  1. Looking forward to your updates and hope that you have a lovely relaxing holiday. Thanks for taking us along.
  2. A view of our favourite Queen from Crosby beach sailing in to Liverpool today. We were fortunate to be able to embark her in Liverpool in 2015, celebrating her 175th Anniversary, and only hope that Liverpool cruise terminal will be able to facilitate this again at some point in the future!🤞 Welcome to all on board and hope you have an amazing time during your overnight stay in Liverpool.
  3. On embarkation day, whilst waiting to be allocated our table in PG, the couple in front were blah blahing about where they would like their table (window). Stanley advised that allocation was based on how early you had booked the cruise, finding this was the fairest, thus terminating any further discussion on his part but not their’s unfortunately. We were very happy with our table and noted the couple in question were seated furthest from a window against a wall.
  4. Not sure of the purpose of this enquiry. Are you suggesting it is Cunard’s fault? Such is life in these times post covid and you take a chance wherever you visit/socialise/holiday. As stated this is airborne and your vigilant hand washing will have hopefully protected you from a stomach bug. Are you so ill that it will stop you from travelling and socialising anywhere in the future? Hope you make a speedy recovery.
  5. Fabulous - love the QM2 aft pool - our favourite of all the Queens whatever the weather!
  6. We used this last month - much cheaper and seems to be led by demand of cruise ship passengers and drop off/pick up in central location in Inverness. Greenock to Glasgow - tour bus service at the port terminal exit £10 return compared to I think $59 Cunard Glasgow on your own!
  7. From experience I believe once you are in the terminal you will be directed to whatever relevant desk for check in and then seated. The pecking order, for want of a better phrase, kicks in once boarding starts hence QG will be first through to security followed by PG etc. As stated I have remained seated until given category has been called to board. No queue jumping.
  8. Not having travelled in Club I was unaware of the change.
  9. No - the pecking order is QG, PG, Club balcony, Diamond and then Platinum. We boarded according to our category - in May we were in Britannia and boarded as priority Platinum, in July we were in PG so second category to board.
  10. Sorry but has the policy changed since 14th July? As stated my experience in July boarding QA was as it was in May boarding QA (boarding time given as 3.30 and arrived 12.45) and December 23 boarding QM2. I was directed to bypass the very long queue to access the terminal to check in. Not queue jumping in my opinion but perk given due to loyalty tier.
  11. This is incorrect. As platinum you have priority boarding (which will be stated on your boarding pass) and you will be directed to bypass the queue outside the terminal, whatever time you choose to arrive, to check in desks and then seated. You will be able to board once QG, PG, Club balcony and diamond have been called. This has been my experience at Southampton boarding QV in May and QA in July.
  12. And given the number of passengers on board and the poor design, layout, limited seating/viewing many are unable to enjoy the Queens Room on QA unless you get ‘front row’ seats early.
  13. I think these, together with a range of other items, are daily offerings on the a la carte menu in PG.
  14. The question for me is where is the big Xmas tree going? Does not seem enough room in the Grand Lobby to me unless they clear everything else out! First world problems and all that!
  15. Best avoid Queen Anne then if you thought PG cabin on QM2 was cosy!
  16. Unlike the useless/pointless scrap of material, I can actually see a theatre full of people on this Heinz 57 painting!🤪
  17. I do not see the Bright Lights shows currently on QA (Noir and Fizz) transferring to the G32 - these are interactive, intimate shows and G32 is far too big for the like. Silent discos are thankfully limited to a couple of sessions per voyage and hopefully a fad that will die out in the next year or so!
  18. This for us was totally bizarre. A scrap piece of sequin fabric bunched in a frame! Why! On a main staircase! There were a few things we liked on QA but the negatives outweighed the positives and unless we get a great deal on a not to be missed itinerary she is not for us at the moment!
  19. I have read that it is helpful to ask for a single table for two - might not be in the most prominent position for viewing the rest of the restaurant but that is the compromise.
  20. I think you will find it is a requirement when completing personal details pre boarding that you name the insurer and emergency contact details.
  21. Don’t worry it would appear to happen to only those that want and encourage it with requests for cakes etc.
  22. Expect a card in your cabin signed by the Captain and a few senior officers and nothing else!
  23. They had a table set up outside the chart room a few days before disembarking last week selling the large bottles ($40?) with a promotional offer to buy the gift pack of the 4 small queens for $25 - likely do the same on this cruise.
  24. My thoughts exactly - also too closed in for my liking, didn’t use it once in two weeks.
