  1. Here is the drift snorkel ... next to a great resort 😉
  2. The 'swimming pool' is the Blue Lagoon or some refer to as the Green Lagoon but the locals call it the 'swimming pool' Pufana is incredible ... but you can't be afraid of larger fish or some current ... this is part of the north pass, just slightly inside.
  3. Video of Motu Mahaea on Tahaa .. Beach area and the tendering
  4. Keep in mind almost all the lagoon vendors on Bora bora visit the same places ... the experience my vary based on crew/boat but the snorkeling locations will all be similar. In general: Tahiti: land based excursion Moorea: land based though the twin motus are nice but the ruggedness of Morea makes this an idea island to do something land based. Bora Bora: it's all about the lagoon though a 4X4 to the top of some vantage points is nice but don't miss the lagoon. Raiatea: Do the drift snorkel Nuku Hiva: land based, grab a 4X4 excursion that goes to Hatiheu, you will enjoy the the wild side, have lunch at Chez Yvonne Rangiroa: lagoon excursion is best ... most excursions will visit the 'Aquarium', a must do Fakarava: lagoon excursion is best, many love to go to the 'Blue Lagoon', depending on the vendor some will stop at a few places for some good snorkeling and maybe a BBQ break
  5. Everyone has their own thoughts on this ... for us we don't consider going over to Moorea unless it's for a least 3 nights. For 2 nights you really only have one 'full' day to enjoy ... there are some very nice properties on Tahiti ... just my two cents worth.
  6. What's for lunch today on the Star Breeze Buffet
  7. Beach front on Moorea .... Not many choices as far as actual hotels, resorts or larger properties. The go to places are the Sofitel and The Hilton. I've stayed at both ... love them both though when there are many repairs/updates there could be a bit of noise and inconvenience. You might check out Les Tipaniers and Moorea Beach Lodge. Both are solid properties with their own charms. The Manava isn't my favorite ... water can be murky Small vendor shops at the tender locations may require cash though some will take CC. Excursion vendors if paying as you go with them will likely require cash.
  8. Personally I wouldn't chance it ... a 9AM ferry may be tough to make even though it is close to the ships. sounds like your on a larger ship so it could be a little wait before you can try and make a run for the ferry. If the ship docks at the most southern pier it is a bit of a walk (600 yards). Then you need to purchase your ferry ticket ... I wouldn't do it. Several resorts on Tahiti do offer day use ... usually $85 - $115 USD and includes a lunch
  9. How about a little ice cream after a swim ... Ice Cream
  10. Who doesn't like ice cream after a swim? Ice Cream
  11. The boutique - shopping on the Star Breeze
  12. Actually in late January to early February you can catch a sunset if you go to dinner right when they open ... but then it is portholes so it won't be much to see
  13. The main dinning room on the Star Breeze
  14. As mentioned ... both are great ships. comes down to personal preferences ...
  15. Absolutely!
  16. Short answer is yes ... But Bruni's excursion includes several snorkel stops and of course lunch.
  17. Here is my video comparison of both ships. I've been on both ... had to do a bit of editing to make it legal for CC. Comparison between the Paul Gauguin and the Star Breeze
  18. Lots of room and play toys on the Star Breeze marina. The marina on the Star Breeze
  19. The view from the front of the Star Breeze ... Taken this last June View from the front of the ship
  20. The inner lagoon at the IC Tahiti is very nice with lots of colorful fish and coral to enjoy ... The grounds are extensive ... lots of shade and loungers to kick back on 😉
  21. Swimming from the marina is fun but don't forget to enjoy some snorkeling and meet the 'locals'. Here is 'Fred' the eel ...
