Using cruisefirst certificate after already booked
G-DawgMN replied to latebuyer's topic in Norwegian Cruise Line
Harsh. I guess that’s why I still only use cruise next. But if I were all out I’d probably do a cruise first if I was booking a fresh cruise. -
I’m usually a semi cheerleader but I agree with you on this. After spending big bucks on the Haven it’s a pretty blatant money grab to charge for a second tail. I really can’t see that many people that abused it.

Same day flight/transfer to Trieste by NCL
G-DawgMN replied to fun1367's topic in Norwegian Cruise Line
Flying in same day is always risky no matter when you're going. If there's a flight cancellation, missed connection or delay you're out of luck. You'll be on your own to find your way to the ship at the next port. I'm assuming it's too late to change your mind about flying in a day early at this point. -

The elusive hash browns make an appearance (well, sort of)

The big surprise is when they find out you’re all sharing an inside cabin together! -
You will get answers from $5 to $200. It’s really a personal choice. I’ve tipped anywhere from $10 for a below average steward to $80 for a very good one when in the Haven. We are also low maintenance and usually have no extra requests and aren’t messy.
-
Bingo. Ding ding ding.
-
But I would expect to tip if no gratuities were included.
-
I like to frequent the bars that give me good service before I tip. Then I’m generous.
-
But it isn’t expected. I also tip extra when I have good bar service and usually hand my favorite bartenders some bigger bills at the end of the week. It is totally a personal choice.
-
Not expected.

I'm absolutely not an attorney but this line seems to invalidate any claim you would have saying the vessel/tender isn't capable of sailing down there. It would be interesting if you can even find a class action attorney that would take this up because it would be expensive to litigate. Once again, good luck. 6. Limitations and Disclaimers of Liability: (a) THE CARRIER AND THE GUEST HEREBY AGREE THERE IS NO WARRANTY, WHETHER EXPRESS OR IMPLIED, AS TO THE FITNESS, SEAWORTHINESS, OR CONDITION OF THE VESSEL

Let us know when you file your case, I'm pretty sure you won't get anywhere since NCL has a lot of lawyers writing their contracts but you never know. As a class action lawsuit even if you win you'll probably get 10 bucks.

Beware of NCL Cruise Next certificates
G-DawgMN replied to mariocira's topic in Norwegian Cruise Line
I’m still confused why you just don’t amend your insurance claim. NCL made an error. They don’t owe you a dime. Insurance is your remedy. My sympathies for what you had to go through but you at least had the foresight to have insurance. -
Do you want to re-litigate that whole conversation? See what I did there?

Beware of NCL Cruise Next certificates
G-DawgMN replied to mariocira's topic in Norwegian Cruise Line
But they clearly made a mistake. Contact your insurance. It's right here in the terms that as a Sapphire level cruiser you should be well aware of. It states that your payment (CruiseNext) is subject to the same terms as a normal payment, IE, penalty after final payment. https://www.ncl.com/ca/en/about/terms-and-conditions/promotions To cancel a reservation made with a Credit, submit your request in accordance with Norwegian Cruise Line cancellation policies and procedures. Once a Credit is applied to a reservation, it is subject to the same cancellation policy, rules and regulations (which can be found on your reservation confirmation) as any other payment made for that reservation. If refundable, any Credit applied to a cancelled reservation will be refunded back to the guest Latitudes Rewards account minus any cancellation fees. -
Beware of NCL Cruise Next certificates
G-DawgMN replied to mariocira's topic in Norwegian Cruise Line
I'm sorry that you had to cancel your cruise. I don't think you fell into a trap, you failed to read the terms of how the certificates work and that they wouldn't be refunded after final payment. Since you have insurance why not amend your claim so that you're made whole? -
I've had the same thing happen on another thread. I found that I was happier to add them to my ignore list, it's not worth engaging.

Why should people have to read?

Tips And Tricks For Shows and Activities
G-DawgMN replied to tonyfall1's topic in Norwegian Cruise Line
For anything in Syd Norman’s people start living up outside up to 2 hours prior. You can go out on deck 8 and see in through the windows. They also pipe music outside. Comedy is the same but later in the week it doesn’t seem as busy. We came in 30 minutes prior and got decent seats. Theater had the best selection 30-45 minutes prior to the show. Our sailing had limited entertainment so crowds might have been heavier. Except Syd Norman’s, that’s always crazy. -
Yes. Wheel of fortune has replaced one showing of Six. They also added a 80s Broadway Cabaret in the Spiegel tent. Burn the floor, Syd Norman’s, and comedians were onboard. On our behind the scenes tour they said another show was coming but they had zero information on what it is. You can see all the dailies in my love report here. https://boards.cruisecritic.com/topic/2987488-taking-a-getaway-on-the-breakaway-almost-live-maybe/
