  1. Just received a Princess casino offer of free stateroom and $250 free play. They require a $200pp non-refundable deposit which comes back as OBC. Tempting, but we are not ready to risk the $400 on a cruise we may not feel taking before 12/15/2021.
  2. I was very surprised! I requested full refund for Thanksgiving week cruise on Liberty of the Seas sailing from Galveston. I requested the refund on October 6 - I believe that was the day Royal extended no sail order until the end of November. Much to my surprise, my money was deposited back to my bank on Thursday, October 16. 10 day turn around. I hope that was true for everyone. They have had to do so many refunds maybe they are getting really good at it. We are not ready to rebook anything at this time. Maybe 2022.
  3. Canceled a March 16th cruise on March 10th. Called April 8. Rep said refund was issued on April 5 and I should expect it to appear in my bank by Friday April 10. Nothing yet.
  4. Canceled my March 16th cruise on March 10th, just before RC shut down all cruises. I called yesterday to check status of my refund of port fees, taxes and prepaid gratuities. This cruise was comped through the casino department so that was all I had to pay. They put me on hold. Came back and said my refund was in process and should be arriving in the next few days. I am sure they are overwhelmed, but the rep was very cordial, helpful and I felt, very sincere. Just a timeline of my request and where it stands now. I will update when I receive my refund. Have an August cruise booked and h
  5. On hold with Royal right now to cancel our March 16-20 Enchantment of the Seas sailing from Galveston booked through URComped. My daughter and I had just talked this afternoon and decided we would go. She teaches and this is her spring break. We really are not too concerned about contracting the virus. But she received an email from her employer, a public school district here in TX, after she arrived home this afternoon stating that anyone traveling to China, Iran, Italy, South Korea or Japan, or other countries added to the CDC list, OR traveled via cruise line, must stay home for 14 days
  6. By the way, we now buy outside travel insurance which is primary. Skips going through Medicare and supplemental. Luckily we haven't had to use it.
  7. Yes, it does, but you must pay up front upon debarkation and submit the bills to your insurance. We had first hand experience with this a few months back. We had to file first with Medicare, then Medicare supplemental, then NCL insurance. I found the NCL insurance through AON the easiest and fasted to deal with. Medicare and the supplemental plan not so much. Took months to get their denials. Keep all receipts.
