  1. Sorry to resurrect a post from the long dead... Obviously if I book online I will have the opportunity to make payments going forward, but what about others? I'm looking at booking a group of 4 of us mates in, each with their own C&A numbers. Will they be able to make payments themselves through their C&A logins, or will they have to send their cash to me to make the payments? In the past I've used a travel agent, but circumstances have changed for the time being.
  2. Sydney, Australia absolutely does it for Ovation - cards always have been outside the room. When I travelled on Voyager and Explorer in 2016 and 2017 respectively, cards were issued at check-in. The bigger the ship, the more cards they have to produce on-board the ship and then transfer on-shore, set up and filter through to find yours during check-in. Much easier to distribute them to stewards to issue during turnaround.
  3. I didn't even think of using magnet hooks on the ceiling of the stateroom! Using the walls and magnets is a no brainer, but the ceiling is a real game changer.
  4. I was there earlier this year on Ovation and thought it was strange as well. If I remember correctly, Ovation is too long to fit along side the dock as it currently is. They effectively pull in as close as they can get out the way of the main part of the shipping channel and drop anchor. The tender ride is quite literally 3 or 4 minutes to the dock. Pain in the ass? Yes. Would it stop me going back to Auckland on Ovation? No.
  5. I'm pretty sure I saw that a few months ago it was changed to a Fish 'n Chip style place. I'm sure that there were photos on these boards (possibly the Australian one) just after the change was made. I can't see any reference to it on the Royal website at the moment however. I'll dig around the boards and see what I can find. Either way, I can report back in 40 days when I'm on if you like

From memory, so happy to be corrected here Beers would be around $8-$9 A spirit an mixer around $10ish Cocktails around $13-$14 All prices would be USD and subject to 18% gratuity on each purchase. I've always taken the drinks package (in Australian dollars it's about $70-$80 a day) so I don't have to worry about the exchange rates or the cost of every drink I have.
  7. Hi all, I have done a few searches but couldn't find an answer. I have just checked in for my upcoming cruise and didn't see the question about who to do the exchange rate on my expense account - my credit card provider or Royal Caribbean. As we all know, we want my credit card provider to do the exchange from USD to AUD. Is that now the default option, or did I miss where the option got moved to when they "upgraded" their websites?
