  1. Thank you for your reply. My dad will be thrilled to hear this!
  2. My Dad is 96 and wants to cruise again. He was looking ata cruise on the Independence. Do they have any cabins with handicapped bathrooms? He needs bars by the toilet and preferably a walk in shower.
  3. I fully agree with most of the responses written here! I am currently engaging in Telehealth with most of my patients whenever possible. When I go out I always wear a mask, have been making gallons of hand sanitizer, and race around the grocery store when it is necessary to go, which isn’t all that often. Both Dh and I are having cruise withdrawal but I really think it is wise to wait. It could easily be until June 2021 before there is a vaccine so we may have to make alternative plans. Unfortunately, we always love visiting parts of Canada but that too is currently out.... 😞
  4. My husband and I cruise frequently. Currently we have nothing booked, but I am curious how long would you wait until you would cruise again...... maybe you can settle this for us!
  5. Very cool indeed and both he and my mom were and are completely with it!
  6. Thanks for the encouragement with past wheelchair story. Yes Dad lives alone since my mom passed away in April. He has his own apartment in an assisted living facility, where he can go to a dining room for dinner or cook at home.
  7. Thank you both for your replies. We have been debating connecting cabins but one of them would need to be accessible. I would like him to be able to go out on the balcony and to feel safe when he might be alone in his cabin. A seat in the shower would be helpful as well. I know my dad would enjoy any cruise at any time, I just want to make it as stress free (for me and my husband) as possible. 😃
  8. My family and I have been cruising HAL for 40 years. My mother passed away in April. My Dad would like to cruise again, however he uses a walker. We would also bring his wheel chair, just in case. My husband and I thought about reserving the PH (pinnacle) on one of the ships, possibly the Koningsdom, thinking that we could be near if he needed help. Any thoughts or better suggestions?
  9. Thank you all for your replies. Rafinmd, I am envious of the time you had to enjoy 80 days of cruising........someday.
  10. We are thinking of booking a trip on the Prisendam. We have sailed on most of the HAL ships but do prefer a smaller ship. My concerns are that I realize the ship is older and soon will be gone, so have things been kept up appropriately? Would love to heat from those who have sailed lately.
