  1. we booked sailaway no perks 1X 9 months before departure and a few weeks later logged into my ncl account and noticed a cabin number. I noticed price drop about 4 months before leaving and they offered to upgrade to oceanview/or cash refund which i took, and we kept same cabin. We then got offer to bid on upgrade at 90 days which we did and our friends got it 2 months out, but i was happy we didnt in the end -
  2. we booked 1x no perks and got cabin allocated immediately 9 months out. we were deck 4 which ended up a fantastic location on the jade as thats where you get off, and we had 9 ports. I did get offered oceanview when prices dropped but took a cash refund instead and kept room. We did bid on balcony and our friends got one 2 months out, but we didnt and i was really happy we didnt waste the $ and could use it on our account and drinks. We are not big drinkers so it worked out well.
  3. Rejected. Booked jade 1x and got allocated 1E immediately. Price drop at 90 days got a refund. Bid 530 aus$ for balcony (range was 105-645)and friends won it at 40 days to B1 aft so I upped ours to max then $190 for oceanview missed out on both -found out 8pm local Rome time -we sail tomorrow.
  4. Jade 30/6 had about 15 inside, window and balcony a month ago, 2 weeks ago it showed only inside avail gty and a week ago it is no longer showong on the website
  5. its a facinating process with so many variables , we booked 8 months prior, IX and got allocated IE almost immediately and way before final payment - there seems to be no logic in how they allocate its very interesting
  6. we booked IX at travel expo and got cabin allocated before we made final deposit. Ended up with IE which we were ok with but still got the chance to bid an upgrade when we were 80 days out. We are still waiting to hear but our friends heard over a week ago and were successful getting balcony aft.
  7. asking for a friend....... has anyone had any success in challenging an upgrade ? The friends we are travelling with on the Jade got upgraded last week from IX/IE to B1. They didnt realise there were some balcony rooms that only had a queen bed and a double sofa which now means that their 2 very tall teenage children will have to share the sofa. Out of all the balcony rooms they could have got they got B1 which is the aft and no pullman bed.
