    Cool Cruiser
  1. I live across the bay in San Diego and noticed Radiance in port a day early yesterday (01 Nov). She was on a 4 night Mexican Riviera from San Diego to Cabo with a 29 Oct departure, 30 Oct day at sea, 31 Oct port call in Cabo, 01 Nov day at sea and an 02 Nov return date. She is in port again this morning - her scheduled retrun date. Anyone know what happened? Was it tropical weather down south or something else?
  2. Just curious how many of you out there will be going. I may be bumping into you on the stairs or at the pool.

  7. OK just to confirm - the formal night is the 2nd night regardless of the port schedule. For you day/night 2 was a sea day and day/night 3 was Ensenada with the normal schedule having those two days reversed. Just seems odd to have the formal night an hour or two after departing a port. Having it at the end of a sea day makes more sense to me.
  8. Going on the 5 day Mexican Riviera in Nov. Which night is the formal night?
  9. Just booked our best deal ever. 5 day Mexican Riviera on Radiance for $199 pp. Not only is it a good deal because of the price, the ship docks just across the bay from where we live - 1.5 miles as the crow flies and 7 miles by car. Can't beat that with a stick!!!
  10. My wife and I are going in Nov also. Night 2 dinner is after departing Ensenada at 4:00pm. Night 3 is a full day at sea. Is night 2 the formal night?
  11. Yep just looked again at 3:40 pm GMT. She's still there, smoke still coming from her stack and no tugs. They must have been refueling. Given the refuleing barge was there for over 3 hrs means she took on a significant amount of fuel so who knows what that means. Probably that she'll be under her own power pierside for a while longer. Great picture of SS France/Norway as it shows the stark contrast of today's cruise ships vs. the age of the trans-Atlantic liner design. Personally I am drawn to the latter but the former are very enjoyable. If you want to keep an eye on the demise of the former SS France/Norway/Blue Lady go to www.midshipcentury.com for an ongoing picture essay of her breakup.
  12. I was looking at QE2 on the Costa Classica aft webcam to see if she was still there. I refreshed the page about an hour later and saw what looked like tugs approaching her. Not sure if she is bunkering (fueling) or about to be towed to Dubai Drydocks or somewhere else (Bremerhaven?). If she is being towed its news but nothing new. If its bunkering, it means she is to remain under her own power for some time to come. Anyone have any updates?
