  1. We are booked on a late Feb. 2021 Panama Canal Ft. L to San Diego. I'm cautiously optimistic about going. We've decided to only take Princess excursions, if we want to get off at ports. Even if the ship doesn't stop at any ports, since it's a USA to USA trip we know we'll get home. We really don't have any health problems and are reasonably fit. We'll wait and see how things develop. We did have pretty much the same cruise booked in reverse departing LA on Dec. 20, 2020. We cancelled that one. (I just checked, it's still available to book on Princess' site.
  2. TeaBag - re the booking - I have no idea, and in fact, it was my TA who called and booked it. Another sign that the poor CS staff is kept in the dark at Princess. I'm at a loss as to were to try and book next. Original thoughts were the Diamond in Japan, but when she got pulled out i turned to thinking about this now cancelled cruise. Cr8tiv1 - according to the bridge cam the Grand is at anchor off Puntarenas, so it's currently on the west coast already. I should have thought to check that.
  3. thanks, not enough coffee in me yet this morning!
  4. Darn and Drat! I litter just booked this trip yesterday morning. Last night I received a cancellation notice from Princess. (I still haven't received official cancellation of my November SA cruise tour, yet I know it's off.) I"m just bummed! You know how it is, I generally spend days debating with myself in the should I or shouldn't game whether or not to book a specific cruise. I finally decided to book this one and whosh! now it's off the table. I know poor me, it just another disappointment.
  5. My DH also suffers from seasickness. The "cure " for him is to wear the acupressure anti-nausea wrist bands, Sea Bands. Wonder workers! https://smile.amazon.com/Sea-Band-Wristband-Anti-Nausea-Acupressure-Sickness/dp/B001F731N0/ref=sr_1_38?dchild=1&keywords=accupressure&qid=1597174350&sr=8-38 Also, my two cents. The Pacific is my most favorite ship in the Princess fleet and Tahiti is my most favorite place on the planet. AUS/NZ is my second most favorite place so you really can't go wrong with either choice!
  6. Hi! Thanks for the delightful memories of Christmas Day! We enjoyed the holiday at sea so much that we are/were booked on a Christmas and New Years going through the Panama Canal this year. We have our doubts about it really sailing now. Truly hope all is well with you and G and your family. Anthony and I are "fine". 👌
  7. That is EXACTLY how we feel as well. Our next cruise on Princess is already booked!
  8. It is that exactly and the ratio of crew to passengers In December I was on the Ruby talking to the Future Cruise Consultant and asked about the Pacific. Her comment "you people are climbing all over each other to get on that ship". It made me laugh! When i'm planning a cruise, the first thing I do is look to see where she'll be sailing to see if I can fit that into our time frame.
  9. Count us in among the getting worried and now relieved! It was really lovely seeing you guys over Christmas! Nan and Anthony
  10. agree! and OP likely thought that they were outsmarting the cruise line by NOT purchasing the "cancel at any time" insurance. I get so tired of those types, bragging how they "saved" money by not buying insurance and then crying out to the heavens and anyone else who will listen about how the horrid, nasty, blood sucking cruise company isn't making them "whole".
  11. I find that I have been stressing over going through customs in Australia. More so than I have EVER been before in traveling to loads of countries - first second and third world countries. And of course I have better sense than to travel with guns or porn or illegal drugs. I think part of the problem is that I read so much about it on these boards and I've gotten myself wound up. I've also learned things like tea or maple syrup could be a bio-hazard. I also think, part of the "problem" is the wording on the customs entry card. I wish that they had separate q
  12. Additional information is always welcome! I am a bit surprised that the decorations come down the day after Boxing day. We're getting kicked off the ship on the 27th so it won't really matter to us. If I were on the New Year's Eve cruise, I'd be surprised by no decorations though. I know it will be crowded (the ship is sold out) and that there will be LOTS of children. We don't have any - but we really like kids of all sizes and, mercifully, they seem to like us too. Am starting to get really excited!
  13. Oh! Gingerbread Souffle! and Eggnog! YUM! I realized that of course Yellow Fish has been on Christmas cruises so I searched her blog for Christmas. Looks like there are plenty of Christmasy activities, including a Christmas movie marathon on MUTS. Obviously the celebrations varied by ship and cruise director but it does look as though there is plenty to enjoy. Here's the link https://pescadoamarillo.blogspot.com/search?q=christmas
  14. This will be our first Christmas at sea, on the Ruby. And Christmas Day is a sea day. I've also been wondering what to expect. For example, on the ships that have on demand TV channels will there be the usual Christmas movies available or should I download my must watch ones (It's a Wonderful Life, etc.) Thanks!
