  1. And even after boarding you can get a denial e-mail... my bid said pending the entire time and for the last 3+ days I could not change it. My denial e-mail came at 9:00 p.m. and we were already well on our cruise...
  2. At Bingo last week someone offered the "winner" of the bingo suite $1,000 in cash to "buy" the upgrade from them. RCI was fine with it as they said the week before someone paid $1,500 to buy the upgrade... definitely cheaper than a royal up offer, although you don't get the room until day 2 or so...
  3. I was on the Allure last week and got the blue cloth ones. So, they must have run out of the silicone ones for that cruise. It was no big deal. Just don't tighten it and you can slip it on and off as needed. My wife tightened hers before realizing you couldn't "untighten" it. She ended up just cutting it off and tying it to her lanyard about mid-way through the week.... the few times I forgot to put it on, or with it on the lanyard, no one said anything. We are both fully vaccinated. I assumed it was for proof of vaccination. The younger kids didn't have them.
  4. I thought you had to leave your card in the slot machine while playing. If you just "tap" the card and then move it to another machine, how can they tell how many times you played or how much you gambled/put at risk? Or are you saying before she "cashes out" she comes back to get her card and then reinserts it and then cashes out? If the later, that would be a neat trick...
  5. I thought I remember reading that if you had a balcony or lower, you could only bid up to a JS. But, if you had a JS (whether initially or through an accepted royal up), you could then bid on higher room categories. But, no matter how high a room you "win", your points are always based on your initial room class, before any royal up bids. As to how they determine initial minimum bids amounts and how they determine "winning" bids is a complete mystery.
  6. Waiting for them to implement the secret "diamond superior" level....
  7. In the App, for both my early October and December cruises, when you now select the "check-in" tab, it opens a new "Be Ready to Board" screen which shows vaccination, pre-arrival testing, day of testing and denial of boarding topics. The same screen pops up when you try to review your Set Sail pass. At the bottom of the Set Sail pass it states in bold "Remember to bring your health documents" and goes through the list again. None of this was not there yesterday.,, it requires you to click/acknowledge before allowing you to proceed...
  8. I was looking at a cruise compass for the Allure 9/5/21 cruise. On the first page it says "Smoking is allowed in the Casino Royale only while actively playing in a designated area..." I went and looked at an old Allure cruise compass from 2018 and it simply said "Smoking only in designated areas: Casino smoking section..." It sounds like they are no longer letting people simply loiter in the casino and smoke. Can anyone confirm this slight verbiage, but possibly significant, change?
  9. So, if I have gotten both shots, but don't think the booster is really necessary at this point, does that make me an "anti-vaccer"? (Sarcasm)
  10. Just make sure you are carrying a drink in your hands as masks are not required while actively drinking. It appears all other venues don't require masks at least per the August 2021 "venues and activities at a glance"....
  11. With this sale, some of my prices are actually higher than they were yesterday, with no sale... go figure.
  12. Which probably means its the same "35% off sale" they had a week ago.... it does get a little tiresome. Seems like the only true "sale" has been black friday which was advertised at 40% off. Of course, this doesn't take into account the across the board 10% increase this past spring...
  13. Oddly enough, chocolate covered bacon is REALLY good...
  14. Giving them the benefit of doubt, I could very easily see people who don't check their e-mail daily, or get so many "spam" and other messages that e-mails from RCI get buried and they don't check it until a couple of days before leaving. My wife, for example, checks her e-mail regularly but told me yesterday she still had over 25,000 unread e-mails. I am probably like most on this board that are OCD about planning, etc., but I understand most of the rest of the world is not like me. With that being said, although fully vaccinnated, yesterday morning I had a free PCR from a state mobile testing site and had the results in 24 hours (negative, and simply have a normal cold). With our cruise not until October 3, I may do the PCR test on Thursday, but then schedule a rapid test on Friday, just in case, as we will be traveling on Saturday... It would be nice if they moved it to 4-5 days prior. Not sure where the "magic" 3 day period came into being....
  15. I just typed the terms "excursion brochure" in the RCI search bar and the first entry was for the below link. It did list my upcoming cruise... http://www.royalcaribbean.com/beforeyouboard/shoreExcursions/downloadBrochure/
  16. So, under your scenario, everyone should be tested continually, because anyone (even if fully vaccinnated) at anytime "can be" an asymptomatic carrier... and so if we don't get continually tested, we don't care about others?
  17. It looks like no smoking in the casino (assuming they had previously allowed smoking in the casino)...
  18. My insurance requires the test be ordered by a doctor or its not covered, which means I have to pay for it unless I have met my deductible...
  19. Says "$0 Out of Pocket Expense... with insurance or federal program for uninsured" Please check your insurance policies as some only cover if the test is ordered by a physician. Walking into a CVS, without a doctor's order, may result in you having to pay, possibly several hundreds of dollars, for the test.
  20. But how do you know whether or not you have been exposed to someone who is asymptomatic. Anytime you walk out in public you are being exposed to it... whether you know it or not. Therefore, you can truthfully say you believe you have been exposed...
  21. It will sure make for an interesting next couple of weeks as more ships leave and try to come back. Hopefully by the time I leave in October some of the issues will be worked out...
  22. The Court simply deferred Florida's Motion to enforce the preliminary injunction. The Court noted "Florida's motion seems, in light of assurances offered by CDC's counsel at today's hearing, to anticipate a violation that has not occurred and that might not occur." I am not sure what "assurances" CDC's counsel offered, but the Judge was very clear that the CDC cannot "punish, harass or retaliate against a ship operator for not voluntarily complying with the conditional sailing order, Dear Colleague letter, or a later message from the CDC directed to a similar end." It would be interesting to see what "assurances" counsel for CDC gave to the Court. From the language of the order, I would think the CDC said it will not treat a cruise line that doesn't voluntarily comply any differently, but if there are issues, they will follow normal procedures. They would not single out a particular cruise just for not voluntarily agreeing to the CSO, etc... all speculation on my part as I don't know what was said to the judge. But, it is seems clear to me, the Judge is keeping the CDC on a very short leash...
  23. Don't let fear control you. It's easy and you will have a blast...
  24. Don't squeeze the Charmin.... Ancient Chinese secret...
