me. We are also doing the November 9 sailing on Navigator. If I am going to pack at my age, I am making sure I get a long cruise. :D You are right about our having been in many different "ups and downs" on cruise ships in our many years. But, we roll with the waves. There is only one ship of all we have done, that we will never sail again. First time there and I am a newbie with this port. :o I need help with this: Would anyone know the prices of a shuttle or cab from Hobby airport to the Galveston Seawall West TX La Quinta Inn? Thanks for any help I get. ;) Alexis
  5. Thank you for the information. I do not sail until November but I am an early planner who likes to make sure all arrangements are done well in advance. You have helped me a lot. Thanks again, ;) Alexis
  6. We have never sailed from there and your detailed information helps. We are sailing on the RCCL Navigator and I am assuming it may leave from the same pier area as your Magic did? If so, can you give me an idea of the cost for your package with LaQuinta? Thanks for any help. Alexis
  7. November 19, 2011 DRYDOCK UPDATES Hi Albert Ross and all CC's, I have not been on here in a long time due to medical problems. I was not even sure if I was going to be able to take our two week cruise leaving next Saturday, the 3rd from San Juan. I have been given the OK and I am now hurrying to get my packing done. Many thanks to those who posted anything on CC about Dry Docks. I am sorry I was not around to it. Unfortunatly, when I return from my cruises, I will be having more surgery and will not be on here again for a while to keep it up as it should be done.
  8. We had done 14 cruises on other cruiselines. I won our first RCCL 3 day cruise in a newspaper drawing. So, on March 13, 1998 we sailed the Viking Serenade out of San Pedro and loved her crew. In 2001, we took a offer to look at a product and we were given a 3 day cruise on the Viking Serenade. On July 13, 2001 we sailed her for a second time. We have been Loyal to Royal since. I can only say, "We are very comfortable on all their ships."
  9. I think we all feel the same on here about you. ;) The Tip Calculator, the Maps, Cruise Tools, etc. Yes, you are amazing! Many thanks
  10. Mariner is scheduled for DryDock on, Mariner of the Seas 22 APR - 1 MAY 2012 If it has been changed since our last Drydock schedule, I am unaware of it. Alexis EDIT: Merion_Mom, I just read your above post to go to a thread with another date for the Mariner Drydock. I have been off the boards for several weeks and do not know if things have changed with her DryDock? Anyone know if this is definite?
  11. This is a picture of the Mariner and the Hump cabins on one side of her. Port Side. The Navigator is the same and you can see your cabin in this picture. You made A Great choice. I only book these cabins on my cruises if the ships have them. No one can see into your balcony unless they look around the divider. ;) As you can see they bow out from the ship. Location is what it's all about and a great view. These Voyager Hump cabins are the same size as any other cabin in their category and have the same size balcony. (On the Radiance class ships especially, there are Hump cabins with bigger balconies.) All of these cabins are in a great location, have a great view, have mostly private balconies because you are out further from the ship than all others, are near the elevators and the stairs, and yet there is no extra noise because of that. ;) The center Hump cabins are the prime choice with the best views. ;) This is the Voyager Class Hump cabins where all their balconies are the same size. It looks exactly like this on the other side of the hump also. The Voyager Class ships have two different types of balconies. The only two ships in the Voyager Class that have the glass balconies are the Navigator and the Mariner. The 3 others, Voyager, Explorer and Adventure have the Balconies built into the hull and are not glass. They have a small amount of glass, under the rail, for viewing, but are mostly solid.
  12. Please, do not copy or post any other DryDock schedule other than this one on this thread. Many of them are old and outdated. Unless, one comes from CC Albert Ross and has a date newer than November 16, 2010 like this one, it is old.. ;) Thank you, Alexis Please note: At the bottom of the schedule it says, "Anything without TBC is confirmed. 13. If I am correct, the last DryDock for Voyager was from May 3 -13 of 2009. She is not scheduled again until 2014. Here is the newest schedule we have for DryDocks. If there have been changes recently, I do not know them. Please, do not copy or post any other schedule other than this one on the boards. Unless it comes from Albert Ross and has a date newer than November 16, 2010. ;) Please note: At the bottom of the schedule it says, "Anything without TBC is confirmed. 14. I do not blame you in the least for your decision, I would do the same. I cannot understand the logic behind all the changes made to the ships and the schedules so often. It makes it very hard on those of us who plan well in advance and book airlines and etc. early on. I for one, always book my air 329 - 330 days out when the seating opens up. If I am using our free mileage, that is when the free seats are available. Then to change them is $150 apiece, which is highway robbery on the airlines end when RCCL changes everything.
