1. Hello everyone! Members may no longer make recommendations for tours they haven't taken. If someone asks for a tour recommendation in a port, you can only recommend a tour if you've actually taken the tour; not if you've researched tours and plan to take a tour or someone told you about a good tour. You have to have taken the tour in order to recommend it. If you have any questions, please don't hesitate to write to the address below. Thank you for your anticipated cooperation!
2. Please review our tour guide/business recommendation policy effective Feb 12, 2006 New Posting Guidelines for Tour Guide Recommendations Please do not start a new thread with a 'review' for a tour operator. Your "review" must be in response to someone asking for the information. Also, Cruise Critic reserves the right to remove any suspicous postings on our Ports of Call forums. Thank you for your cooperation,
3. Reviews/Recommendations of Tour Operators/Guides We welcome the legitimate review or recommendation of tour operators, guides, property & business owners in ports of call. Cruise Critic considers requests to be E-mailed for additional information as soliciting and will delete those postings by anyone trying to sell or promote themselves on Cruise Critic. Please, abide by our Community Guidelines so that legitimate recommendations by our members regarding guides and tour operators may remain on the forums! From time to time, Cruise Critic management is contacted by Tour Operators/Guides/Business who request removal of negative posts about their company. You should know that Cruise Critic will never remove negative posts from the boards at the request of any tour company, cruise line, store, shop, taxi company, driver, guide, etc. One-Post Wonders This phenomenon essentially amounts to single or multiple posts created by a brand-new member which tout tour operators/businesses in ports of call. Posts of this nature will be removed from the boards without notification to the author. Cruise Critic considers these types of postings an attempt to circumvent our rules and may result in that company's name being censored from our forums without notice. Cruise Critic reserves the right to remove any material from our message boards without notification to members, the author or the company being recommended. 13. Hi Folks: We've always been so proud of our Cruise Critic members who unselfishly pack goodies, supplies and yes...even send money...to organizations located in various ports of call around the world. We applaud your efforts and hope you continue to do so on an individual basis. However, judging by the number of e-mails I have received over the years, as well as a few heartbreaking incidents that have diminished our trust in some of these organizations, it is clear that many of you are also concerned regarding the validity of some of these projects. We are aware that many are now posting on the forums in order to obtain donations. Additionally, there is an undercurrent of competitiveness with regard to these agencies, which many of you are displeased with. Therefore, since Cruise Critic has no control over the validity of the information we do not allow organizations to "ask" our members for donations through the forums. Help them help you... include the SHIP/CABIN NUMBER you are referring to in the title of your thread: Example: Balcony Size on Grand Princess E728? Help me choose a cabin on Carnival Legend? What is the difference between A733 and A755 aft cabins on Tuna of the Seas??? Thanks,
20. Yes, this *is* another sticky post, but I wanted to make sure you all saw it! I have completed separate ROLL CALL forums for each ship in NCL's fleet. Existing ROLL CALLS with a reply in the last 30 days that has not yet sailed have been moved to their new ship-based ROLL CALL Forum. I will leave older ROLL CALLS in the original forum for a few days. To see them simply scroll down BELOW the new list of Ship-Based Roll Calls. If you want something MOVED to a new location, simply use the ALERT triangle. Decisions regarding moving posts rest with Cruise Critic. We hope this makes finding your roll call easier! Laura
21. We just completed a project to create new individual ship ROLL CALL forums for HAL. You now will see new ROLL CALL forums for each ship in HAL's fleet. I have MOVED existing ROLL CALLS into the new forums. DO NOT CREATE NEW ROLL CALLS if there already was one! Only ROLL CALLS that have been active in the past 30 days will initially be moved. The balance will be left in the HAL ROLL CALL Forum, where you may browse through them and ask that they be moved to a ship forum. Please use the "Alert" system to do this. Laura
22. Sometime today -- I will be shutting down the Princess ROLL CALL forum in anticipation of transferring existing posts to their brand new, Ship-Based ROLL CALL forum. That means you cannot reply to existing ROLL CALLS. Only ROLL CALLS that have been replied to in the past month will be transferred to its new home. I will leave the old ones up for approximately 24 hours -- if there is something that absolutely has to be kept, please use the ALERT button to let me know. I'll move it to the correct place. Laura

24. Hi Lois: I'm working on MOVING posts now.....as you can see the forums are created. I will be turning OFF the ROLL CALL forum in a few minutes. This won't take too long.... Laura
25. Beginning today, I will begin creating separate FORUMS for each of the ships in Celebrity's fleet -- which will be the new home for ROLL CALLS. The forum titles will look like this: Roll Calls - Ship Name There will be no change to how you locate the forums -- there will be a link to ROLL CALLS - Celebrity "Connections" on the main board page, just as it is now. When you open that link, you will be presented with a new set of forums, one for each ship. You *will* have to RE-bookmark or favorite place your current ROLL CALL once it is moved into its new location. Later today, I will be shutting down the old ROLL CALL forum so that I can MOVE ALL EXISTING ROLL CALLS into their new home. Please do not create a new ROLL CALL in the new forums if you KNOW there is one still waiting to be moved in the old one. Thanks, Laura
