  1. I don't understand what you are asking. You mean on the pier? They run buses and vans up and down the pier on ship days I guess if that's what you're talking about.
  2. Why on gods earth would you want to go there?? Cruzan is 10000 times better.
  3. All beaches on St. Croix are public so technically you can access any beach without paying anything. The day pass at Sandcastle (and any other place on STX that offers the same thing) is to give you access to their amenities so that you enjoy your day more. In the case of Sandcastle you are paying for access to a beautiful pool and deck, outdoor shower, beach chairs, umbrellas, towels, a lovely restaurant and bar, and a couple of included drinks. If that doesn't sound like it's worth $25 to you I welcome you to make your own choices.
  4. Cruise ships dock on the west end of the island, in the town of Frederiksted. There are 2 casinos currently operating on St. Croix. Caravelle Hotel and Casino is on the Boardwalk in Christiansted (the larger town located toward the east end of the island). Easy to get to via taxibus. Very small, slots and video poker only, no table games. Divi Carina Bay is a full resort and casino with table games, slots, etc. It recently reopened from the hurricane and is nicely updated. However it's about as far as you can get from the ship. At least an hour in a taxibus and I imagine it will be difficult to find one going that way, and it will be expensive.
  5. Leatherback is awesome!! Great beer, constant new brews and flavors, great atmosphere and service, tasty food. Go check it out!
  6. It can be done, not sure how easy. ~$25 and about half an hour. Maybe longer if you take the scenic route.
  7. No I would not say that's accurate. There are plenty of shady spots on board both vessels.
  8. I love my town and I think you would certainly enjoy it. Lots of great little shops and boutiques, restaurants, bars, and beautiful churches. You can absolutely walk around and explore.
  9. Yes, I recommend you take a taxi. Should be less than $10 for 2 people.
  10. I don't believe I've ever been on board with that many but I'm sure the boat could handle it. The half day is aboard the Adventure, it's a 42' catamaran with a wide beam, plenty of room for everyone. They take you to the beach first where everyone gets comfortable with snorkeling for a little while (some people are first timers). Then they take you around to the reef where you snorkel from the front of the boat. Both of the Big Beard catamarans were custom built for snorkeling at buck island, the stairs were well thought out.
  11. Absolutely! The ATV tour is a blast, there's no better way to see the rainforest.
  12. Yup, grab a taxi bus tour from in front of the pier.
  13. Prince does great tours (340-642-3811) Or Sweeneys.
  14. I'm sorry but I don't know anyone for that.
  15. Big Beard is the best. End of story. Not sure who the cruise ship is using these days but they won't be as good.
  16. Snorkeling is amazing at Sandcastle! Head south of the beach to see interesting stuff. Take a cab please.
  17. Honestly hard to say if he will be there or not, besides Braata and AgFair he is also opening a new restaurant on the north shore right now, I imagine that is taking a lot of his time. That being said the restaurant is still great even if he's not in it, they have a great team. As far as I know they are open for lunch on Saturday.
  18. They are still renovating but they do not do construction when there is a ship in town.
  19. Excellent info! I'm glad you enjoyed yourselves. They really are not supposed to stab umbrellas into the beach there but people certainly do.
  20. Sure, plenty of interesting coral and fish.
  21. Yeah there's a few, you'll probably want to make advanced arrangements by calling the taxi association.
  22. Yeah there's a few, you'll probably want to make advanced arrangements by calling the taxi association.
  23. Check out the fort by the pier and explore the town, frederiksted beach is right next to the fort when you are ready to enjoy the beach.
  24. Yes, my wife did this tour last year and loved it. She highly recommends it!
  25. On the west end I would suggest the public beach between the fort and rhythms. You'll have to bring provisions though as there's nothing there. Rhythms will be very loud and busy, and Sandcastle is geared toward older folks. I suppose you could go to rainbow and stay up toward the north end, then you still have access to the restaurant.
