Suite lounge is only for those in Suites and Pinnacle Members
Concierge Lounge is for D+ Pinnacles and Suite guests
Ok, thanks for the explanation.

There are fewer and fewer of those concierge lounges with no windows. Soon they will all be gone, as those ships get Suite Lounges.

I’ve noticed the changes from Concierge Lounge to Suite Lounge, is this the right thread to ask what’s the difference between the two?

Unless it's been changed in the last week or so, on Anthem, the lounge for suite guests is called the Concierge Lounge.
Sorry, you are correct, there is a Diamond Lounge & a Concierge Lounge on the Anthem.

The 1/19/18 cruise he was in the Concierge lounge. The Anthem does not have a SL.
Just got off the Anthem a few weeks ago, it does have both a Diamond Lounge and a Suite Lounge.

Any updates on DL or SL concierge for Independence OTS in March? We’re sailing in two weeks and sounds like current concierges are changing at the end of February.
Thanks in advance...

My DH & I stayed at the Sheraton Old San Juan for 5 days in March last year. We enjoyed the hotel as it was central to almost everything we wanted to do in the city. If you want to limit your exploration to Old San Juan, then 1-1/2 to 2 days should be fine. We needed the extra time to visit some friends, spend a full day in El Yunque and yet another afternoon/ evening going to the Bio Bay in Vieques.
We both liked the Sheraton, it isn’t the newest or fanciest hotel in San Juan, but it was clean and is in an ideal location to walk around the city; and everyone in the hotel was friendly and helpful.

Flora's eco-friendly design will help save Galapagos and the planet. Even if you never sail on her you should be glad she is raising the bar for cruise ship planet-friendly design.
We just booked our first Celebrity Cruise, on the Flora!! Can’t wait to sail on this beautiful ship, Oct 2019.

I've not seen either Virgin or Alaska listed on any of the recent Luggage Valet scans from Port Everglades.
Thanks Bob, I was afraid of that....
Anyone have ideas of where we can store our luggage for almost 8 hours? I’m tempted to either rent a car for the day or book an inexpensive hotel, but I think 15 March is during Spring Break, not sure what the feasibility of either option is. Is there a car rental at or near the port?
Other thoughts?

Just had our flight home pushed back from noon till almost 7pm. We will be flying out of Fort Lauderdale on Virgin America (it may be merged with Alaska by March). Anyone know if we can use the RCI Luggage Valet? I don’t pack light, and really don’t want to be pulling 2 or more suitcases around with me all day. ;)
Thanks in advance.

Depends on how long the cruise was & what the cabin steward did ‘above & beyond’. BTW, I consider us to be pretty low maintenance.
One of our first cruises, 10 night cruise, I mentioned that I loved the towel animals (silly... I know) our room attendant made sure we had towel animals every night, sometime two. We also had breakfast in our cabin a few times, he made sure everything was cleaned up & not just piled up outside our cabin, within a few hours. We gave him $100. Normally I would leave $50 for a 10 to 12 night cruise.

CBS Evening News just stated that there were 12 fatalities, the bus had passengers from Serenade of the Seas & Celebrity Equinox. Names will not be released until next of kin are notified.
Prayer to the families effected by this tragedy.

Love ❤️❤️❤️ reading this thread. We will be Diamond this January on the Anthem, great to know all the benefits we will have!

Have you tried Hopper? It's a cell phone app that you can pop a flight into (NYC to SJ, in this case), and it will monitor prices. When the prices drop, it will pop up a notification along with a recommendation to wait or buy. I use it ALL the time, and usually get flights in the $200s domestically.
Agree about the Hopper app, it really is a money saver & if you 'allow' notifications it will ping you when the fares are at their lowest.

We are sailing on the Oasis in October and my husband has been thinking about buying the All Access Ship Tour, but he isn't sure if it is worth it. Has anyone done this tour on the Oasis, and, if so, did you enjoy the tour? Was it informative and worth the money? My husband just doesn't want to waste his time on a "Fluff" tour.
Thanks in advance for your input.
Like everything in life, it's a matter of opinion... my DH LOVES the All Access Tours and does them every time we are on a new ship. So for he has been on the Radiance, Rhapsody, Anthem & Adventure. We are on Anthem again in January and he plans to do it again.
I've been on one & felt that was enough for me. Definitely don't do it just for the 'gift', generally it's just a lanyard.

After you apply for your RCCL Shareholder Benefit for your upcoming cruise, how do you know if you have been approved? or do you just have to wait until you get onboard and look at your daily charges? (By then its too late.)
We have applied for the Shareholder Benefit several times. There is usually an email acknowledgement of the request send within 24 hours, then an approval/ denial email within 7 business days.
We have NEVER received the Shareholder Benefit since it cannot be added to any other incentive or discounts including: BOGO, NextCruise discounts, CAS discounts or onboard credit. We've found these others to be a greater value so I've stopped applying for the Shareholder Benefit.

Agree with the OP, we love RCI, but live in Los Angeles. Since they no longer sail out of the LA port (except for repositioning the Vision next year) we always need to look at airfare when we cruise. Limits our cruises to two a year, but doesn't stop us.
BTW - we did the ABCs this year out of San Juan in March/April. Had to fly thru PHL, we must have gotten some kind of deal because we only paid $700 each RT to fly first class.

Wow! We are on the Anthem next January & have a Star-class suite (not a Presidential, but a Grand Loft) After reading your review I can't wait!! Thanks for all the info.
BTW, was the Chefs Table included with the free specialty dining?

I have been using the Mogics power 'donut'. Comes with a 3' retractable cord, 2 USB plugs, 5 regular plugs & a travel adapter. It all packs into a tiny (maybe 4") case. It's never been questioned, and the room steward on our last RCI cruise liked it so much he was going to try and order one for himself! Available at mogics.com or on Amazon.

My wife received an email today for a 30% discount on excursions, drink packages, etc. When I log in to our cruise, it doesn't show the discount. Drink package is listed at $55 + gratuities. Has anyone booked this yet? The sale is over tonight.
I received the same email yesterday (11/01) saying "last 12 hours". We are sailing So. Caribbean in March /April for 10 days. Deluxe drink package was only $38 per person/day, much better than the $58 that was being charged on Anthem last month. Giovanni's & Chef Table prices were also discounted.
I printed a copy of the email as well as a copy of the payment page on my Cruise Planner so I would have some 'documentation' if the onboard prices were much less than the 30% discount.
