    Cool Cruiser
  1. Hi, Does anyone know if there is a sale coming up soon. Debating whether or not to book or wait a few weeks. Thanks.
  2. We are debating which cruise would be a good short 3 or 4 night cruise. We're comparing same itineraries. Has one ship been updated more recently? Is one better over the other?
  3. Hi everyone, On another website, I saw an article stating "...Something else they didn't mention is that they are going to have a big wintertime advantage over their two competitors..." What advantage is Carnival going to have in NY over NCL and RCCL? Just wondering. Thanks for the info.
  4. All the above makes the cruise a cruise, and a great one indeed. Had to vote for relaxing by the pool with the calypso band. Love listening to them play while having a drink and relaxing in the sun. Definitely enjoy the food and nightly entertainment from live bands to shows as well, but the daytime atmosphere by the pool with the sun+people+pool+live calypso band combo is a favorite.
  5. Hi, I am currently in Rome for a couple days. I have a tour planned for the Vatican and for the Colosseum (an Ancient Rome Tour), and I was wondering if anyone has some advice on other things to see and do. -I hear and have been recommended two exceptional gelato shops. One is called old bridge gelateria and the other called Giolitti. Has anyone ever heard of either of these? -Does anyone have any good restaurants to eat at both for a good and cheap or reasonably priced dinner and a quick pizza place for lunch? Someone recommended Navona Notte in Piazza Navona for lunch and then Tonys for dinner. Any information on these or other cheap/quick/good places for lunch and then fairly cheap and good places for dinner? -Any advice on what to see. Vatican, Colosseum, Spanish Steps, Parthenon... is Piazza Navona nearby and worthwhile? Anything else? Thanks so much for any information and advice. I really appreciate it.

  7. Hi Mike, What a great review! Glad you see and hear you had such a great time. Just wondering about a few things: -Did you notice any cutbacks on the cruise? We noticed a bunch that affected the cruise experience to a degree on our last Carnival Cruise. -What was your favorite show/entertainer? -How was the calypso duo (we miss the calypso bands)? -Was there a regular party band on the ship (doesn't look so from the Fun Times, which would be a first - always one full band on every ship at a minimum)?
  8. Hi, Anyone back from the Miracle today? Going to be cruising in a few weeks and have some questions.... -How was the cruise overall? -Anything must see, do, or eat on the ship? -How were the production shows and the fly on acts? -How were the live bands, and in particular, the calypso band or duo by the pool? -Any recommendations of things to do in the islands? Thanks so much. Hope you enjoyed the cruise.
  9. Thanks so much for this great review. I'm really enjoying reading it. I was looking at one of the pictures of your waiter who looked familiar. I was hoping you would say his name was Mario and you did. It must be and I'm hoping it's the same Mario we had and loved on the Dream last year. Do you know his last name, so we can request him ahead of time? Do you know if he was on the Dream last year, and when he started on the Miracle (and if he will be on in December towards the end of the Month)? Also, how was the entertainment and live bands / music... in particular, by the pool. Thanks so much. Glad you had such a great time.
  10. For those who have just returned: -How did this cruise compare to other Carnival and non-Carnival cruises? -How was the entertainment (production shows, comedy shows, and fly-on entertainers)? -How was the live bands (was there a calypso duo or band, and how were they in terms of hours played and quality)? -Any food recommendations? Anything to try or do onboard? Thanks so much. Hope everyone had a great week.
  11. Hi, Welcome back. Glad you enjoyed the trip. We will be traveling on the Miracle in a couple months and have several quick questions. -I know you said that you only caught one of the shows. Do you know if there were any fly-on entertainers? If so, did you hear if they were good? -Did you hear how the shows were from others? -How was the live music? Was there a band or duo in the atrium? How was the calypso band (hopefully) or if not duo? How were their hours and their quality? -Any food or activities you recommend? Thanks so much for the information.
  12. Hi, Is anyone back from the Miracle today? If so, how was your cruise? How did it compare to larger ships? -How were the shows (production and fly-on entertainers)? -How was the live music? Piano bar? Calypso band (hopefully) or if not, duo? -Food? -Activities? Thanks so much.
  13. Hi, Did anyone just get back from the Miracle? I'm considering booking a cruise on this ship and am looking for recent reviews/feedback/opinions. -How does this ship compare to the larger ships? -How is the food? -How's the entertainment... bands? fly-on acts? production shows? cruise staff activities? -How is the pool band or duo? -Any tips or advice on things to do? Thanks.
  14. I agree 100%. This is the one thing that Carnival needs to find a way to bring back. They can cut the chocolate buffet, one or two of the solo acts, etc. The calypso bands are something that keeps us leaning towards the other lines. If other lines have it and we all love it and miss it, there's no reason Carnival can't bring them back. It's the one common complaint I heard on my last Carnival cruises (from new and old Carnival and non-Carnival cruisers and first timers) and it's pretty common to read about the disappointment of the duo's over the bands as well.
