  1. I faxed my shareholder info last Tuesday and requested an email acknowledgement. Typically I have gotten a response within 24 hours. So far, no response. Please let me know your recent timing on hearing that they got your fax. Thanks.
  2. There are a few theories on the post from yesterday:
  3. It's still there, you just have to go to "Community" since it's not a post from HAL but rather from someone that has "liked" the page. Since it's still there with their response, I suspect they are firm in their believe that they had no wrongdoing.
  4. Here's HAL response to this video on their Facebook page: Holland America Line On June 24 at 6:40 a.m., Eurodam was en route to Juneau and slowing to pick up a pilot when the bridge watch observed a pod of humpback whales bubble feeding clear of the port bow near Kingsmill Point. A nearby vessel also alerted the bridge to the pod. Following proper protocols, the captain altered course by 10 degrees to create more distance between the ship and whales, allowing them to safely pass. No announcements were made as it was early in the morning. Holland America Line ships sail while following a comprehensive Whale Strike Avoidance program developed in cooperation with the National Oceanic and Atmospheric Administration’s (NOAA) National Marine Fisheries Service and the National Parks Service. Ships have clear guidelines on how to operate if whales are sighted nearby, which include altering course and reducing speed as required.
  5. We did the tour and found it fascinating! Ours was done over 2 days and was as I recall 1 1/2 to 2 hours each section. At the end we were given goody bags including a HAL cookbook and were treated to our favorite adult beverage.

  7. I have never put sizzling skillets on them but they handle casserole dishes from the oven just fine.
  8. For the trivets I glued the tiles to a thin piece of wood cut to size.
  9. I made trivets from some of mine. Each night at dinner time we are reminded of great cruise memories!
  10. If there is a large group on board with late dining it is unlikely that many spots will open up. We had booked a cruise that had the same situation and canceled and rebooked a different date to avoid the often reported issues with large groups taking over various other locations as well. There are many posts here about people that experienced public locations on board being restricted when large groups are on board.
  11. First official notice I have seen locally: https://www.tampabay.com/business/holland-america-drops-tampa-as-cruise-ship-port-but-maybe-not-forever-20190122/
  12. Praying for all those affected! https://www.nbcnews.com/news/us-news/earthquake-hits-alaska-triggering-tsunami-warning-n942256?cid=sm_npd_nn_tw_ma
  13. Perhaps it's the Italian Feast of the Seven Fishes since it's Christmas Eve.
  14. Enjoying your reports! The globe with the eagle is the local newspaper building the Post-Intelligencer.
