We return on June 13.  Currently in Vienna on our way to Budapest.   So far it's been fabulous.   Review coming upon completion. 

As far as I know we are still boarding in Linz.  Probably won't hear anything definitive until we are in Prague.  The tour includes 3 days in Prague so hopefully we'll see some dry weather arrive.

My wife and I leave today for our Avalon cruise from Prague to Budapest.  We will be staying in Prague for 4 nights and then go to Linz to board the Impression.  This our second river cruise and are looking forward to it.  A couple of years ago we did the AMA Rhine River cruise.  We appreciate all the information and ideas we received on the forum and will definitely write a review when we finish.  Currently watching the water levels.

We are getting ready for our AMA Rhine River Cruise in April. We will be leaving from Basel to Amsterdam. My question is do I need to get Swiss Francs or can I use Euros in Switzerland. We will be flying in to Zurich, taking the train to Basel and staying one night before we get on the boat. I know I can use the credit card for the train and hotel but was wondering about daily expenditures like taxi, dinner etc.

My wife and I are getting ready for our AMA Rhine River Cruise in April. This is our first river cruise so we are really looking forward to the experience. We will be getting on the AMA Certo in Basil on April 20 and go to Amsterdam. We disembark on April 27th. I heard that is also Kings Day in Amsterdam so it should be interesting. Fortunately, we have two nights scheduled in Amsterdam at the Hotel Estherea. We appreciate any recommendations or suggestions the forum members here may have.

Really appreciate all the information. The fare to fly directly to Basel is really expensive. The train sounds like the way to go.

We are going on a AMA cruise from Basel to Amsterdam in April 2016. I was looking for the best way to get from Zurich to Basel. Any suggestions would be appreciated.

My wife and I just signed up for the Basil to Amsterdam River Cruise with AMA. This is our first river cruise and I finally decided that we had read enough critiques and reviews. it was time to go for it. We are skipping the 3 days in Lucerne, Switzerland and getting directly on the ship in Basel. We will probable arrive a day early and look around Basel. We are staying an extra three days in Amsterdam after the cruise. There was a great critique on this forum about the AMA Certo which we are taking. It had pictures of the food and menus from each day. I lived in Bitburg, Germany for four years in the late 70s, stationed in the Air Force, and am really looking forward to going back. I really loved taking trips along the Moselle and Rhine.
