  1. I'm pretty sure that no one addressed your question about shots being included. Yes, you can order shots of anything. Just know that the PBP has a limit of 15 alcoholic drink limit per day. I won't comment on the other questions since I am not sure about the answers and I think others are on it. I typically book during a promo that offers the PBP and other perks, which is now Princess Plus. What is nice is that the PBP includes all your non-alcoholic drinks like specialty coffees and bottled waters too. Love that!
  2. The hubs and I really enjoy eating breakfast in the dining room whenever we cruise. It is much more relaxing than the business of the buffet area. Plus, the food is freshly prepared for you. Princess has a pretty good breakfast menu IMO too. If you are in a hurry to get off the ship, you definitely will need to schedule a room service quick breakfast or grab something from the buffet though. If you are ever in a suite on Princess, you will get spoiled with their special suite breakfast. It's so hard going back to a non-suite after that!
  3. In addition to the expanded room service menu and being able to have the MDR menu via room service, you can have afternoon tea delivered to your suite as well. At least that was the case the last time I was in a suite.
  4. Personally, I never asked for anything "special" but I do remember (I feel the memory is fading as it feels so so long ago now...sigh) that they had poached eggs and roasted potatoes served in this pretty little globe glass. It was both pretty and delicious!
  5. Just having experienced my first HAL cruise recently, I think you will find Princess to be a tad livelier than HAL. I found HAL to be rather sedate. We prefer the food on Princess as well. We have not been on the Majestic, but experienced Bistro Sur La Mer on the Sky and it was fantastic! Chef Emmanuel Renaut was also onboard so it made it all the more special! The Crown Grill is great too, but I think it is on more ships than Bistro Sur La Mer so you have more chances to eat there again. That's my take on it anyway.
  6. Not sure how it would include texting and calls unless it is wifi calling and imessaging. MedallionNet is not cellular service. So anything you can do over the internet, you could do over MedallionNet...theoretically. I'm sure Princess could block certain high bandwidth sites. I was able to stream video, make FaceTime calls, wifi calls (check with your provider to make sure they allow it and your device is capable) through MedallionNet when I as on a Princess cruise last. You will have your cellular turned off by putting your device in airplane mode and turning wifi on so no cellular services will come through. You probably won't want it to since it is cost prohibitive. I hope that helps!

  11. Being a new HAL cruiser, it seems that there have been a lot of inconsistent things since the startup. I imagine that is true for all of the cruise lines. I do hope that things start to improve. I have been looking at the Dining Room menu each day on the navigator app to get a feel for what we can expect and it seems to change each day for dinner, but not for breakfast and lunch. Is that normal for lunch to be the same menu every day? Breakfast I get. It's kind of hard to change that up much. Just wondering. Also, does anyone know what the difference is between a large ocean view room and a non large or standard ocean view room is? Ours is the large version, but I mean how big can it be? Just waiting for my test results and Saturday to come now...

I don't, but I informed them of all of the people on these discussion boards who are having one heck of a time dealing with the logistics of testing for those of us sailing on this upcoming weekend as we have had little notice. I was told it should have been updated yesterday and she has had many calls. I told her that there are so many more not calling and many who just can't navigate all of this. Don't get me wrong, I am grateful I can afford such a nice vacation, but this one has been more stressful than any other I recall.
  14. I searched FLL for their options and it looks like they do have testing at the baggage claim level in terminal 3 https://www.broward.org/Airport/passengers/Flights/advisories/pages/default.aspx . You can also check CovidClinic.org for locations nearby. I hope that helps.
  15. I have chatted and spoken with HAL reps and they have confirmed that their requirement is 3 days within sailing, not 72 hours for the covid testing requirements. I have expressed my complete frustration with them and they told me their website was supposed to have been updated yesterday. I kept the screen shot of my entire chat as proof to bring with me when I board just in case. Just because I never fully believe someone giving me an answer like that, I followed up with a phone call and that is when it was explained that the policy had changed to 3 days and their website was supposed to have been changed. There were many apologies, but that has not helped my sleepless nights. Maybe now I can put my mind at ease. Now I just hope for a negative result...hopefully before I fly out. I guess I just came to the realization that upgrading to the elite package doesn't even make sense for me since some of the cocktails or wines by the glass wouldn't be included since they are above the elite max of $15 per drink. Seems silly that it doesn't even cover their highest priced cocktail or wine by the glass. There is really nothing elite about it. I can't believe I had not read that before. SO many details!
  17. Being in fiery, smoky northern California, I will take the rain! I will breathe in all the cool, fresh air Alaska can give me while I'm there next week. It's just a little water 😉 (I have been to Juneau before though)
  18. What is the benefit of Club Orange? Aside from all the priority this and that (which never seems to be as great in reality as they claim) the elevated dining is the only real benefit. From those on recent sailings, are they providing an elevated dining experience at all? And what is the in room breakfast menu that is so much better?

  20. From the recent Live on the NA, it sounds like the "always available" has not been on the menu since the restart. Maybe that will change in time as things ramp up.

  22. Lido cabanas...is anyone using them? Is it cozy and warm in them? Is the lido roof being closed when the weather is cold and cloudy?
