  1. Hi! Did you stay in 12250 or 12650? I have 12250 booked and looking for more info.
  2. Yes! I burned out a fan because I didn’t know this! I know better now!
  3. Thanks for the great information! Looks like we would be right below the kids pool area… might send me looking for an ocean view room!
  4. The video I watched said it was too hot even when the sun went down. I was surprised by that, and it’s making me have second thoughts. I was hoping to hear from others who have been in CP balconies as to whether or not they had a different experience.
  5. We have 12629 booked for a July cruise on Harmony. It’s one with a double balcony and it’s next to an inside room, so it’s not next to the noisy ice room/staff room like on some floors. After watching a video of the room many times, I’m starting to worry about my choice. We’ve never stayed in a CP room. The video I saw said that the balcony was too hot to use. Considering we will be sailing in July, I’m starting to think I should switch to an ocean view balcony. Thoughts from those who have sailed in a CP balcony?
  6. Thanks! We will definitely use some vouchers there this summer.
  7. Can the vouchers be used at the Vitality Cafe?
  8. I’m hearing that Freedom is moved to April 3rd at Coco Cay and April 4th at Nassau
  9. I also saw an Oasis email saying that they would now have two days at Coco Cay to make up for missing Labadee. So none of this makes sense. Was hoping someone on the Freedom sailing had an update.
  10. That’s what I thought too. But I saw at least two emails that Symphony cruisers received saying they were going to be there on the 2nd. And the app shows all 3 at Coco Cay on the 2nd, which I know is impossible.
  11. I saw this topic in another group about a week ago, and I haven’t found an answer since. Changing itineraries due to cancellation of Labadee has 3 ships scheduled to be at Coco Cay on April 2. Oasis and Freedom were originally scheduled to be there that day. Then Symphony passengers got emails saying they were also going to be there on April 2. I kept waiting to see an update, to find out what the solution was for this mess, because I know only 2 ships can dock at Coco Cay. So far, the app has all 3 ships there on April 2. All the port schedules I can find only show Oasis and Freedom. Just wondering if anyone knows for sure which ships will be there on the 2nd?
  12. @Scottishclover I think we will take a taxi from Glasgow Central to Cambuslang then back to George Square. Do you think the taxi drivers will be interested in that trip? How much should I be prepared to pay in fare? Do they take credit card payments or should I bring cash?
  13. Thank you for the info! I’m not sure if she lived in a tenement house. She lived at 8 Bothwell St in Cambuslang, in what I think is called a terraced house? I tried to attach a pic from Google maps street level view but it didn’t seem to work.
  14. I'm pretty sure that we’ll take the shuttle bus from Greenock to Glasgow. Transfer to the hop on hop off bus. Take that tour, with a detour to Cambuslang from the People’s Palace stop. I still think the bus from that area will take us very close to where we need to go. I’m considering a taxi also. I honestly would just like to drive to the house and take a picture, then drive back to join the tour. So perhaps a taxi will be best? Are there a lot of Lyft or Uber cars available, or is a taxi a better option?
  15. Thanks! We ended up choosing a different hotel, The Resident Covent Garden location. Hoping we like the location, it seems to be great.
  16. @rhiannon84 thank you for your advice! I appreciate your help. I will look into your option as well. Glad to hear the First Bus app is clunky and it’s not just me! The website wasn’t much better.
  17. I’m not sure if this is even possible. But we will be stopping in Greenock on our cruise in June. I planned to do a tour of some kind in Glasgow, possibly even the hop on, hop off bus. I’d really love to be able to see the last place that my great-grandmother lived before she emigrated to the US in 1924. She lived in Cambuslang. I was looking at how to get there, and saw a bus (263) that I could take from Green St., near People’s Palace, to Bothwell St., just a minute’s walk to my destination. But the bus website, First Bus, is a bit confusing, and doesn’t show the stops that I saw on Google maps. Can anyone offer insight? Is this doable, or crazy to try? It just seems a shame to be so close, and not see where my family came from.
  18. I’m thinking about using Just Airport service in June. How far out do you advise booking the service? Also, is this a service that we should tip the driver? In the US we would tip our driver.
  19. Thanks!!! I am definitely getting excited for this trip, and appreciate all the help and insight you’ve both provided!
  20. Good to know! My husband and I also eat meat but do not drink alcohol. I was hoping to not stick out too much by not drinking in any pubs we stop in. Good to know it’s not just us!
  21. @Harters I will try to remember to come back with an update after we visit Oxburgh! We are planning to be there at the end of June. I also love history, and both Great Wars interest me. What a great story you have! And how amazing that you can remember and honor the memory of your great-uncle. We have traced my husband’s heritage quite far back, and his great-great-great grandfather on his paternal side to here in the states in the 1800’s. His name is on a Civil War monument. But we hit a major roadblock trying to move beyond him. It truly is a mystery, but we will keep trying to unravel the past. We’ve even done something called Y DNA looking for answers, since he traces back through all male relatives. No luck there either. Eating plans are a must in our family! Especially when I realized that our Oxburgh venture will most likely be a 12 hour day. Our college age daughter is a vegetarian, so I always have to triple check options with her in mind. I have been pleasantly surprised that England seems to very vegetarian friendly! It is very nice to chat with you! ~Chriss
