    Anywhere a ship sails..
  1. So interesting..I started this thread in 2005 and it still gets seen! Not the people u were looking for here but sure enjoyed our cruise on Azure Seas...maybe we heard you play! Sail on...
  2. Does anyone know if the Golden Princess to Hawaii has zumba classes on board? We had them on the Transatlantic Ruby Princess and loved them. Only on sea days. Thanks.
  3. Post #35 has a great history of the ship..It was Western Cruise line in the 80's and not affiliated with RCCL of today. It was our first cruise too and what a memory!
  4. We are staying 3 nights post cruise in Sant Cugat del Villes on the outskirts of Barcelona city. Can anyone who has been to Barcelona area give us advice on whether it would be better to rent a car at BCN and drive or do taxi's and trains. We would want to tour the city a day or two but also would like to go to Montserrat and perhaps Girona. Is there parking available at Montserrat? Can't seem to find that info. Trying to decide between rental car or just using the public train transportation from Sant Cugat. Rental cars are not that expensive and with GPS...but then do we want to drive there? How easy is it to get to these places outside of the city. It's our first time in Spain. Who knows when we would return so we'd like to make the best of our time. Thanks!
  5. We are going on the Ruby Princess TA in about 2 1/2 weeks..in L-104. I too have been searching these threads for info. I will try to post good pictures when we return...I know there's a lot of interest in those Lido deck cabins there. Wish us luck and smooth seas!
  6. Has anyone ever booked one of the obstructed view cabins on the Lido deck that are situated above the bridge? I believe they are L101-104? Thanks.

    Tabyana Beach

We were just on the Solstice last week...and took their Tabayana beach/barbeque lunch...it was a great day. The snorkeling there was fabulous...we just walked in the clear warm water and saw quite a variety of fish about 20-30 feet out. Go, you won't regret it and have a great time..we want to go back!
  8. I agree, Tabayana beach was great snorkeling last week...a short walk into warm, clear waters and we saw a great variety of fish, included what I believe were several small squid. Loved it. We took a ship's tour which included a barbeque lunch. The facility is nice, clean and very much like what you find on the cruise line private beaches. Lots of chairs, a fair amount of shade, no pushy vendors and the best of our cruise. It's about a 20 minute drive from the pier.
  9. We,too, called the minute we got into our cabin and had no problem. The Patter had a small announcement about it and a number to call. It seemed like a lot of money for one meal..but WELL worth it. The special attention, the tour, appetizers, etc all excellent. Champagne and different wines were part of the meal..all fairly free flowing. At the end we all had pictures taken which we received the next day and a signed copy of Princess Cruise Lines cook book. It made for a very special memory!:)
  10. Truly love just about anything involved with cruising. Starting with the moment when you've unpacked your suitcases and they are stuffed under the bed and you're ready to go! The point when your ship leaves the harbor and enters the open sea...ahhhh escape! Waking up each morning to look out and see a place you've never been to before. Gotta go book our next cruise!:)
  11. As for us, we were on similar cruise last July and the Baltic was about the calmest waters we have ever sailed...as someone earlier posted..like a lake and a calm one at that. Beautiful especially with the long, long daylight hours! GO, you won't regret it!
  12. I would appreciate the option of being able to rebook without penalty, but then again it's not the cruise lines fault that there is a possible flu pandemic. "You know what" happens..so I think I'd go ahead and go on the cruise ports or no ports...for me, I just love being on a ship!!
  13. I was the member who started this thread almost 4 years ago and here it is still being read and that ship is still being remembered by a lot of us! Just thinking how cool that is and how I need to be booking another cruise!!! It's been great to read everyone's memories!:)
  14. I love that moment when you leave the confines of the harbor and head out to open sea!! Leaving all the cares behind on land and we're off to a new adventure! Can't get enough of cruising!:D
  15. Has anyone had one of these outside cabins at the front of ship? #7204 on the Independence of the Seas or other. Going in one this month and wondering what it will be like..views and ship movement. Thanks.
