Thank you for this great review of NYC! I love NYC as much as I love cruising but I haven't been there since 2013. I did get to see it from a distance last week going to and from Maine. I hope you have a fantastic cruise 🙂

I need you to cruise again soon, @mitsugirly!

@Slainte57you're in my neck of the woods! We were just there white water rafting on Sunday. Sorry the weather hasn't been favorable, but I hope our state is treating you well otherwise!

Once again you knocked it out of the park with this review! I love your writing! You make me miss the Mardi Gras, the salad bar at Serenity was a hidden gem I didn't find until the last day so now I'm thinking I need to book another trip on her to enjoy it again.

You were just there last week and nothing is going on? At all? I follow LFK and also friends with the owner and he is still posting, as of today, that it is under seize. There are now pictures of the place on fire and being burned down. The pictures look horrible. Are you saying this is all fake and it's business as usual? If so, someone must have control of both fb accounts and doing a lot of photoshop. It's really sad if this is what's going on.
I’m with you. This is all so confusing. I saw the pics of the fire yesterday and was so sad. I was just there in January and had a great time. So hard to know what to believe 😕 -
If you drink alcohol, the Fortune Teller bar has wonderful drinks. We liked getting our morning latte's from Bar Della Rosa instead of JavaBlue Cafe. We had two really good meals in Cucina del Capitano but were let down by the dining room menus. The salad bar on Serenity deck was really nice with plenty of options. There is also a covered sitting area in the aft on deck 17 that was nice and quiet.

I love your review! I feel like I'm reading something I wrote as I too am a married, pushing 40, childless, type A (but not a Karen) cruise lover lol. We sailed one time during spring break and vowed "never again". We were on the Mardi Gras in January and had an amazing time, but there were only about 3800 passengers and I have a feeling we would not have enjoyed it nearly as much if it were full 😞

A friend of mine cruised two weeks ago. Her results were handwritten and were not accepted. She was taken upstairs and had to contact the facility where the test was taken to be verified. She is lucky they were able to get ahold of someone.

Thank you! We made the mistake of sailing on the Sunshine over spring break in 2016 and I can confirm we never want to step foot on that ship again. It was a crowded nightmare.
-
I have a friend on board the Sunrise currently and she was wondering how many people were on board. Have you heard a total number of passengers or at what percentage full the ship is?

@mopedmom1 I so understand...I'm very conflicted about my upcoming cruise...still not sure if it's the right thing for me to do...but as one friend said....go...try to enjoy and you'll know for sure if you want to cruise without Frank..and son and dil will be with me...and a friend...so I'm trying to be positive about the whole thing...but then I'm having nightmares about positive covid tests...and not being able to get on the ship....etc etc etc....I really am not worried about getting it as I've already had it twice..and that's with me being vaccinated...infused...and boosted...I have no faith in much of anything anymore!!!!
I had those same "what if" fears regarding my cruise last month, but we decided to throw caution to the wind and sail and we loved every second of it. Once we got over the testing two days prior hoops everything flowed as usual. We didn't miss any ports, never had to test or quarantine on the ship and things ran as smoothly onboard as they did pre covid. I wasn't really even looking forward to cruising because I thought I had lost my passion for it but as soon as we got settled onboard I remembered why I loved it and was already thinking about where we would sail to next.

We're on this cruise also, and just last night decided to throw caution to the wind and sail (pending negative covid tests next Thursday).

I got: The information you submitted indicates that your cruise is scheduled to operate and is not eligible for a full refund. Normal cancellation fees will apply.
I get this same message when I check it from my phone, but I get the option to cancel my 1/22 cruise when I check on a computer. I still don't know what to do, my brain says cancel but my heart says go 😞

Boarding the Navigator OTS on Friday. 🎉
I'm all over the place, I have no idea what to do. I cancelled my pre cruise hotel stay this morning then I ordered the home rapid test. I guess I'm just afraid of missing out on the ports, I'm one of the rare people who actually cruise for them and not the ship. The other issue is that my husband is a hospital employee and he has never had an issue getting time off until now. He won't even know if its approved until 1/15 and we are leaving 1/22. So aggravating. I think I know I need to cancel, but just can't let myself do it yet.

Given all the uncertainty with restrictions and possible missing ports, would you all cruise now or opt to cancel? If given the option for a full refund or FCC, would that change your mind?
-
I’m scheduled to sail on the Mardi Gras on 1/22 and just waiting for them to extend the full refund to that sailing before we cancel. Like others said, just too much uncertainty right now. We can’t even get a rapid test within 100 miles of where we live.

As a government employee, I can say moving to the public sector was the best decision job wise I've ever made. I have transferred agencies since starting with the government in 2010, but once you get your foot in the door it is relatively easy to transfer. Only you can decide what's best, but you seem to have many complaints about your current job even though the perks seem incredible to me. Good luck with whatever you decide!

Has anyone ever had trouble getting a refund from LFK? I booked for two travel companions who then decided to cancel their cruise. I requested a refund in time to receive a full refund from them according to their website rules. I received an email stating I would be issued one within 15 business days but that has now been a month ago. I have requested an update and was assured again that I would get my money back, but I’m still waiting. Wondering if I need to take other actions or if they are trustworthy.

Greg, what's your opinion of Spirit? They just began flights from what I would call my almost backyard airport, and the flights to Florida, which would be convenient for cruises, are really cheap. But to get to a page with a final, all-in price, I would have had to give them more info than I wanted to. Plus they don't have multiple flights to the same city in the same day, so if one is cancelled, then what?
I regularly fly Spirit out of Charleston, WV to South Carolina and Florida. Actually just took a $22 flight to Orlando last week. They aren't bad, but like Greg said, pay the upgrade for the bigger seats. I'm not a large person but I definitely was squished in the regular seats this past time. Also, you do take a risk of not getting another flight if yours is cancelled, that happened to me a couple years ago. But, I still use them every chance I get just to save money.

Thanks for your review, Greg! This will hold me over until I get to board her in January. Any idea how long "inaugural season" lasts? Is it just the first few cruises, first few months or the first year?

2X points on Carnival Mastercard not showing up
in Carnival Cruise Lines
Posted
I had an offer last month to receive 10,000 points for booking a cruise on Carnival's website. I did but never received the points. I need to call them but have just been putting it off.
