Yes, that’s what we expect, getting the 10 days tour, however, I would also have expected Celebrity that they would tell us exactly this and not just „we cancel the post cruise tour“. I think you agree, that this is not the cheapest cruise Celebrity offers, I believe it’s not over the edge to expect kind of good service 😉 well, we hope to get more info by tomorrow

We planned a Galapagos cruise post tour to Lima and Machu Picchu area (post cruise part would have started Feb. 25), all booked through Celebrity. they cancelled the post cruise part today, telling our travel agent they would reimburse us for this part plus an addition payment up to 500 USD for any additional expenses due to rebooking flights. well, not unexpected. however, so far Celebrity didn’t tell us how much they are going to reimburse, they even didn’t tell us, where and when exactly the booked tour now ends. I hope they provide flights from Baltra to Quito and a night in Quito, depending on at which time we will arrive and at which time flights into US are available. Actually I would have expected that they do offer a little bit of assistance in rebooking. It’s also not really nice to get this information on a Friday without chances to get any additional information before next Monday. hey, maybe I expect to much for such a ‘cheap’ tour, it was just a bit more than 10.000 USD each 😂😂😂, not the amount they would offer some really good service maybe. well, we are still looking forward to the Galapagos cruise itself and maybe we can arrange a short round tour in Ecuador instead of Machu Picchu.

Trk_koa: glad (and jealous 😉 ) you made it to Machu Picchu, even more glad that you made back in time before railroads are closed again. hope you’ll be able to enjoy the remainder of your trip as well. We others can just sit and wait how things develop over the next weeks. with the increasing numbers of the new Covid Variety XBB.1.5 in the US there are more clouds coming up. Let’s hope this will not bring up new travel restrictions for travels from the U.S. to Peru or (for us) to Ecuador/ Galapagos.

Cross fingers everything is going to be fine and you will be able to enjoy Machu Picchu. please keep us updated and give us your impressions from the tour.

Really good, that our tour is schedule for end of February only. Hopefully by then we will have more certainty this way or that way

I am glad our cruise to Galapagos only start mid February and the post cruise tour to Lima and Machu Picchu only after that. So there is some time to find out how it will develop. However, I doubt we can make the Peru part. Will see what Celebrity says mid January

We booked a Galapagos cruise with Celebrity xpedition including a post cruise package to Machu Picchu. Cruise will start mid February Machu Picchu then End of February. we are following closely the situation and look forward to hear something from Celebrity, so far nothing. appreciate any information others get from their cruise lines / tour operators
