Hello KY! We will be traveling in June. We were originally booked at Embassy Suites but decided to look at something on the beach. Considered AC Marriott and Condado Vanderbilt. Ultimately chose the Vanderbilt but the AC Marriott had the best rates, just not on the beach.
-
The AC Marriott charges a resort fee, but it’s not (in my opinion) a resort.

Thank you, I think we are going with The Vanderbilt.
-
The Vanderbilt? AC Marriott?
-
Condado Vanderbilt is amazing. We got a free oceanfront suite upgrade for my birthday.

What had you originally booked?
-
Is this the area?
-
No the JS's aren't "sweet" enough just GS's and above...But even when we have access to this so called vip pool area we don't care for it at all...would rather be down on the pool level.
Is the pool not accessible from the VIP section?
-
Same area as Liberty!
Which is where?
-
Where is the VIP pool area on Freedom. Plenty of seating?
-
On the aft of a Voyager or Freedom class ship, the higher the deck, the better the view.
Thank you!

Thanks for all of the responses. Wondering if the view from the balcony would be the same. We are at the full rear of the boat.

We are booked for this summer on FOS. We have a choice for deck 8 or 9. What is your favorite deck and why?

What exactly is the point of the connecting cabin to the Haven room if the two rooms can't be together. Why in the description does it say "bring everyone along"?
-
I've stayed in the Royal Family, now 2 bedroom suite. One of the bedrooms (Master) has a balcony but the other bedroom which sleeps 4 is on the inside and doesn't have a balcony but the living room area has a balcony. 2 bathrooms, one with a tub.

Do most people book and then transfer to a travel agent or book through the agent? How late can you actually transfer your booking?
-
Now THAT is funny! For those of us in California, it may well be the opposite - we'll be paying more. What else is new?!
Yes, and anything one MIGHT receive is disguise of a tax decrease will be soaked up elsewhere to pay for the so called "MAGA" campaign.

We have been on the RC Allure and Freedom and most recently NW Escape. Both ships were great. Allure, we stayed in a Royal Family Suite so we had the suite perks. On the Escape we stayed in a 2 bedroom in the Haven Area. There are things we loved about both but for the most part we are loyal to Royal. We only ended up on NCL after our Adventure cruise on Royal out of San Juan was cancelled due to the hurricane. If you do decide on NCL, I highly recommend the Haven area.....butler, private pool area, private restaurant, keycard only access to the area.....and much more. We are planning another cruise with them summer 2019 on the Bliss to Alaska.

I checked on a re-price for the Black Friday Sale(?), my cruise was actually 2000+ more expensive. No sale there.

They are still in the age groups that enjoy the kid's clubs...so take them the 1st evening...that's when they will meet other kids their ages... And yes...certainly let them be part of the "planning"....pick up a guidebook on the ports you'll visit, and let them read about those places! The more you know about the ports, the better time you have ashore!
The kids club is a great place for them to meet folks their age. When we sailed they actually had a "prom night" where the kids got to dress up and attend a dance. Not sure if they still do this but they did a year ago.

I wish you could book for more than 4 people in a room.
-
How about selling the room type--Balcony w/Vibe, Mini-Suite w/Vibe etc......First booked, First Served. Seems better than a running race on to the ship.

Since my first cruise last July, I find myself on the board or cruise site all the time looking for something. Between my work and my children's schedules (school, sports, etc.) I have been limited. I scheduled one last year on my way home from the first while in the airport. Then booked another while on the ship. For our first trip we had 2 balconies, the second i booked a JS but got a call from the upgrade fairy and moved into a Royal Family Suite about 2 weeks prior to sailing. So now I am looking at suites which put an "ouch" on my budget. We are scheduled for next summer and was looking at something for Christmas 2018 but wow.....what a price jump. Planning Alaska for summer 2019.

Finding myself constantly looking at the NEXT cruise and dates are starting to get closer between sailings. How many times do you sail per year? Is there a particular cabin/perks you insist on or just catch the best bargain?
-
Do the holiday cruises have something extra? Why are they so much more expensive?
-
Hi -
We have 3 separate reservations (as required by NCL). We have 2 connecting mini suites and for my family (husband + 3 kids) and another mini suite for my parents. We received the upgrade advantage email to bid on haven rooms. It would be great to do the 2 bedroom family villa but how does that work? We would only need one room then but technically you are only upgrading one reservation. What happens to the other room?
Thanks!
Having stayed in the 2 bedroom villa let me warn you....it isn't REALLY 2 bedroom (at least not equal). One bedroom is very nice (king size bed) the other is basically bunk beds and one person can sleep on the couch in the living area.
