Now that is too much. Why didn't you go to guest relations, did you ask your neighbor to stop? Maybe they didn't realize it was annoying.:eek:My DH would have a fit if you were practicing in the room next to ours. He would never want to cruise again. That would make me very sad. :(It happened once already with a sax playing cabin neighbor. Security would not make it stop and told him to take it up with our room steward. DH did not want to put the steward in a position to lose any tips so he just complained through it to me. That made me very sad too. :(

One of the big problems with Celebrity and RCI is they will not keep a waiting list for HA cabins so that if one becomes available the next handicapped person waiting would be called. This would prevent them being opened up at a certain time for anyone to book.As it is now the handicapped person waiting for a cabin have no way of knowing when one becomes available.I have asked for years about this but never got an answer.

Love your answer and you are so right. One time we were on our way home after as cruise and Alligator Alley was closed the entire way for a terrorist threat. They thought 2 men had a bomb in their car so all of AA was closed down. Glad we were headed home instead of leaving. You never know when a blizzard might shutdown Alligator Alley.:D:D:D Sorry, just having a little fun with you.;) -
Dream on.:rolleyes:Lucky for us, this is supposed to be a very mild winter with little (if any) real snow. No worries! -
We live on the weat coast of Florida and go to FL the night before. Better safe than sorry.

One of the best reviews I have ever read.We have grandchildren with families that seem much like yours from your description. It gives us hope and confidence for the future of our great country, thank you.

It depends on the check-in clerk, if they want to do it fine, if not it won't work. Usually they are nice and it isn't a problem. All priority set sail cards are behind those desks so they do need to go to a different area to get the others.

I believe I was on that elevator with you, the woman also told me to fold up my walker to make more room:eek:I'LL TELL YOU WHAT'S A WHOLE LOT WORSE THAN USING THE EXPRESS BUTTON: RUDE PEOPLE WHO INSIST ON CRAMMING ONTO AN ALREADY PACKED ELEVATOR.This wonderful tip is one that I ABSOLUTELY WILL USE. On our last cruise I practically begged a couple to wait for the next elevator but they had to pack ours to the max. They squeezed on, forcing those in the back to be pinned against the wall. Then guess what? The elevator wouldn't move. It stayed in position with the doors closed. When the doors finally opened, those two still refused to get off.

I totally agree, I love lobster but can't handle what they serve on ships. Then they insult you with that orange oil they call melted butter. Gross:eek:I love lobster but to be honest I struggle to choke down one of what royal calls lobster. Its probably the most disgusting excuse for seafood Ive ever stuck a fork into. -
I thought I fell asleep at the computer and woke up 4 years later.:eek:No doubt LOL! The OP has 2 posts in a total of 5 years and they are both in this thread. Amazing it took the OP almost 5 years to come back and tell of their horrible experience! LOLEnjoy your Carnival cruises OP...........lol

Thank you for this great picture. We are booked in 1402 on Sept. 11, looks great to me.

To the OP, thanks for bring this up. We just came off a 10 day on the Jewel and it was great so I started looking for another one, guess what, there are none. Not much around Florida from May to November but the Freedom and next year the Jewel will be doing the hated 4 and 5 day ones. I have no interest in the Oasis or the Allure.Give us a break RCI.

Well said. It is a drug addiction and should be treated the same way as heroin or cocaine. The only difference is H&C affect the person indulging in it but smoke affects everyone around it.I'm not willing to concede that as a fact. Smoking is definitely on the decline everywhere, though in some places not nearly as it is in the US, but eventually I think it will be a rarity and its provides absolutely no positive value outside of a perceived one from addicts. Its gone from common when I was born in the 50s to a far smaller percentage today. -
The statistics show that smoking is not a life choice but a death choice, to each his own.:eek:I'm not a smoker, but BF is. He's very polite about it and if the smoke is bothering you, and you ask him to move/stop, he will. I don't love that he smokes, but he does, and there's nothing I can do about it.My question is: how do you decide which side of the ship is smoking and which isn't? When we sail out of Miami, we like to be on the port side so we can have our own little sailaway party on our balcony. Why should we be stuck on starboard if BF wants to do something that is totally legal? What if I want an aft balcony? Yes, he can go to one of a few other places on board to smoke, but many people put a lot of time into picking their cabin placement, and I don't think it's fair to tell me or anyone else that because I'm with someone who smokes, I am restricted from half the cabins on the ship.
Life is about choices. If your priority is to not be around smoke, you have many more options than those who would like to smoke. If you prefer a certain ship, then maybe you have to put up with smoke. Figure out what's important to you and go from there. Don't try to regulate other people's life choices.

