@JeffT237 Is the red circle where the tender dropped you off?

Can someone tell me where the Princess tender at Santa Barbara drops you off? I'm looking at Google Maps and it looks like it could be near Stearns Wharf/Pier Santa Barbara, Santa Barbara Landing, or Point Castillo......maybe none of these lol. Just trying to get an idea of what I might do for the day there and where I'll be able to walk to. TIA.

Especially when covid protocols showed the real loss of gambling income, because nonsmokers DIDN'T make up the loss as they said they would. 5 months, 5 months without smoking in the casinos and everyone who said they'd gamble didn't.
My issue with this argument is the ships were sailing at 25%-50% capacity at this time so not really a fair assessment. I agree with the others that talk about Celebrity Cruises—every Celebrity ship I’ve been on, the casino is very crowded each evening and often times I can’t find a table with an open seat.

If you are asking about the $50 credit, no.
Thank you.

Can you use excursion credit as OBC with Norwegian? Princess allows this and is a nice perk if you don’t take any excursions.

The good spirits bar has some very delicious drinks. So whenever you see the cocktail experience it just means at that time of day when you order one of the good spirits specialty drinks they play a video of that destination where the drink is supposed to remind us of. My favorite drink at that bar is the vanilla Sky. The worst part about it is it's way too easy to drink so you just kind of keep wanting more.
Thank you for the info. Guess I will need to make my way there a couple times. I may have to try the vanilla sky drink.

I’m sailing on Discovery in March and I’m looking at previous patters. What is the “Good Spirits at Sea - Cocktail Experience”? I see it listed a couple of times a day. Do they do something special? TIA

Many happy cigar smokers up on D17 in our nice open-air smoking lounge.
What/where is D17?

True, but navigating it isn’t particularly user friendly.
I agree. I just really want to get an idea of when the majority of activities are so I can make sure my dinner reservations are at a good time. I’m so excited for our March sailing.

You can see a lot of information for your cruise in the Journey View Activities Timeline in the app. It usually populates before sailing
Do you know how soon before sailing the app is populated with activities?

Lunch in Skagway was fast, and the beef was tender and flavorful. Doors for lunch opended aat noon, we were done by 12:30 - back to room to watch the safety video.
nothing on board to indicate that Mazalan to not going to be a stop.
using a wireless keyboard with my ipad and it is difficult
tv shows seem to be the same as the last 7 cruises we have been on in the past year. few new movies but not many
Roxie even if you could save the patters and then scan and post after you get home would be great. I’ve heard Wi-Fi is not great on Discovery and it may not be possible to post pics while you’re on the ship. Appreciate anything you can post for us 🙂

I would love to see these too. Hopefully someone embarking today sees this post.

Sirclean & Cruisin Deb - THANKS SO MUCH! Really appreciate you sharing your knowledge.
Anytime @Desertliving--I am like you where I am researching everything I can about the Princess Discovery (I take my first cruise on her in March 2023) and thought I would share what I've found. I'm really excited as she will be the newest (and largest) ship I've been on.
Thanks @sirclean for confirming the menus do indeed look the same as you had.
-
Also thought you might find this link https://eatsleepcruise.com/discovery-princess-restaurant-guide-with-menus/ helpful. It has all the menus in the MDR for a 7 day cruise (my understanding is the menus don't change) and all the other restaurants onboard.

@Desertliving I'm attempting to attach a pdf of the Princess Patters from the April 3rd sailing. Hopefully it works and you find it useful.

Yes the pools are heated. Nice and warm!
Thank you! I love hanging out in the pool and I was worried it would be too chilly to do so 🙂 Thanks for all the information and pictures you are posting.

Are the pools heated? I'm used to cruising in the Caribbean where it's much warmer than this cruise will be for me in March.

Smoking Areas: Deck 17 far aft, Deck 7 starboard aft, Casino port side, Churchills. The crew smoking area is located on deck 7 far aft
Does this mean there is no smoking around the main pool (Sky Pool)? Every other cruise I have been on has had smoking on one side of the main pool. I really like the idea of having the smoking at the aft of the ship.
