I've seen a few sources say there's a gala night on 7+ night cruises, and not on 3 or 4 night cruises, but I can't find anything on 5 nights. The What to Wear info I'm seeing in the app is just the generic website text that applies to all cruises. Does anyone know for sure about gala nights on 5 night sailings?

Hi, I'm sailing on the Divina next month in the Yacht Club. On Celebrity, Retreat guests have the option to dine in the MDR if they want, as well as the exclusive restaurant. Does anyone know if MSC has a similar rule, or are we limited to Le Muse? One of my friends likes variety in her dining experience, so I wanted to check.

If your Samsung has wifi calling enabled, you should be able to text the same as iPhone users, assuming the other poster is correct that that works over the ship's free wifi.

No, @loveapug, we ended up just doing the round trip taxi, but I now wish we'd taken the bus or even the train. First I tried hiring a taxi through FreeNow, and got a phone call from a driver who only spoke Italian, so we couldn't arrange a meet up. I had to cancel the ride and pay a 5 Euro fee. I was able to hire one of the drivers who hang around outside the port, but only after a long ordeal of haggling with several people who tried to grossly overcharge us. It took so long we were almost late for our tour. Then he did follow through on taking us back to Naples, but there was a long wait for him to pick us up. It was kind of stressful and I wonder if the bus wouldn't have been easier. And thanks again to @euro cruiser for the advice, it did give me peace of mind to have a backup plan.

Do you know, can it be a regular single-use bottle of water, or does it have to be a reusable one? Another site I recently visited had a rule against bringing disposable water bottles inside, which is why I ask. Thanks.

We've decided to take a taxi from Naples to Pompeii, because the train sounds unpleasant and the bus doesn't leave at a convenient time for the tour we scheduled, but we'd need more like 3 hours at the site instead of 2. I know we can negotiate for more time, but I want to be prepared to just take the bus back if we don't like the taxi driver's terms, or if god forbid they stiff us and don't come back. My parents had that experience once. I've looked up where the bus stop near Pompeii is located, but it sounds like you can't buy tickets there. You would have had to buy a round trip ticket at the station near the port? Can anyone advise on how to take the bus one way from Pompeii to Naples, or suggest a better plan here? Thank you.

I was able to get back into the website by changing my password, but the app gives an error "Sorry, we hit a snag" and says to try again later. I've tried deleting and reinstalling, clearing cache, clearing storage, etc. I'll of course wait a while and try it again, but I'm interesting in hearing anyone else's experience.

Piggybacking on this, does anyone have thoughts on taking a taxi vs taking the bus, assuming the cost isn't an issue? Is it hard to get a taxi to agree to give you more than 2 hours at the site?

Ok, now I'm feeling a little paranoid, because I booked flights online with FBC back in June, then cancelled them the next day to book direct with the carrier. My final payment isn't due until February. If my amount due, excursions, and OBC are all shown correctly in my account, does that mean my cruise reservation is fine, or should I be worried about a surprise when I go to make final payment?

When you deleted the app, did you use the touch and hold method, or Settings - General - iPhone Storage? I think the issue might be with your app data, and deleting it from Settings then reinstalling might do a better job of clearing that. Sorry in advance if that's a waste of your time.

The Thermal Suite is in the spa and is a totally different thing from the Retreat. If you buy a Thermal Suite pass, it asks you to pick a 15 minute time slot but that's just a quirk of the booking engine. You get access any time all cruise.

When your phone is in airplane mode, it can't ping a cell tower to determine a location, so it uses the location from the settings on the wifi router, which must have been configured while the ship was in France. The AirTag takes its location from the nearest iPhone, so if your phone thinks it's in France, the AirTag will also think it's in France.
