  1. We have had both a DV and a PV cabin. The last cruise was in a PV and the extra room and layout was delightful. Even though you do not drink I don't believe the mini bar is replenished for free in a DV. You also get earlier access to booking excursions and the specialty restaurants with a PV cabin
  2. We had our Moon cruise cancelled and we were offered 100% cash refund or 125% FCC.
  3. Perhaps a little protection is better than no protection. The remainder of the article in the New England Journal of Medicine is also very interesting in regard to mask usage..
  4. Many people are asymptomatic (you wouldn't know you are ill), so everyone wearing a mask would protect all.
  5. We were to be on back to back September 12 Barcelona to Greece and then Greece to Venice. We were offered the 125% future cruise credit or the 100% of money paid.
  6. I apologize for the misleading topic heading. Is there a way to edit it? I don't wish to alarm people.
  7. We just received word from our TA that the inaugural cruise season for the Moon has been canceled. We were to be on her in September for a back to back Mediterranean. The information was that Silversea does not know when the ship will be ready for cruising.
  8. Someone on another thread posted the complete letter which included "Our reservations team is currently in the process of issuing 125% Future Cruise Vouchers. However, if you prefer the alternative, you may choose a refund equal to the amount paid, by contacting your Travel Agent by April 6, 2020. "
  9. 8 Canadians are now sailing towards the Suez Canal. The US govt wouldn't let them land in Seattle on one of the chartered flights Viking arranged after Emirates airlines stopped their flights
  10. This is a link to the temporary cancellation policy Silversea posted today. https://www.silversea.com/temporary-amendment-to-cancellation-policy.html
  11. We got our business class air itinerary today and we depart September 9.
  12. We asked for white and asked for a Pinot Grigio. The room steward said that he couldn't guarantee getting that and we didn't get it.
  13. It was on the Viking Sky, this was our 4th ocean cruise and there was a noticeable difference.
  14. I used to feel that way about the food until our cruise a few weeks ago. We felt that much of it was mediocre and many other passengers felt the same way.
  15. We asked for the wine on the first day and the cabin steward brought it later that afternoon. He replaced it without us asking when he saw the empty bottle.
  16. We were recently on the Sky and there were several chairs in the World Cafe with major stains. There was also other chairs around the ship which needed attention.
  17. We were in cabin 4016. A very quiet room, but a longer walk to the restaurants, etc. Walking is a good thing!
  18. We were in a PV3 on Viking Sky two weeks ago - there were no drawers in the closet. Our cabin had a slider to the veranda. We had previously had a DV cabin and would have a hard time going back to a DV after the PV.
  19. He said we reduced the tips on all four cruises which was an assumption on his part. Yes, we did reduce on the last cruise although we tipped our cabin steward individually.
  20. I said we adjusted the amount - you have no way of knowing if it was up or down.
  21. If Viking is collecting the gratuity there is no way of knowing who is getting the gratuity and at what amount. Is a laundry worker getting the same tip as a waiter, or as has been suggested are they getting the gratuity at all?
  22. Gratuities could be included in the fare, but that does not address the issue of who is getting the gratuity. It shouldn't be called a gratuity if it is a service fee since a gratuity is usually given based on the quality of service.
