The Take 5 space is the same as Club 6 on the other Royal Class ships.

IMO the space was an after thought. Oh we only have this space left on the ship lets put a lounge in there.

It is long, narrow and unappealing. I avoid it now after trying to like it many times on the Regal and Royal.

We don't care for Club 6 either, and after a couple of initial visits, we never went back.  I was hopeful that Take 5 was different/improved (like they seem to have improved Princess Live).

  2. We have never experienced on line check in before.  I have completed the on line check in, complete with photo and credit card info.  I have the app on my phone.  I have both electronic and hard copies of our boarding passes.  So my question is - what happens when we arrive at the port?  Do we still have to line up at the counters, or do we just head straight to the ship?

    Many thanks in advance 🙂

since I don't know the particulars of your situation and your 'relationship' with your TA ... i'll just post my latest experiences

prior to final payment ... switched from a no promotion , refundable deposit to a Getaway promotion, with a NON-refundable deposit with a substantial  at least for me, reduction in the fare since the 2nd passenger was 50% off

since final payment was made, we have refared twice, under the same Getaway promotion, and both times the price drop has already been returned to our form of payment

this was direct with Princess, no TA involved ...

Princess honoured the lower fare AFTER final payment was made?  That's incredible.  I always thought we could only refare up until time of final payment.  I've honestly never bothered to track the fare after that (in fear of seeing the price drop significantly and not being able to take advantage of it!!!)

  4. So glad I saw this thread, as we will be on Equinox in 2 weeks and in a Concierge cabin for the first time.

I know what is listed as "perks" on Celebrity, but have also read on here that some of these perks are actually no longer available.  So if there are any "must haves" in a Concierge cabin, please let me know.

Our boarding time on our boarding pass is 12:30 - 1.  But if I read correctly, the main dining room is open until 1 pm for lunch for Concierge.  Will we be allowed to board earlier?

Nobody has mentioned one of the most useful features and that is the perpetual access to your shipboard account and live charges. It seems like we always get inadvertently charged for something and its nice to be able to view this from your phone instead of only in the stateroom on the tv.

You're right!  That is definitely one of the best features! 🙂

  6. So far, the app is a great tool for info.  We are in the Equinox in a couple of weeks, and look forward to trying this out.  As many of you have indicated, we do NOT need to purchase an internet package in order to use the app. But when I am on a ship, I always switch my phone to "airplane mode" in order to ensure my data package is turned off. Will the app still work in this mode?

and just experience it all for ourselves when we board in December ?

thinking about doing this ... seems like it is overload at this point ... while I certainly appreciate all the info ...

If you could do this, you are MUCH stronger than me! 🙂  Simply knowing all the info is there draws me to my computer like a moth to the flame! LOL

Where did you catch the HOHO?  If you recall.  I more of a person turning the area and letting opportunity happen.  Berlin  seems like a long committed day if take a booked tour.

We took the U-Bahn from the cruise port to the main train station (Hamburg Hauptbahnhof).  The HOHO buses are lined up outside the station.  Immediately across the street from where the buses are is a pedestrian only street (Spitalerstrasse) that is very pleasant to walk along.  This street connects the area of the HBF with the Rathausmarkt (City Hall Square).  The buildings are lovely - definitely worth seeing.

We thoroughly enjoyed our day in Hamburg.  The weather was picture-perfect, which definitely contributed!

  9. On our first visit to Hamburg, we took the train into Berlin, where a guide met us at the train station and gave us a tour of as much as we could possibly see in our time frame. We then took the train back in plenty of time.  Everything worked out well.

The next time we visited, we had no specific plans. We ended up taking the metro to the main train station, where we got on a HOHO tour.  It was very good.  Hamburg is a beautiful city.  After that, we enjoyed the pedestrian area and then found a requisite German pub for lunch.  It was all very relaxed and we enjoyed ourselves immensely.

  10. Thanks Frank ❤️  That's my fear - a "wading" pool.  That translates into a pool to bring young children.  No disrespect to ANY kids, but I had hoped that the wake pool would be an adults area.  Perhaps the intent is a "sunbathing pool".  But if its very shallow, I wouldn't be surprised to see families using that area.

  11. I hope you enjoy your trip!  I am VERY anxious to know how the "new" Princess Live compares to the old Explorer's Lounge.  I'm hoping it is very similar.  Also, an artist's rendering of the wakeview pool makes it look ridiculously shallow.  If you have a chance would you please confirm the depth of the pool.

Thank you for your kind offer to provide answers to all of our burning questions.  But despite all the requests, take time to enjoy your trip! 🙂

  12. EZAir is the best!  Booked Business class one way for next August on British Airways.  We were allowed to pick our seats when I booked.  I booked the day flights became available, and since then they have gone up over $400 per person.