There have been several recent posts on this subject, if you do a search I believe all of your questions will be answered. Good luck with this.

I am really tired of being grouped, I am 82, white hair (since my 30's) and must use a walker. We love cruising and all of the amazing people we have met over the years.Yes their are annoying people in any group situation and some of them really tick me off but you should not tar us all with the same brush. Last week on the Radiance a toddler left his stroller and walked into our room, his Mom was horrified but I told her not to worry he knows a Grandma when he sees one. Just because we are old doesn't mean we have all lost our sense of humor or ability to have fun and laugh at ourselves. sometimes the groups of teens annoy me with their siliness but I have been there, done that thru several generations, this to shall pass.
Until you reach perfection for your age group give us a break and stop labeling all older people into a deragatory group called blu-hairs.
See you on the Voyager in Dec, the Radiance in Feb. or the Equinox in April, God willing, I will be the white haired lady in the pool since I don't dance so well anymore with this leg brace. In case you feel the urge you may buy me an extra dry martini,Bombay Sapphire, please.LOL

You are totally wrong about smoking not going to stop. Look at the gains made in the last few years in all of the US. It has not hurt revenue, the casino and bars on Celebrity are always packed and smoke free. The insurance companies have changed their policies because of the cost of caring for smokers, etc. etc.. Thank heaven for all of these changes, it is a bad way to die.smoking is never gonna stop so take a chill pills, drinking kill peop le more faster then smoking yOU need to go to A NON SMOKING SHIP RCL IS DOING A GOOD JOB WITH SMOKING -
We already have along with lots of others. The casino and bars are always full so you can't say the policy has hurt revenue. Even being only 2 points from diamond plus won't keep us on RCI. their elite perks are much better also with the free laundry, 90 minutes of internet time, per person and a great cocktail hour. Seems odd since they are the same corporation.:D:D:D:DSomething can be done, go back to Celebrity -
Celebrity is still going strong and enforces the rules.:DI guess all of us non-smokers didn't book enough on the Carnival Paradise back when it was smoke free. Even the crew was not allowed to smoke. I applaud Carnival for trying such a bold experiment, even though it failed. -

Very good post and I totally agree. We all have different tastes and priorities and it is not a one size fits all world.:cool:There really isn't one correct answer. All about personal tastes and desires. I've been in Sky Suites and enjoyed the Butler;however, having him is not an essential ingredient for me. I prefer going to Blu for breakfast when I want rather than specifying a "time between" to have my breakfast delivered. I've discovered that my room attendant will attempt to meet my breakfast needs if he/she can. I know that breakfast is important, but I'm not a big breakfast eater. Afternoon snacks are delivered in AQ as well as Suites, but I prefer to chat with my fellow Elites at the elite hour. The flavored tea in AQ is refreshing to me and the massaging shower is wonderful. Size of cabin might be a deal maker for some, but not necessarily for me. More important to me is the size of the balcony. The AQ hump cabins are my favorite. Blu is the key factor for me. We all have different palates and Blu cuisine and service rates high with me. The OP needs to recognize what is truly important to them. After 10 cruises they should have a pretty good idea. -
We would take the Sky suite in a heartbeat. Aqua class just isn't worth it. The rooms are standard size and really the other perks are minimal. We liked the MDR much better than Blu. I know we are in the minority so don't bother to flame me as it is our opinion.

Some jerk threw a cigarette on to our balcony that landed in our daughters hair.Of course they were gone from above by the time security arrived.Scary.Thanks again for another great picture. I will have a room on that side on deck 7 about half way up. I'm really excited about the open ended extension to the balcony and being that far down with a clear view down to the water. I think I'll look up sometimes, too. I wonder if anyone will drop anything good down on my balcony. :)Gina

I can only assume that amybear912 didn't mean it as a compliment since in the next sentence her husband called the lady a b****. :rolleyes:its an old term ,which I would never use, from the days when female seniors used a rinse that left a blue tint on their hair:cj
