  1. I always considered trays to be both a trip hazard and a hygiene hazard. Pleased that they are gone.
  2. Thanks. Yes, I might possibly see a third Coronation - of course, by then I may not know exactly what I am watching !
  3. Haven't been on P&O for a while, but surely they have staff to help carry extra plates etc to your table. Princess still serve drinks at your table in the buffet.
  4. Sorry - you get your toast etc and bring it back to your table on a plate. Buffet staff pour your drinks. Why do you need a tray ?
  5. I must have missed those.
  6. Round ones on Sky last month.
  7. For those friends who have been around since the pre-covid days, I realised that I haven't given any recent updates on my Mum. Went to see her a week ago. Still hale and hearty at 96 - insisted on cooking a homemade steak pie for dinner ! Whilst we were there, she dug up all the tulip bulbs in the garden, to store over the summer, prior to re-planting in the autumn. Got to love her zest for life ! Talking to her yesterday on the phone about the coronation, she told me that in 1953 her father rented a 12" TV so that the family could watch the Coronation of Elizabeth. I watched, sitting on her knee, aged nine months ! Not something that I remember.
  8. No trays on Princess either, these days.
  9. Good point ! I have no answer, other than with the advent of the packages, bars generate less revenue than they did 5 years ago.
  10. But a lounge is a non-revenue generating area, so, unfortunately your idea, while excellent, was never going to happen.
  11. We choose the MDR nearest to Vines (Soleil on deck 5 on Sky). Less far to carry your wine.
  12. The demographics will alter depending in school holidays. I'm betting that in August the average age will be 20 years less than on your cruise.
  13. Ask your sons to use the showers in the gym, to ease the pressure on bathroom usage !
  14. I think that is one of the key issues. As you know, we were on Sky over Easter, and the ship was full, just under 4000 pax. For most of the time, the weather was kind, so there was little problem getting seats in the indoor venues during the day. However, on the last couple of days, the weather changed, and trying to get a table in somewhere like the IC was nigh on impossible. We were just pleased that we had a minisuite, and more or less stayed there for two days ! But, regardless of weather, you are right - finding seats in a bar after 21:00 can be difficult.
  15. I thought it would be, but obviously not the case. The interview was pasted in one of the many tipping threads, where the policy of autogratuitues being pooled throughout the fleet was being discussed.
  16. It's one of the ways to spot Americans in Europe - having coffee with, as opposed to after dessert, is a very American (and Canadian ?) trait
  17. All I I would say is that it is probably wrong to write off every other P&O ship just because of your experience on one of the two "mega" ships.
  18. That makes no difference whatsoever.
  19. The interview was posted on here some weeks ago, so you should be able to find it easily enough.
  20. According to Paul Ludlow, 99.9 % of passengers are getting biscuits.
  21. Interesting. I was pretty sure that examples would soon be given of security first. Seems a bit strange, in that everyone entering the terminal, even if not embarking, would have to be screened.
  22. That indeed was the policy historically, but it has now been rescinded.
