  1. We're going on an East Coast cruise stopping in Norfolk for about 12 hours on a weekday in late June. Thinking about going to Virginia Beach, but: 1. Is there easy Uber availability to Virginia Beach from the cruise port and vice versa? 2. Google Maps says Virginia Beach is only 20 minutes away from the port, but I searched here and someone said it would take at least 40 minutes? 3. Would you expect it to be extremely busy? Hard to get chair/umbrella rentals? Thanks
  2. Emerald does have The Sanctuary, and last year it was $20 per person per half day.
  3. We're tendering at Lahaina. Is there some part of Kaanapali Beach you recommend? We were thinking near Whaler's Village, but really, the most critical part is getting an umbrella and chairs, preferably reserved online ahead of time. I saw Snorkel Bobs, but they don't have umbrellas. Or is there so much avaiable that this really does't have to be reserved ahead of time? We'll be there in a couple weeks on a Monday.
  4. Is there anywhere in Kaanapali Beach, on the beach itself or short walking distance, where you can reserve chairs and an umbrella online ahead of time? Our plan for the day we'll be in Maui is to Uber to Kaanapali Beach from the port, but I'd imagine plenty of other cruisers are thinking the same thing, and we don't want everything to be sold out. Is that a realistic risk? I can't seem to find any options, and an old recommendation on here for the Kaanapali Beach Hotel doesn't appear to work anymore. Local vendors like The Snorkel Store and Boss Frog's don't look like they're on the actual beach, either?

    Harbour Nights

I don't recommend Harbour Nights. We went last year, and the vendors were mostly selling junk. It was also absolutely packed. The Gombey dancers, if you could get close enough through the crowd to see them, were interesting, but that's really it. Not worth going just for that.
  6. Is the USS Arizona Memorial busy the entire day, no matter what time of day we go? If not, what's the best time to go? We'll be there on a Saturday in August.
  7. Our ship (Emerald Princess) arrives at 6:15 am in Los Angeles on a Monday for disembarkation. Our flight options out of LAX are 1:25pm, 4:30pm, and 9:30pm. Is 1:25pm too early? I know Los Angeles traffic is worse on weekdays. We have TSA Precheck and the 1:25pm flight is out of Terminal 5 (JetBlue). The 4:30pm flight is Terminal 7 (United) and a bit more expensive. Also, should we take Uber or use the shuttle Princess provides?
