  1. Considering the Caribbean instead of the Enchanted is not the best idea. You'll find the Emerald is just acceptable compared to the newer Enchanted (Royal class) ship. As the years progressed there have been many changes that most people have come to enjoy although there are a few that should have been included as well. I guess you can't have it all.
  2. What you describes happened a long time ago from what I've seen in the last 2 years. Things have changed in many way since then. Still it's a shame that you'll be depriving yourself of a decent meal substituting a hamburger & fries in it's place for the lack of wearing a pair of slacks & polo shirt.
  3. Right now it is, but not if they decide include priority tendering into their Plus or Premier package. At that point it's true value will decline somewhat as 70 % of the ship seems to be buying into one of them.
  4. I was a little set back when I noticed how many blue bags I've seen in the stewards trash a few days after they were handed out. Some people just didn't want them as a gift for the length of the trip.
  5. Choosing a dining time has more to do with what activities you want to do that particular night rather than what you do at home. It's impossible to schedule the main show plus a trivia game and them listen to some music in one of the lounges if you begin the night with dinner at 7 PM.
  6. I can't say I've seen any person turned away for any dress offence by as you mentioned, it's hard to believe anyone would leave on a vacation without at least 1 pair of pants in their suitcase. 😆
  7. Breakfast is between 4 and 5 AM after my walk.
  8. It's whatever you want it to be. A Tux, jacket & tie, short sleeve shirt & Dockers or jeans and some even intrepid it a shorts. Princess has given up any enforcement of a dress code & leaves it up to the individual's discretion. The important thing is not to be upset if someone doesn't follow what you perceive as proper and just enjoy yourself.
  9. That's a little late for us, but we make do. You would be surprised how many people are in line at that time.
  10. Now that wouldn't surprise me at all. 😉
  11. Of course, it could be slow on any ship where the crew/cook staff is inexperienced. On the Enchanted we arrived at 5 PM and were always finished by 6:30 PM. We each order 2 appetizers every night, soup, salad, 1 main course & dessert with coffee- table for 2. My husband was usually one of the first to arrive in the show lounge to save our favorite seats.
  12. At what price? I'm sure it won't be free. 😉
  13. The only place that utilizes facial recognition onboard the ship is in the photo dept., and sometimes that isn't 100% reliable.
  14. You obviously chose a later dining time which is always much slower, that is unless you arrive just before closing time at 9 PM. Next time try to arrive a little earlier and you'll notice a big difference.
  15. One time in Ft Lauderdale I had numerous cans of soda scattered throughout my luggage (full size) and they questioned me if it was beer. I told them to go right ahead & check it....they told me to proceed. 😄 I suppose I sounded convincing enough.
  16. I anticipate that they'll continue to dream up even more charges in the future to include in one of their packages.
  17. So do we but lately it not a Princess bag. 😄
  18. If anyone would take me on a cruise I would never say a word either. But, when I'm paying for the trip I expect a little more that the junk they try to pass off as being butter.
  19. You've got that right. We scrimped and saved enough our working years to know the difference.
  20. I for one applaud the new "do as you like dress code" and don't care what others choose to wear. As long as they don't return to the style that was forced upon their passengers a few years ago, I can now enjoy to relax at dinner dressed the way I think is appropriate. From what I'm reading, the new Star Princess is going to offer different levels of attire in 3 different DR's. It should prove interesting to see if the food offered is the same and just how many people will choose each level.
  21. It's the same way thought-out the fleet. Casual on every night no matter where you dine.
