  1. Here is a teaser video of some of what I experienced on this last cruise on the Aranui 5. I'll share a bit more about this cruise this Saturday on my you tube channel. This is also a question and answer time for anything regarding French Polynesia ... bring your questions and I'll do my best to answer. https://youtu.be/xUhplAC3tfA
  2. East coast .... but I would continue all the way to the north / east to Tautira. Off the beaten trek when you get to Tahiti Iti
  3. Didn't see much of it ... I was on the Aranui 5 ... have no idea if other cruise lines are using ..
  4. Unless something has hanged since the terminal is now open I would not try and drop off untill 2:30PM Remember the crew just got dome with the prior people around 10AM. They need a few hours to themselves to run errands before starting up all over again. We should respect this 😉 There are a few luggage places around if you need to to run around PPT. There is one right across the street ... do a internet search.
  5. Wedding today ... I'll share next weekend on my live stream show on you tube. I'll share the link later next week.
  6. We returned home this afternoon ... tired
  7. I’ve done the Bora Bora 4 x 4 to her twice and it’s quite a neat excursion with lots of beautiful vistas with multihued lagoon colors the cannons it’s well worth the price. It can be a little rough going up the hills especially if it’s been raining so if you got a bad back, probably not a good idea.
  8. You cannot do Ato’s to The blue Lagoon and a half day, you need a minimum of 6 1/2 hours. My guess is the electric bikes will be available both days and if not, there are electric bike vendors there at the tender drop off
  9. I may add that vendor CERT or can be very different as far as the quality of their boats. I’ve been on boats that are nice I’ve been on boats that will beat you have to death try to get out to the ball lagoon. Sometimes you get what you pay for. I know which ones I prefer enough said have a wonderful day Hopefully you found good vendors and I’m sure you have it sounds like you’ve done your homework
  10. Every week I’m sure there’s a different situation but I would say for my own experience which is been at least a dozen times on that island about a quarter of the time if I have not booked out her year ahead of time I will not get it or from the vendor that I prefer. Show the week that you’re looking it made me much different than what I’ve experienced and that’s very typical it can change on a weekly basis so I’m happy if you’ve been able to get excursions but all I’m doing is giving a hint of advice that there are times where it is hard to get a good vendor and less if you’re booking out well ahead of time. I’m currently in French Polynesia right now. A beautiful island of Rurutu.
  11. I go all the time in October and November and had very good luck. I do try to stay away from December January and February and the first half of March. Remember everything’s a trade off the better weather or should I say less humidity less rain the prices are higher and it usually during the time kids are out of school so they’ll be more kids. If you go in December through early March, there’s more humidity and more rain but the prices are usually the Best unless it is a holiday. The shoulder seasons have always been very good to me. Good compromise on everything.
  12. I would humbly disagree. This is my 34th trip to French Polynesia and I have found that the vendors that do a good job are booked up well in advance the majority of the time. Are there some exceptions yes but the norm is the good vendors will be booked way in advance that’s why I personally book the vendors 18 to 24 months out and even then I’ve had vendors which I will not name but one of them was mentioned already they were already booked even when I’m checking sometimes 18 to 24 months out. And again there are some exceptions but it is not the norm especially for vendors that have boats that are capable of making the long run in very choppy water out to the blue lagoon. Just my two cents worth again
  13. Taxis are not cheap in French Polynesia and a main shopping area probably is not close to your rental. You might wanna look on Google Earth and see where your rental is in proximity to the main village, which is where the banking and pharmacy and grocery store is at.
  14. A few pictures as the PG left drydock. A friend sent them to me.
  15. I'll be in FP through April 18th so I won't be on the board much ... going to where the cell/wifi speed is very very slow. Trip #34 to FP 🙂
  16. No ... taxis are available whwn every flight arrives no matter which day.
  17. As mentioned on another thread ... Blue Lagoon on Rangiroa is not possible in half a day. A minimum of 7 hours is needed. Not much infrastructure on Rangiroa, only about 2000 people so finding a vendor who is not already booked for the Blue Lagoon will be tough. I always book my vendors 18 - 24 month ahead. Keep in mind if the ship says 9:00 AM they will likely take ship excursions people first. I would not plan on getting to the drop off much before 10AM
  18. Your likely OK ... I never worry about hot/humid weather until December ... I try to stay away for the months of December - Early March unless it is a great great deal which happens sometimes.
  19. I'm thankful PG changed one of their itineraries for the Tuamotus/Society islands which now allows 1 1/2 days on Fakarava and a full day on Rangiroa. The Blue lagoon is stunning on Rangiroa but as stated a long boat ride which can be rough. I'll be taking my September group out to the Blue lagoon ... you need a minimum of 7 hours. The Blue Lagoon on Rangiroa The Green Lagoon on Rangiroa
  20. Starting April 26, 2025 I'll be doing a question and answer time on my you tube channel. No presentations, pictures or video ... strictly a time for you to ask questions and for me to try and answer. With soon to be trip # 34 to French Polynesia there isn't much you could ask that I don't have an answer for. You will ask questions under the 'comment' area on the live show. Short video giving you the details
  21. Hertz is wonderful if your only hanging out around Papeete ... I use it all the time but then again I've driven around Tahiti at least 10 times ... no need to do it again.
  22. The Te Moana Tahiti Resort is the old Manava Suite Resort. much quieter than the Kon Tiki ... No beach close to the Kon tiki ... can be a bit noisy on a Friday/Saturday night.
