  1. Sorry for the delayed response.Correct, we did not order any food.
  2. Boarded the Oasis yesterday. We had no problem getting a milkshake to go with a refreshment package. We are staying in a Central Park balcony.
  3. Loving the thread! No need to be apologetic. You are doing a great job! Can’t wait to see what you do next.
  4. I am contemplating upgrading the easy package as well. What was the price upgrade?
  5. I would choose Carnival Horizon with your kids. The ship will have a more upbeat vibe. The ship is also newer with more bells and whistles. I have not been on Horizon myself but was on Vista and the ships are very similar. I also just had my last cruise on Adventure. I found myself in my room rather early many nights because we could not find something entertaining to do as a family. I was with my two sons 15 and 25. We love watching movies under the stars and if I remember right, we were able to do this, but only once until it started to rain. There was no warm blanket or popcorn. Also Aruba and Curacao are fantastic islands to visit. We did love Bermuda as well. The water was just chilly still when we went in May. I am not sure when you are cruising. Either way we love cruising and your vacation will be as fun as you allow it to be. Happy cruising!
  6. Thank you, we might just take your advice. It’s so strange that there is so little feedback on this excursion. You tried a few years ago and you did not get a response either. The Appleton Estate really would be a fantastic tour. Too bad it is such a long drive. It would really cut it close to all aboard time.
  7. Cruise is on Oasis On December 15. We might end up doing a beach break also. Was hoping to do something different for our second trip to Jamaica. We did Dunn’s River Falls and beach dat last time we were there. We aren’t going with the kiddo this time, so was hoping for something that we would be able to take advantage of. Thanks for the bump. Enjoy your upcoming cruise!
  8. I tried to post this question under the Jamaica board but have not received any feedback. I was hoping I might have better luck here. I have signed up for the “1749 Appleton Estate Rum Experience and Beach Break from Falmouth” excursion from Royal Caribbean. I was curious if anyone has done this excursion and could provide some clarity if the excursion is worth it. In reading the description it states that it is a Satellite facility and not the actual distillery. It also states that a lunch is offered at Blue Waters beach club afterwards. Was curious if we are allowed actual time on the beach to enjoy or if it was just a lunch and they bring us back to the ship.

  10. I try to book my cruise when Royal is offering OBC. Then I end up with OBC from Royal and my TA usually matches or gives more. This time my TA matched what Royal was offering and provided specialty dinner 1 night.
  11. I am staying in a Central Park balcony room 11255. Am I correct that the bed will be closer to the closet and restroom and the sofa will be closer to the balcony.
  12. I have gone on both and like both equally. To me it depends on what you are looking for. I think the cruise directors and entertainment staff are much more upbeat and engaging on Carnival. For fun and more activities or events Carnival it is. If you are looking for a more laid back and relaxing cruise, Royal is the way to go. Food depends on each person and what they like. I think every ship cooks differently. You will have a great time if you choose Royal. It never hurts to give something different a try to see if that brand is a match for you and your vacation needs. I know others are talking about perks. However since this would be your first, this would not matter. Overall both brands are fantastic and provide my family with a great vacation. Royal won this upcoming cruise. We will be sailing on Adventure out of NY this May. Last 2 cruises were on Carnival.
