  1. New Crystal is an exception here. Hopefully they don’t reverse course.
  2. If you are using a phone or tablet you can often request the desktop version of a website site. Just tried it on my iPhone- helped a lot with the Seabourn site. https://www.wired.com/story/how-to-switch-desktop-version-mobile-site/ https://fix-iphones.com/how-to/how-to-quickly-view-a-desktop-version-of-a-site-in-safari-on-iphone-or-ipad/ Hope this helps!
  3. These are a great deal. Will cover you in either C to A or A to C. Temdan USB to USB C Adapter 4... https://www.amazon.com/dp/B0BMVHHT47?ref=ppx_pop_mob_ap_share
  4. Good to know. When we have stayed in the Plymouth area they have given us very funny looks when we asked for one and directed us toward a store. Some traditionally consider it unhygienic to share these with other guests.
  5. @formernuke for the sake of some who have not travelled independently in the UK. Are there face flannels (AKA wash cloths) provided? DW and I have accustomed ourselves to bringing our own REI highly packable versions when traveling there.
  6. Love the beds. We use a topper at home. I’m wondering if those that like temperpedic (spelling) have issues with the Viking beds?
  7. Totality will be directly above the Temple of Luxor as well. But it’s in August! 🥵
  8. DW and I make Viking accountants weep when we sign up for SS on a transatlantic. 🤣
  9. Random thoughts; Agree that the port in Piraeus is intense - x100 if you are taking a ferry. But still navigable. That said, a few years ago our taxi driver took us on a tour of greater Piraeus- it is actually one of the most affluent and gorgeous areas around Athens. Fabulous (and expensive) water side restaurants and homes. Just not right by the port. And yes, the Sofitel at the airport is a fabulous oasis for a very comfortable rest either before or after an intense long haul flight. Very good value, too.
  10. Have you considered independent Greek Island hopping? That can be amazing. I think DW and I are unlikely to cruise often in Greece because the real experience is late afternoon/nighttime/early morning. Having visited Greece 8 times some of my favorite memories are of more obscure islands like Folegandos or Samos. But we also have fond memories of old town Mykonos in the evening when the ships leave. Next up in Greece is a visit Lemnos and Samothrace independently sometime in the next two years.
  11. We prefer ships without the planetarium as it uses precious Explorers Lounge space. But given the right timing, price and itinerary we would happily sail any of them.
  12. I have a very intense, stressful job in Silicon Valley. What I love about TA’s is the chance to unwind, simply enjoy a good book, endless glasses of wine and the incredible, ever changing view. In last year’s TA I took particular advantage of the spa which was very healing. DW and I rarely attend shows or lectures although we enjoy random music around the ship. Bottom line: we don’t need additional stimulation in our lives. Here is my review of our most recent TA.
  13. We will be on Sea Cloud Spirit in September for our 25th anniversary. Will post a write up - probably cross posting on both the small ship and luxury categories. Spirit is a bit bigger than the other two at 136 passengers - but they also have verandas which is important to DW.
  14. I was thinking the same but about the very small Sea Cloud ships.
