  1. Will be in CT this October via RCI and am trying to decide between two ship tours. One is via boat and stops at three villages. The other is by bus/train and stops at 2 (includes a meal as well). Any recommendations on which we should do?
  2. My husband proposed on a cruise via an excursion. It was via a helicopter that we took to a glacier (from Juneau - Herbert Glacier). It was stunning and unexpected. The pilot captured the moment and then there was champagne and the stunning flight back to port. I would highly recommend doing something like that - helicopter to tour, factor in a stop somewhere beautiful, pop the question, toast....and then return. Make sure if you do this you let the concierge know and schedule to have champagne or similar in your cabin upon your return. We did (it was Celebrity) and the captain heard about it, so the champagne was upgraded and a nice note left from the captain as well. Best day of my life until then!
  3. Love all these live posts! Our 10 day Zuiderdam Cruise will be overlapping with the beginning of your journey, but I am hopeful the internet will work well enough thatI can blog and keep up with your adventures! Looking forward to it.
  4. Loving this already! We actually booked a cruise on Sunday, sailing out of FLL this coming Sunday, ourselves. We have a travel blog and I was thinking of making this cruise my first ever daily β€˜live’ blog post series. I was trying to think about how to do it and you just made it clear! Pics on the blog, text on both. Thank you for that! I will look forward to reading about your voyage for the next couple of months as well! Bon voyage and thank you again! Michelle
  5. We did it! We booked for the 6th! πŸ™‚ Now, can you give me a little guidance on The Retreat, please? I know we need to call guest services to book, but how do I request one with an ocean view? Are they numbered or is there a map that designates which are which? Thank you so much! πŸ™‚
  6. Would those here with a great TA send me an email with details? WeAtTheSea at gmail.com TY!!!
  7. That is a good rule of thumb. I haven't sailed on HAL in so long that I have no idea what is a good price. I will get it figured out though. Thank you!
  8. I saw those (we live in San Diego too)! Unfortunately, I start a new job near the end of the month, so I can't take advantage. Thank you so much for making sure I knew about them!
  9. This entire thread has been so wonderful, we are seriously considering sailing on the January 6th voyage! Not sure I could ever do as great as you on a live thread, but if we book it after all, I might try to do so (I blog, but it isn't usually in real time...) πŸ˜‰
  10. We are considering a last minute cruise leaving on January 6th and all categories are showing availability. I am also wondering if I should book today (no extras and price hasn't moved in the last couple of weeks) or wait until Tuesday and see. Cutting it pretty close...
  11. I received the email and posted it on our blog Facebook page. I feel bad for all the parents planning to use this service and inside the 100% cancellation period; both those that did not have it available on their cruise and now that they will no longer have the option on any cruise.
